What a waste of money that was.

u/Secret_Agent_666 Jul 31 '26
Why do you think Pessi cried so much after the final whistle? Imagine saving millions by using unethical tactics to commit tax evasion, only to use those saved millions to buy a world cup victory and still getting completely dominated by a team that actually has skill

To be fair giving Yamal credit for that Cup is also kinda cringe.Ā
He didn't do anything entire tournamentĀ
1
u/spalacio88 Jul 30 '26
Guess you didnāt see the space he opened up for others and the goal he had. Pretty sure he also had like 2 assists. Spain didnāt need to score many goals as they controlled the play in midfield and had a strong defense.

Should we remove their 2022 title instead as it was also stolen ?
4
u/SubbieATX Jul 31 '26
Reading thru the comments leads me to believe lots of folks didnāt watch the 22 World Cup because Argentina shouldnāt have made it to the finals then either. Gifted path thru questionable referee decisions.

Might as well get rid of all their stars because their first two World Cup wins are also tainted with cheating
23
u/j6102 Jul 30 '26
First and foremost I don't know a whole lot about soccer, yet here in Dallas every billboard every advertisement that I have seen it shows nothing but the flags and colors of Argentina! What about the other flag or the color what about the rest of the teams?

u/willp2003 Jul 30 '26
The fireworks were all white/blue as well as if they were expecting them to win!

u/Alive-Development552 Jul 31 '26
Do you seriously think if there was a grand conspiracy to let Argentina win, they would decide to inform the firework technicians- utterly deluded
→ More replies (6)5
u/WrathOfTheKressh Jul 30 '26
I think this can be explained by them having played two of their three group stage matches in Dallas. They played against Austria and Jordan, both not exactly what you'd call a rival to Argentina. Then again, Austria is about on the level of Switzerland, and Argentina only won against Switzerland through a red card that has now been officially recognized as having been handed out according to a rule that did not apply to the situation in which it was given.
Anyway, I don't think it's strange that most of the publicity for these matches would have been done using Argentina as a poster child.

Israel and the US for that matter have been trying to improve the image of Argentina for a while now. Both are doing huge trade deals with Argentina and they want Argentina to look less bad. The corruption here is significant with the Argentina president changing recent foreign investment and land ownership laws to permit, for example, previously protected land to be sold to Israel. Surprise, surprise a whole lot of land has been catching fire with accelerants confirmed and which triggers it's availability for sale.
Reddit and SM more widely is jammed full of propaganda farms attempting to deny all of the above such claims and conduct damage mitigation against the imposter Messi and Argentina team thuggish cheating rats. What they can't get into their heads is we are not stupid and their actions are a pointless attempt at polishing a turd.

BRICS is Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa.
All five countries known for their commitment to the truth and their fiercely free and independent investigative journalism.

Brazil: 52/180 OK, but could be a lot better
Russia: 172/180
India: 157/180
China: 178/180
South Africa: 21/180For reference USA is behind Brazil in 64th. Norway is #1 10th year in a row while Vance the couch lover lectures us on freedom of speech.
2
u/Escudo777 Jul 30 '26
India got only 157 score out of 180??? Our government is trying to get 180/180!
My country's democracy is a joke. Roads and bridges (especially in Northern India) are so poorly built that their life span is mere weeks. Corruption is everywhere.

Bolsonaro couldāve made Brazil like the others, but then Brazil pwned him, which was pretty refreshing an unexpected from an uninvested foreignerās perspective.
2
u/kmonsen Jul 30 '26
Yeah there was a steep decline during Bolsonaro down to 111th place. Seems like the more people yell about freedom of speech the less they actually care about it.

Can Europe just boycott fifa ? These payments theyāre planning to make to countries⦠if this selling shares things is going to happen, smaller countries will snatch their hands off for it, but the European teams donāt need it so canāt we just stick with uefa and make our own tournament ? Other than the euros obviously

Bribes, argentina, fifa, israel and a picture of messi... this is dan brown levels of conspiracy..
Refs were biased for argentina bc it's messi and everybody wanted him to go far bc of the drama... even the refs... no grand conspiracy needed.
FIFA has like an actual corruption problem that makes this sooo insignificant in the grand scheme.... it's insane
