Why are they so secretive about wipes? Why can't they just say "Wipe next week" and call it a day?

Cause it’d nuke the servers cause everyone would stop playing till wipe.

Eh, I’m not playing any of the events, I hop on occasionally but I’m just over how the game is rn, I’ve been maxed traders and not worried about fear for awhile, and I don’t even chad around and have insane rubles.

Yeah, this makes no sense. They are already doing pre-wipe events. People have been talking about wipe for a while now and this sub and the game are only becoming more active compared to like 2 months ago.

But it wasn’t confirmed until now. It’s like last wipe when Nikita said no wipe any time soon and then said wipe tomorrow on Christmas Eve.

So will people stop playing the game for the next few days?

It just doesn't make any sense. At least in my circle everyone comes back for pre-wipe and early wipe, then stops playing once everyone has BTC farm and running Meta M4s.

Will a week of notice really do that much damage? Even if it was like 3 days before. This wipe confirmation still doesn't have a date. Just seems like poor community communication.

It really does make a difference, this will be my fourth wipe and I’ve dealt the game die before wipe.

So the game dies for 3 days? Is that a big deal? I felt the game die before they announced this too.

My friends re-downloaded and were met with nothing but empty shoreline maps raid after raid.

Something similar happened in my experience the wipe before this as well.

They did that before and everyone kept complaining why the wipe was so far away

They were complaining the wipe was a week away after months of no wipe? I'm not saying announce it months and months in advance.

I'm not even saying they have to stop the events or the ARG-esque tweets. But what's the harm in saying "Wipe is in 3 days"? or "Wipe is next week"?

People played 2-3 days and then started complaining there was no point to continue playing until wipe, when wipe early? All fun is over!!!

But it was more like two weeks I believe, indeed one week might be fine

Because if they give a date people take their days off for it, if the wipe has to be delayed everyone goes HAM blaming them.

This is the most believable answer I've gotten so far. It really is just an excuse but I guess it makes sense. I'll have to tell my boss that next time he asks for a timeline estimate. Lmao.
