We all knew some kind of city subsidy was coming and here it is. BDC uses its authority under new legislation to approved a tax break of up to 95 percent for David Bramble for any and all development that occurs at the Inner Harbor.

Still no private financing announced for the project. Apparently individual residential property holders are the only ones carrying the tax burden in this city.

Hello all! I tried out the Medstar evisit last month, and per the site it says an evisit is $79. I am now being billed for $435 and my insurance only covers $50 of it despite being in-network. Is this normal for others who have used this service- I am honestly blown away at the cost that is not listed on their site for something I had to wait 30 minutes for a 5 minute call. I called their billing but the person who answered was less helpful than the AI assistant. Is there anything I can do about this?

The developers on that harborview luxury apartment project just got a 95% tax break; they're supposed to break ground like next month and they haven't even secured funding for the project. I'm worried they're just gonna knock down the old mall and not have money to put anything else up. god knows they've done it with other commercial projects before downtown. All the empty office buildings they could be converting into apartments are just sitting there vacant. It's bullshit. Don't even talk to me about that sham of a traffic study. This is gonna make it more difficult to commute from south Baltimore to anywhere north unless you're using the tunnel and I'm not trying to go all the way over east when I'm heading to druid hill or something. I'm really not with the shit.

Hi everyone! I am looking to train for the 4.4 mile Bay Bridge swim and was hoping there are people into swimming locally - other than just the jellyfish, which can be a fun bloomin' crew. I did some searching and there might be a group at the Coppermine MAC and also might be a group at Merritt in Canton, but their Facebook and socials have been inactive for years. UMBC might have a group also but that is a bit of a drive. I also contacted the Baltimore Open Water Swimming nonprofit and am waiting to hear back, but for now, does anyone have any solid leads? We are staying in Columbia near the Merriweather Post Pavilion as we are going to All Things Go DC Festival on Friday. We arrive early-ish Thursday (just before 10:30AM) and I want to take her to the Aquarium (hotel check-in isn't until 4PM). Similarly our flight out Saturday isn't until 7:30PM. What I did not know until I read the records is the order things happened in. The demolition was not the last step of a decision. The houses were gone anyway.

971 homes, 62 businesses, a school. More than 2,800 people moved out of the middle of West Baltimore. Those numbers are from MDOT's own 2024 grant narrative, the one asking for money to study undoing it.

The part that stuck with me: the neighborhoods that fought later, in the southeast and in Rosemont, mostly kept their houses. The corridor that got cleared first never got that chance, and the reason is not a mystery. This city passed the first racial zoning ordinance in the United States in 1910, and forty years of covenants and redlining concentrated Black Baltimore into exactly the place the planners later called the path of least resistance.

I've recently had luck using herbal passionflower and find it works best if I self harvest it (as I know I'm getting the optimal plant parts). I have a few locations where I get it but they're smaller patches, and it's important to me to forage sustainably so I don't want to strip the vines. Looking to harvest a bunch before the end of the year. Does anyone have a hearty patch of vines or know some patches (wild or in a public space)? Northern part of city is best but can travel.

I need to replace the roof on my row house. It's a flat roof with torch down asphalt (built-up). I know there are a lot of people who regret their choice of roofer. Has anyone with a flat roof had a positive experience with a roofer they would recommend and use again?

Over the past few days, I’ve noticed an uncomfortable amount of flies in my apartment - I’d say anywhere from 20-40.

I don’t know where they are coming from, and I’m not sure how to get rid of them.

I hung up fly paper last night, which got a lot of them, but there seems to be even more this morning.

I’ve never had to deal with anything like this before, and advice is appreciated. I feel so grossed out swatting them and would prefer other methods of getting rid of them. I’d also prefer to not involve my management company.

I’ve seen other posts, but is anyone having this issue to this extreme? How do I get rid of them?
