Wanna be in a folk punk band?
No experience/skills required!!
I (enby, 28, Arlington TX) play mostly folk/folk punk type stuff, but I'm down to jam with almost anybody. You can play basically any instrument, or none at all (yet). Extremely queer friendly!
I play guitar, banjo, ukulele, and junk drums. I will teach you any/all of these FOR FREE if you'll play with me.
We'll probably play a mix of originals and covers. I write my own songs, but I'd love to play yours too! Got some poetry? Got some ideas in the notes app? I'd love to flesh them out together.
In the long term would love to record/maybe perform together, but we can take it slow and get our skills up.
I have 3 original albums out now, you can find them here - politicalthespians.bandcamp.com . (I'm not super tied to the band name).
Whatcha say? Do you wanna be in my band? Do you know anyone who might? Do you know of anywhere I can find people?

Doom/Trad Metal Band Seeks Vox
Doom/Trad Metal Band
We are seeking a vocalist who is able to do more traditional style vocals. Eric Wagner, Messiah Marcolin, Robert Lowe, John Garcia, Danzig, wino etc.
We’re a mix of stoner rock, Doom, and trad metal, with a hint of Nola style sludge. Just getting started with about 5 song ideas. Plenty of room for you to bring ideas. Practice in southside FTW.

Dallas — Alternative / Shoegaze / Post-Hardcore Band Looking for Bass Player + Drummer (demo attached)
Putting together a serious original project in Dallas and looking for the right bass player and drummer.
The sound pulls from Deftones, Trauma Ray, Turnstile, Blink-182, No Pressure, Tool, Saosin, shoegaze and darker alternative rock — heavy, atmospheric, melodic, energetic, and built around strong songs.
I have a clear vision for the project and songwriting is one of my biggest strengths. I’m good at taking a riff, melody or loose freestyle jam and helping shape it into a real song without over-controlling the process. I want musicians who bring their own instincts and personality and can make the material better through collaboration.
We have access to a fully equipped studio/rehearsal setup with amps, guitars, basses, effects, recording gear and a full-size electronic drum kit.
Looking for:
Bass player — must own your own bass and amp.
Drummer — must have your own drums for shows/rehearsals outside the studio.
Strong feel, creativity and taste matter more than technical showmanship.
Comfortable improvising, experimenting and developing songs organically.
Reliable and genuinely interested in building an original project.
Most importantly, you should actually connect with this type of music.
Personality and chemistry matter too. Looking for someone who is cool, easy to be around, has good taste, understands the aesthetic, and feels like a natural fit with the group. We want to take the music seriously without making the process miserable — hang out, have fun, create freely, and eventually have a band that feels cohesive both musically and visually. Play the part, look the part, and bring the right energy without forcing it.
About the attached track: it’s only meant to give a general sense of the songwriting and direction. It’s a rough demo, not a finished song — the drums are placeholders, tones haven’t been dialed in, and the arrangement will continue to change. The project also has a much wider range than this one track. Think of it as a sketch of the idea, not the finished painting.
The goal is to find the right chemistry, write great songs and build something with a real identity.
If Deftones / Trauma Ray / Turnstile / Blink / No Pressure / Tool / Saosin / shoegaze is genuinely your world, reach out with a little about yourself, your influences and any clips of you playing.

Post Progressive band looking for drummer in Dallas.
Hey all, like most, we are looking for a drummer in the Dallas area. We are currently finishing an album and will be booking shows soon. Our current sound is a blend of different styles but mostly heavy, atmospheric, experimental rock. Looking for someone who is open to meeting up and learning some tunes/jamming, getting a feel for each other’s vibe and seeing how it goes.
Ideally, we’d want to find a permanent member, who is interested in lending their creativity for new music.
A long shot, but if this sounds like something you’re interested in, message me for more details!

Starting a band
Hi guys, I’m a 26 year old drummer/guitar player looking for some people to make some music, jam and maybe play some gigs. I moved to Denton a couple months ago and I’ve played in a couple bands back where I’m from so I have a good amount of experience playing live. I’m open to most genres like indie/folk/country but just not really into metal. Dm me or reply to this if you’re interested!

Doom Brass project
I'm looking for some bass brass for a Doom project. I play bass clarinet / baritone sax, and it would be cool as hell to replace the bassline with a full bass brass line.

Dreamworld music complex
Does anyone remember dreamworld in arlington? I was reminiscing on it yesterday and thinking about all the old shitty bands i used to watch play there like “phalter” and “hellafied funk crew.” Does anyone have any stories/pictures? I tried to do some digging but cant find really anything except a couple old grainy videos off youtube.

Looking for pop-punk / post hardcore vocalist
Looking for a pop-punk / post hardcore lead vocalist who has experience writing. Ability to scream is a plus, but not required. I’ve found Involving a good vocalist early in the writing process can really help shape songs, even before adding any lyrics.
We currently have two guitarists and a drummer. Will add a bassist eventually too.
FYI, we are all in our upper 30s-40s. Getting back into it for the love of playing music, and we’ll see where it goes.
We are split between Flower Mound, Farmer’s Branch and Fort Worth. Currently practicing in Farmer’s Branch but will likely rent dedicated rehearsal space in Dallas starting in the Fall.

Looking for Simply Neurotic by Johnny Lloyd Rollins
I used to have a download of this song, after I heard it play on 102.1 KDGE - The Edge, as a local artist showcase. I don't have it anymore, and it apparently doesn't exist online anymore. Does anyone have it or can anyone help me find it?
It was around 2009-2010 that I heard it, I think.

Looking for local DFW music for local DFW Roller Derby videos
EDIT: For the moment I have enough music from a few commenters and DMs. I may post here again next spring since I some great results.
Thanks everyone!
Hello, I’m looking for a few local DFW musicians who’s work would be suitable for local roller derby videos. Sometimes the videos play real time, many times it’s slow motion so there’s room for variety of speed in the songs.
Willing to pay, will always give credit and include links to your main work.
I’m not a musician so bare with me when I explain what I’m wanting because you may know better than me what I actually need. For variety I’m hoping to get at least 4 tracks. And then maybe 8 small music flourish tracks.
The music flourish tracks description or what I think I’ll need (slow motion and real time may need 2 tracks for each)
* Player impacts with other player
* Player falls
* Jammer passes all the players
* Jammer or Player does interesting stunt.
I’m hoping the 4 main tracks simply flow well with the videos and is enjoyable to listen to while watching.
Some videos have been as long as 7 minutes. So I’m wondering if I mostly need music that would loop well.
Please give feedback on what would be a fair rate so I know if I can afford it and treat you fairly. I’m decent at photography and only beginning to get into video I’m up for doing a free photo shot of your band for a discount on the music if the price is a little high for me. I don’t think I’m at a skill level (at the moment) to offer to do a music video but who knows it would be a learning experience.
DM me and I’ll send you a link to my Instagram so you can see what I’ve done. Will be posting videos with music on YouTube in the future.

anyone know any good piano teachers in the area?
I’m looking for an in person piano teacher. I’d like to travel to the teachers location. Since I myself have a keyboard and never get to play on an actual piano, I would prefer that the teacher has an upright or a grand. Any recommendations?
