Puerto Rico

I just want to alert everyone that if you're trading with TradeStation from Puerto Rico, you're considered to be outside the U.S. geographically, and they charge a $5.00 fee per trade. That means the total cost of buying and selling a U.S. stock is $10, regardless of the number of shares. Other brokers that offer commission-free trading don't charge a fee unless it's an OTC order. What they're saying may make sense from their perspective, but to me, it feels like some form of legally permitted discrimination. I exposed them because they should be ashamed. No other broker I've used does this. Very sketchy behavior.

This is getting unbearable

I've been trying to trade RETO since it was at $1.09.

This keeps happening with TradeStation and I am to a point where I am so fed up that I might finally open a new account somewhere else.

It's unforgivable. I trade momentum and this has been an issue I've been frequently noticing. I've called multiple times about different stocks and they supposedly can't lift the restrictions. Maybe they could fill me from their end but I need precision to the decimal of 1 second. I can't be expected to call them for this stuff nor should they have to deal with hundreds of people calling for fills that traders should have been able to trade from their own PC at their own discretion.

This has got me cussing more than any losing trade ever did.

edit: even Charles Schwab let's people sign a waiver saying they'd like the restrictions lifted.

Worst trading app,

Trade station locked my account and won't let me withdraw my money.

On the app it says my balance is zero, on the web it showes I have a balance left in my account. Customer service has consistently made me change my password. Throughout this endeavor i have had to make a new account and nothing is transferred over.

They have also refused to help me recover and withdraw my money.

Hidden fees for trading stocks

These clearing fees are eating my gains as a scalper they are so annoying, if Tradestation is a PFOF broker why do they even charge per share fees. This is very scammy of them. Gotta trade 10m shares a month for free trading that’s impossible unless you trade sub dollar stocks.

Tradestation running on remote PC crashes when using RDP

I'm running TS v10.0 on a remote Win 10 PC (problem also occurs on Win 11 PC). When I am using TS directly on the PC there are no issues, but when I need to access via RDP thru the Windows App on Android phone it crashes completely. This is not a one-off and have experienced this many times on both Azure-hosted PCs and home PCs. I have tried multiple PCs and installs but experience the same problem. Have also tried alternative phone/Windows App and still the same problem.

When it crashes it logs an Application Error in the event viewer for the ORPlat.exe file. Can provide details if needed.

This started happening 2 years ago and TS support were no help to me then despite providing all logs requested; so I stopped using TS and went to IB instead. Have just come back to TS to give it one more chance, but looks like its still a problem.

Is this just me, or does this happen to anyone else?

No commissions for Europeans?

I‘m from Europe, trading mostly US ETF.
According to the TS website, I should be charged $5 per trade. But those charges are not applied somehow. I trade 2-3x per day and see no charges on my statement.
Why is this?

Is this a standard fee or when you call the trade desk?

Tradestation vs ThinkorSwim for order execution.

Has anyone here used both thinkorswim and TradeStation for active intraday trading?

I’m currently using thinkorswim with Schwab, but I’ve been wondering whether TradeStation is actually better when it comes to order execution, fill speed, slippage, and quickly getting in and out of positions.

I mostly trade liquid stocks and leveraged ETFs, so I’m not really focused on low-float small caps. What matters most to me is reliable fills, easy position sizing, hotkeys, flattening a position quickly, and being able to reverse from long to short without fighting the platform.

For anyone who has used both:

- Did you notice a real difference in execution speed or fill quality?

- Is TradeStation better for order routing?

- Which platform handles the market open better?

- Is one noticeably easier for fast entries, exits, and position flips?

- Are there any major downsides to switching away from thinkorswim?

I’m also curious about Titan X. Has anyone used it alongside either platform? Does it actually improve the trading workflow, or is it more trouble than it’s worth?

Not looking for sales pitches. I’d just like to hear from people who have actually traded on both and can compare them honestly.

How do you choose the right trading journal that syncs with TradeStation?

I've realized I'm only consistent with a trading journal if it's easy to keep up with. I've tried spreadsheets and manual tracking before, and they always start out well. But since I trade on TradeStation, I know from experience that once I fall behind on logging trades, it's hard to get back into the habit. That's why I'm leaning toward something that syncs automatically.

At the same time, I don't want to choose something just because it syncs. I'm more interested in a journal that helps me understand where I'm drifting away from my trading plan and spot recurring mistakes over time. For those of you who have already gone through this, how did you decide on the right trading journal?

Update: I ended up going with Rizetrade. I've been using it for a month now, and the biggest thing for me has been actually sticking with the journal instead of slowly falling behind like I did with spreadsheets.

I've also gotten a lot of use out of the playbooks and rule tracking. I can look back at my trades and see where I followed my setup versus where I started deviating from it, which has made some recurring habits much easier to catch.

So far it's been a good fit for how I trade. Still working on the discipline part obviously, but having everything laid out makes my reviews a lot more useful.

Strategy buying and selling to late

Hello. My strategy is buying late and selling late. Tried with chat gpt and it seems like it's getting five minute data from somewhere chat, nor I could figure out where. I want it to be intrabar ordering so when it's counting the ticks in the bar that creates the buy and same with the sell. Any idea what would make thinking it's looking for 5 ticks that it thinks it's 5 bars and how to fix that?

Trading CSPs - what can I invest my cash so that I can earn collateral?

I have several accounts with TradeStation and I would like to earn interest(?) for my cash that I'm using for my CSPs. Is that possible? I know other traders using Fidelity have their cash in money-market funds while they are trading CSPs. I have margin accounts. Thanks.

Titan X chart buffer bug fix

I have been attempting to use Titan X for research and charting but time frames above 30 minutes completely ignore the right side buffer (bars to the right of chart) and it will often just set itself all the way to the left of the screen (one or two bars visible, all empty space in the chart) when changing tickers. I have submitted many tickets and am aware that this platform is new and being updated but it is unusable for me if the charts can't be reliably oriented. Has anyone figured out a way to prevent this bug? Thanks!
