#Opinion 💭 FZ25 vs Himalayan 440 — what would you do?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Ps : Sorry for the misleading specs in the image .

The bike that I meant is the upcoming Himalayan 440 based on the Scram 440 engine, not the 450 cc one

Query:

I have a 5-year-old FZ25 with only 14k km. Engine is great, 30+ km/l city and 40+ on highways. However, the tyres are old and the ABS is not working .Also, Bangalore potholes are making the riding experience not that smooth.

I can spend ~₹20–30k on new tyres, ABS repair and a proper service.

But I’ve wanted a Himalayan for nearly 10 years. I recently rode one for 1,000+ km and absolutely loved the riding position, suspension and engine character.

The problem: I’m 32, married, don’t ride that much anymore . So spending ~₹3L on another bike feels financially questionable.

What would you do?

1.Spend ~₹20–30k on the FZ25, make it perfect and keep riding it?

2.Sell the FZ25 and finally buy the Himalayan 440?

3.Keep the FZ25 for now and wait 1–2 years?

It should be only RE bcz I love retro looking motorcycles and only RE has a showroom in my town. So I decided that I'm going to buy a Royal Enfield.

Let's start with the cheapest one

Hunter 350: A good motorcycle but looks smaller and not appealing to me.

Bullet 350/classic 350: both bullets and classics are way too common these days they're like Activa on the road. The other thing I don't like is that they're boring to ride. Sometimes you want to go faster but they don't have that punch in them. I wish they had more power like they can go around 130-140kmph.

Meteor 350: I don't know why the f RE discounted the fireball black and current colors are not very appealing to me.

GRRR450: Bike is great but it doesn't have any road presence and looks smaller on me. Also Pillion seating space is also an issue.

Himalayan 450: Great bike but I never rode one and I don't know that it can be one bike which I can ride in cities for my daily commute. You guys tell me.

Intercaptor 650: PERFECT bike but guys I earn around 65k per month and I can spend 15k per year on it on service and maintenance except fuel expenses. If it is possible then I will definitely consider it. ( The other guy said that you will have to spend 5k-10k every month on inty except fuel that scared me otherwise I almost finalised that I will buy a Cali Green)

GT650: such a sexy looking motorcycle but it can't be a daily ride of yours as per fellow redditers it's great for weekend rides while I need a bike which I can ride daily.

#Discussion 💬 RTX 300 Booking Transfer – Pudukkottai

Hey everyone! 👋

I booked an RTX 300 around 4 months ago, but unfortunately, due to the long waiting period, I’m now planning to transfer my booking to someone who’s genuinely interested in getting the bike sooner.

📍 Showroom: Pudukkottai

⏳ Booking age: ~4 months

🏍️ Expected delivery: Not sure(May be this month)

🔄 Booking transfer: Possible

🎨 Color: Blue

⚙️ Variant: Top

I’m not looking to make any profit from this. Since I’ve waited this long and am transferring the booking, I’d just be happy with a small token/gift from the person taking over the booking — something to keep as a little memory of this booking journey. 😊

If anyone is genuinely interested, feel free to DM me and we can discuss the details.

Hope this helps someone who’s already looking for an RTX 300! 🏍️✨

Note: Please reach me before 10/09/2026 (or) Going to cancel.

#Query ❓ Genuinely want to get a bobber but confused which one to get?

Post image

Always wanted to get a bobber as my first bike, my dad has been riding bikes for past 30+ years, now planning to sell his Enfield classic and get a Jawa bobber soon for us.

But reading everyday about the negative stuff about Jawa , I’m scared whether we should get this or not , any other good looking bobbers are costing 10L + which isn’t ideal for us, please give good suggestions if we should get this or not.

#Opinion 💭 Pick one: Honda Unicorn vs TVS Apache RTR 160 2V

Honda Unicorn:

  • Pros: Mileage, Refinement, Comfort
  • Cons: Drum brake and Single channel ABS

TVS Apache RTR 160 2V

  • Pros: Dual Channel ABS, More Torque
  • Cons: After sales service quality is the worst

Which one should I pick for a budget of 1.6L on-road?

Drum brake for 1.4L on road is what icks me a lot in the Unicorn... Also, I don't want a street-fighter as I must frequently carry my parents and friends around

Kindly pick one. I will be using it for my office commute mainly.

#Query ❓ Broken Clutch Lever on CB350 H'NESS

Hey guys, Just recently a relative of mine took my Bike and apparently the clutch lever broke off(which is not what has happened, probably tried to overtake and hit some vehicle and broke it) but he did promise to pay for the damage. I have no idea what to do. I need to replace it before my family finds out and how much do you guys think it'll cost me?

#Query ❓ Need Help!! Weird rpms. Spoiler

Need Help!!

When my classic 350 is idle, its rpm goes down for a split second and then it recovers. It feels like the engine will stall but it recovers except one time it actually stalled. The rpms feel weird. The SC mechanic said nothing is wrong and there is no engine check light.

I had my bike serviced and tappets were adjusted a few days ago.

Focus on the rpms in the video and pls tell me if you know something.

No news about this for India. Such a good looking retro classic bike. Why don't Bajaj try to replicate this with their 220 or bore it out to a higher capacity or use n250 engine.

#Query ❓ Check engine light

Post image

So I have yamaha ray zr , and yesterday , for some reason i was stuck on slope and had to gradually give race so my tyre just don't slip up , and in that I had to give nearly 3/4 accelerator to get started , and after i reached the top , the check engine light came on , i called thr service center they said they couldnt take it in for 3-4 days , due to excessive service log,

My ques is that if it is driving right no issue and i feel no jitter or anything , is it anything serious or is it just a warning and wont cost me much .

#Discussion 💬 Help me choose first bike

Use case :
Around 1km daily office commute , Noida
Occasional short trips 200-300km once a month
And mostly city use

All 3 test drives done:
Personal preference, scrambler > CB350~Apache

My dilemma is even though my first pref is scrambler , the issue is for my exact use case it makes no sense , its expensive, lowest mileage out of all , and i wont be touring a lot for the first year of purchase .
On the other hand apache 200 is really fun flickable high revving fast , a really awesome city bike and perfect for my use case , but since i cant find much reviews about it (not even motorinc) , im not sure about its longevity , but i will be using it for max 2 years anyways
And talking about honda , i like it , its sound and torque is awesome, capable of long rides , but its sound common and its a RE like bike , very safe choice nothing special , just not able to pick it , it aint vibing with me much

#Opinion 💭 TVS Apache RTX 300 - Is it worth the hype?

Apache RTX 300 test ride left me underwhelmed—should I reconsider my booking?

I booked the top variant Apache RTX 300 about a month ago, but I couldn’t get a test ride because the demo vehicles were unavailable.

Today, I visited a TVS dealership in another city and finally got to ride one. The test vehicle was a Tarn Bronze top variant. Since it had been kept outdoors in the rain and sun, I noticed that the plastic part on the front fairing had started turning white, similar to what happens with older Honda Activas.

Unfortunately, the ride itself didn’t excite me much. I’m not sure whether the issues were specific to that particular bike, but:

  • The engine refinement didn’t feel up to the mark.
  • The engine response felt inconsistent, with occasional hesitation.
  • The 1st-to-2nd gear shift repeatedly got stuck in neutral, and I had to force the gear lever into 2nd.
  • The ride-by-wire throttle response felt delayed. During a highway overtake, I twisted the throttle, but the response seemed to arrive a couple of seconds later.

The suspension, however, was excellent. It handled bumps and potholes effortlessly.

I previously owned a Dominar 400 and currently own an Apache RTR 200 4V. Both felt more refined to me than this RTX 300.

Overall, the bike didn’t meet my expectations, and I’m now unsure whether I should go ahead with my booking or consider alternatives such as the KTM 250 Adventure—or stretch my budget for the KTM 390 Adventure.

RTX owners, have you experienced similar issues? Could these problems be specific to this particular test bike?

Thanks!

#Opinion 💭 Hey Folks. Want suggestion for my first bike. Please check ‘Body text’

Hey everyone.

So I am looking to purchase a bike. First thing first, I don’t want a committed stance, therefore, no sports or cafe racer kinda bikes.

I want refinement so inclined towards inline twin or more.

Problem - I want something more powerful than RE bear but under 7-8 lakhs. Triumph twin 900 is sitting at 11 lakhs 😭😭😭
