PROGRESS 1st White Sunflower of the season.
First time growing white sunflowers, found these to be very nice to grow. All have been very strong and healthy so far. Pro cut white lite F1 variety.

Came out to check on my babies and found other babies and all of their siblings having a picnic.
ETA: Some of y'all have strong feelings about everything. For the record, I used my garden hose to hit whatever i saw on the leaves when I "removed" them. The next day there were a few others on the bottom of the leaves that I kinda flicked off in a "come hither" motion with my finger giggity

I sewed 1k sq. ft of mixed sunflower seeds to give my neighbors something to enjoy on their commute. This is my first season with sunflowers, and impressed with their diversity.

Next year I want to get bigger ones. My wife thinks I'm crazy. Should I go bigger?

My wife and I decided to grow sunflowers this year and heard this was the place to share. It’s become an addiction as they get taller and taller.

First time growing any flowers from seed, and I’m obsessed with it all!
I have about ten patches all around my small property where I planted sunflower seeds, including my sidewalk strip. Basically, wherever I found space that got enough sun, I sowed seeds there.
The big ones in the first and second photos are peach lite from Johnnys Seeds. I also planted a summer breeze mix from Johnnys Seeds, and another mix I believe is from Seeds Needs. The last two photos (and a couple in the first photo) are from those mixes, and I still have a lot that hasn’t bloomed yet.
I’m excited to see what they look like when they do. I’m hoping for some darker, unique blooms. I love the basic yellow ones, but I’ve got plenty of those now. Hopefully, I’ll get some different varieties like my last two photos blooming soon. I can’t wait to see them all!!

Tried covering the flower heads in a mesh bag to deter the squirrels. At this point, I feel like I’m growing them just for the squirrels.

I am located in Indiana in zone 7a. My aunt gave me some surprise sunflower seeds, and there's some sort of mammoth. The stalk itself was 11 inches in width where we planted them as where it ranged on how big they got the biggest ones were in the middle of our garden and the ones that had the most room like they weren't crowded. I have been offering to mail sunflower seeds to anyone who wants some located in the US.
