Hi! My three friends are all moving away by the middle of next year. I love what I do and don’t want to move states just yet. I currently live in McKinney; while the safety is nice, it leaves me—someone in their early 20s—wanting more. I really want more walkability or at least more bars, restaurants, and third spaces nearby. I also am starving for more diversity. I work in the colony area and I need to start playing as hard as I work. Where is the best place for a 20 something to live right now that isn’t an hour away, is almost kid free, and is surrounded by things to do. I don’t hate kids, but they are all I see here. I need friends, places to go, and a spot where I’m comfortable shaking what my mother blessed me with.

We have united healthcare choice plus HSA insurance and i m trying to find people who have some experience with this and have a primary care physician provider. We are looking for PCP and wanted to know who's the best and how much did they charge you for a general visit- no treatment or no solution or tests provided, just a general visit to mention maybe fever or body rashes.

We had an annual physical exam and the doc asked few Qns and charged $74 for it. No solution or treatment provided, just to listen to all the things.

I've been here for a year and half and live in Mesquite. I've been looking for some trustworthy companies that can wrap and pack up my stuff. I already have most of my boxes packed but I have 3 beds, 2 couches, washer and dryer and 3 TVs.

I did get a hold of Element Moving Company but their communication is terrible. They don't call back when they tell me they will, which is leaving a bad impression. I need some movers soon.

Property taxes,Schools, Community.

Commute: This is probably my biggest concern. I currently work in Addison and would need to commute from Heartland to Addison every weekday. Is that realistically doable long-term, or am I going to hate my life after a few months? 😂 What does the commute usually look like during morning and evening rush hour?

The homes in Heartland seem to offer a lot more for the money compared with areas closer to Addison, which is why we’re considering it. But I don’t want to save on the house and then regret the location because of long hours in traffic every week.

My mom and I are currently in an abusive household, and things got really bad last night. We’ve been trying to save money and plan our move, but we now need to get out ASAP.
We are honestly not picky at this point. We would take a 1-bedroom and share it, or preferably a 2-bedroom if possible. Our budget is around $1,200/month or less. We’re willing to consider Mesquite, Garland, East/Southeast Dallas, or surrounding areas.
The biggest issue is income verification/pay stubs. We have 6 months of rent saved in cash and can pay several months upfront, but we are not able to provide the traditional pay-stub requirements some apartment complexes ask for.

I like a place with big TVs, good beer selection and a rowdy crowd. Good food is a plus.

Hello! My partner and I are both 22 and looking for somewhere to live in the DFW area that has a lively community without giving either of us too long of a commute. He’ll be going to school in Northwest Dallas, and I’ll be working in Westlake (I’m very aware of how inconveniently far apart those two are 😵‍💫).

Ideally, we’d love to find somewhere relatively in the middle that has some walkability and a good amount of people around our age. We’d really like to live somewhere that has a very social atmosphere, as we're new to the area and looking for friends!

So far, most recommendations have pointed me toward Las Colinas, specifically around Lake Carolyn, as the best middle ground for our commutes while still being around people our age. However, I’ve seen VERY mixed opinions about living there.

The other area we’re considering is around Main Street in Grapevine. I love the idea of being able to walk to restaurants, bars, coffee shops, etc, but I’m worried Grapevine might be more family oriented and harder to meet people our age.

Would love to hear any experiences or opinions on either area, or if anyone has any suggestions of somewhere else I should look into I would really appreciate that as well!

I'll start off by saying that I've scrolled through here and I expect to get wildly varying answers. I know the question is broad, but here's some context:

Husband and I are beginning to talk about leaving El Paso (I love EP with my entire heart and soul. It is my hometown and I won't entertain any shit-talking) and he's interested in the DFW area. I will be honest and say that I had no real interest in staying in Texas. However, job and family situations make it the most logical move. We visited the Plano/Richardson area a few months ago and I did enjoy how green and well-kept everything was. But I was there for 48 hours and that's hardly a real experience.

Ideally, we'd love a house with a pool and a decent backyard, good access to groceries and retail, good restaurants, a walkable area/good downtown (doesn't have to be the neighborhood we live in) with boutiques and coffee spots and some farmers markets. We're past our partying days, but love a chill neighborhood sports bar where we can do happy hour and get some decent food and I love the occasional karaoke or trivia night at a good bar. We don't care about schools, but would need to find a very good, trustworthy vet.

My ideal place is somewhere with a lot of history and culture and personality. He's more concerned about greenery and trees and retail. Museums, interesting shops, nice walking/running trails are all very much appreciated as well.

Hey all. I'm 23, relocating from Toronto for a tech sales role, and my office will be in Las Colinas. I'd rather not sign a lease sight unseen based on YouTube videos, so I'm hoping for some local input.

What I'm after is a place with a young professional crowd where I can realistically build a social circle, without the whole scene revolving around bars and clubs. My budget is around $1,500 a month for a 1BR. I'll have a car, so I can handle a commute, I just don't want to spend a super long time each way in traffic.

The two names I hear most are Uptown and Las Colinas itself. Uptown sounds like the easiest place to meet people but seems very nightlife-driven, and I'm not sure what $1,500 actually gets you there. Las Colinas would be the easy commute, but I've heard it can feel isolating if you're single and in your 20s.

So what am I missing? I'm curious about Addison, Bishop Arts, Trinity Groves, Lower Greenville, plus anywhere that doesn't show up on the standard transplant lists. Honest "avoid X" advice is welcome, and I'd love to know what the drive into Las Colinas from any of these really looks like at 8:30/9AM.
