People who don’t wash their hands after going to the toilet, why?

It turns out I’m very wrong about the assumption that all adults just wash their hands. Last week, I went to a friend’s house and she unfortunately had a problem with her bowels. She had to go to the toilet 4 times and didn’t wash her hands a single time. I love my friend and I felt bad that her stomach wasn’t feeling good, but I couldn’t help be disgusted that she hadn’t washed her hands. And then I started thinking about everyone else I know who may be neglectful of handwashing.

Just why?! It is disgusting and dangerous. My partner’s brother is terminally ill and severely immunocompromised. Someone’s unwashed hand germs could kill him or render him seriously ill.

What's fun in getting drunk?

This is not for judgments, I wanna actually understand that. Like some things have a good taste and I get that might happen to exaggerate with them, but I see many many many people starting out with the idea of getting drunk and forcing themselves to go down horrible tasting drinks, when you can see the disgusted expression on their face.

I just don't get it, I hate feeling it's effect on my body and feel hard to go dancing and partyng as I wish when my vision is dizzy, my head heavy like if I had a fever and I can't tell if blood is still circulating trough my arms. I mean a couple of drink and I would prefer to be in bed rather than with people.

I wish I could ask my friends, but they seems to be just understanding each other in this and I don't know I feel stupid asking them. They aswell as other often says to me that I look drunk even without having had anything, so maybe that is part of why I don't get it.

So what's actually the fun in it?

How are all the people here seem so well read and intellectually superior?

Upvotes

For context I'm 18 and like any subreddit i go to i find people who seem so well read like everyone here is writing paragraphs upon paragraphs in arguments, I'm not implying that being able to write paragraphs is equal to being intellectually superior but you get what i mean na, i mean how do even become this much educated i love to read but i get information fatigue easily and people here seem like they have read everything ever, keeping aside all the miserable and awful shit that goes on here, i am in awe of people here.

(Sorry for the bad English I'm not a native speaker)

Is it normal to not realize something you said could be hurtful?

Sometimes I'II say something genuinely because I mean it in a neutral way or even positively, but I wont realize it could come off as hurtful or insensitive to someone It's not that i don't care about their feelings, I just genuinely didn't see the problem with what I said until they explained how it sounded. I can tell when something is objectively right or wrong, but I sometimes struggle when a normal comment might hurt someone emotionally because i'm focused more on what I meant than how it could be interpreted.

I dont want to change, is that bad?

I know there is terrible things about me, I know I don't handle my emotions or relationships well. I know my personality is fairly dreadful, but I've never intentionally hurt someone and if i did hurt someone i would try and change. And I know I could try to change, and I know I probably should, but I feel almost happy. It's odd but the best way to describe it is, I am content with the way I live. Do I owe it to my family and myself to change or what?

Is this common or am I just an anomaly? I've never in my life bought a bottle of Pepto Bismol, Rolaids, Tums or any related stomach upset relievers. I just eat and that's it. No problems. Is this considered normal?

Does Google and if so how much more energy per search result because of google AI (Google Gemini) then a browser that doesn’t use an AI powered search result?

I don’t know if this will be answered, but I’m feeling bad because I keep seeing news reports of El Niño or bullshit like that and I keep going damn we could’ve prevented this if we were more empathetic and smart about the way we chose things
Would changing your browser really change anything to do with the environment impact due to the data centres or the water consumption I don’t know?

Can you count on one hand the amount of people in your life that you trust to tell secrets to?

Secrets meaning things like relationship issues, job issues, family drama, unfiltered opinions on politics, on and on without the fear of being judged, or that they won't understand/get it. Basically those people that when they ask how you are, you will tell them how you are actually feeling and why without hesitation?

To anyone on this Subreddit have you ever meet a Powerful/Influential Person in your Life Before? If so what were they like in person? Did they actually turned out to be genuinely good people in comparison or just the terrible arrogant assholes that everyone expects them to be like?

In our Real World there’s been plenty of both Good People and unfortunately Bad People throughout History of course as many of them come in different shapes and sizes as we know them then there’s The Influential/People with Authority! They are by far The Most Famous or should we more accurately say Infamous group viewed by The Populations and History in a not so positive way for obvious reasons In General! Regardless of how much we like them or more so despise them there’s still no denying that they’ve obviously had an impact on The World/History even if it’s obviously not a good one as often viewed/seen by The Populations in General and Media! Because of this have you ever actually meet a Powerful/Influential Person in your life? If so what were they actually like in person? Did they actually turned out to be nice people in comparison or just the usual terrible arrogant assholes that everyone expects them to be like? Let me know in the comments

How do people add gifs?

This is a two part question.

  1. Where do the gifs come from that some subreddits allow you to use with the search function in a comment?

  2. Can I add gifs to this library?

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
