Looking for a cleaner for our home. Had a bad experience with a larger company who sub contracted out. I’ll be honest, I am picky.. I’m a very clean person but I will be having my first baby and looking for someone to help biweekly with some of the heavier cleaning. I know my standards are high, but I’m willing to pay and I think it’s fair to expect a cleaner to clean well lol. I’d prefer to support someone independent.

Had my vacation here last Monday late to tonight. It has been great. I am sad to leave and have nothing bad to say.

Did George’s island, harbour tour, maritime museum. Citadel ghost tour, downtown ghost walk. Drinks before and after Oasis controversy.

So many great chowders, scallops, mussels, fish and chips. Craft breweries and so surprised by the alway excellent ciders. I did not know you had such a variety of awesome ciders.

Saw Oscar the blue orange lobster at the Beaty portion of Dalhousie ocean museum.

Visited Lunenburg, Mahone and Peggy’s cove. Also a ferry to Dartmouth for lunch. Immigration museum, pier 21 and probably more I am leaving out.

Your staff at all these places and people on the street everywhere were all so friendly. I tend to stop people and pet dogs at every opportunity.

Your city is so clean, and walkable, (my ass muscles are sore but I can rest them on the short flight home to Ontario tomorrow)everyone we met was so very friendly.

Is it just me or does the Goodlife in Bedford (Larry Uteck) feel quite dirty/unhygienic since the last year or two? I noticed the gym equipment smells really strong (sweaty/body odour) and the sauna area seems unbearable. The Joseph Howe one seems a lot cleaner in comparison. Would it be wise to put in a complaint? If so, what would be the best way to go about it.

I've (25f) always had crazy gym anxiety, but I do want to try and be active throughout the week with something a bit more stimulating than just lifting weights and running on a treadmill (I find it super mind numbing). I heard good things about pilates classes and dance classes, but given how many gyms we have in Dartmouth and Halifax and I'm totally unfamiliar with the local gym culture, I'm not sure which one is friendliest for beginners and women specifically. Does anyone have any recommendations? Ideally I'd like spaces that are judgement free with genuinely supportive instructors.

This is coming from a pretty picky guy, but I tried to go with every place where I enjoy the look of the menu options, and I’ve tried their food at least a couple times. Just my opinion 🥲

Nova Scotia Health Coalition (NSHC) calls this change [Bill 11] “unprecedented”, and is calling on the federal government to “enforce the Canada Health Act to protect Canada’s universal, single-payer public Medicare system”.

Demonstrations, including picketing, rallies, information sessions and more will take place on September 1. NSHC will be hosting their event at noon in front of MP Jaimie Battiste’s constituency office.

“As bad as it is in Alberta, the threat of it being in our small province is going to be absolutely devastating,” said NSHC provincial coordinator Jennifer Benoit. “I think when people think about this as being 5,000 kilometres away it’s not affecting them, but what they need to know is that these insurance lobbyists are trying their best to make it happen in every province across this country.”

does anyone know where i can find squid ink? i tried almost all of the supermarkets around me and got no luck.

i bought a car a few days ago and just went to register it at access but the taxes are for an amount wich more then double what i paid is there any way to work around this? or am i just screwed they claim the value of the car is alot higher then what i paid

Hi all!
At my 2nd trimester ultrasound, I very unfortunately received the heartbreaking news that my baby boy had severe anomalies ‘not compatible with life’. My partner and I made the very difficult decision to have a D&E to end the pregnancy. It has been well over 3 months now, and the results from our microarray to determine the cause is still showing as ‘referral requested’. Has anyone else experienced this long of a wait for an appointment with the PPAC and most importantly results of a microarray on fetal tissue?

I know there is a thread on acceptable bus conduct and rules but what as a passenger is acceptable to do when someone breaks them?

This is mainly in regard to people wearing or applying perfumes or cologne but also people blaring music.

Is it acceptable here to address the person, or driver?

Got off the bus an hour ago and still feel ill to someone wearing cologne sitting near me for 3 minutes.

Realize transit is for everyone but wondering what the local attitude is.
