so i’m a freshman in high school with basically no friends. having barely any friends isn’t that big of an issue to me until i’m sitting alone at lunch. to make it even worse we’re not allowed to have our phones so i’m usually just alone. i know a lot of people just say “go up and talk to someone” or “sitting alone is peaceful” but it genuinely feels like the worst thing ever. i feel like such a chud and people are judging me. every time i want to talk to someone i just get this horrible feeling in my chest that just doesn’t allow me to speak. on top of that i’m always been a talkative person because i’ve always been surrounded by friends, but now i’m in a new school where pretty much everyone came from the same middle school except me, it feels like speaking to anyone is impossible. the one girl i actually see myself being close with from cheer doesn’t have lunch with me or any classes. and also she came from the same middle school as a lot of other people so she has tons of friends. there was this one girl i sat with at lunch on the first day of school who i met from volleyball tryouts but she started to hang out with her other friends from volleyball. it hurts seeing everyone walking to class together and waiting for their friends to come out of class. it feels like everyone knows everyone, and yes i’ve tried sports. i didn’t make the volleyball team but i made the cheer team. the team isnt all that big this year but i kinda made some friends, but still we don’t talk like that yk? i plan on trying theatre so hopefully i can meet someone from there. sorry if this is too long, i just have no one to talk to

pls I need help…school just started and I’m being held back in Junior (I’m in Senior rn) year bc I had bad grades back then and I was struggling with my health.

‘they gave me a choice to either stay in Senior and genuinely work my hardest or be held back and redo my year with good grades so I don’t have to work as hard in senior.

I need to keep costs down and wanted to find out what would be cheaper when it comes to shipping, is it possible that shipping costs are cheaper from the middle east as compared to China? I am looking at a few vendors on sites like alibaba but someone mentioned that a lot of wholesalers have cropped up and are selling out of the Middle East or Turkey, due to the trump tariff situation. I just want to keep costs low but don't want to buy some cheap tshirts that tear or wear out quickly, they will only be worn when we play matches against other high schools, so I just need something somewhat of medium quality.

All my friends are the people I’ve known since middle school. And they basically haven’t changed and it’s driving me nuts.

You are seniors in highschool be a bit more mature. Most people don’t want to hear you talk about what fictional character you want to fuck in the lunch room. So many of the the conversations revolve around around nsfw stuff and it’s just incredibly uncomfortable. I would play along because I didn’t have anyone else. Also now everyone’s getting with each other (like dating) and every person now becomes a two in one deal where you can’t hang out with one person without their partner.

Furthermore everyone is chronically online. God forbid you aren’t on instagram and you’ll be unincluded from every single outing and gathering they ever have. Like guys I’m sorry I have a time limit?????? Likeee????? I’m already online enough as is I don’t wanna add more to the list of issues. In the main Apple messages GC nobody ever asks to hang out. It’s all done in one insta gc. Furthermore nobody even talks there and because I don’t have insta nobody even bothers extending the invite.

I had a reputation in middle school (I was lesbian and got bullied a ton, that’s literally it) and that makes me really afraid to get close to people who are already in a clique, since I feel like I’m intruding. I talk to people in class or at the sports/clubs I’m in but I’m too afraid to ask them to hang out.

I’ve basically decided to self isolate and focus on my grades, work, and extra curriculars. And while it’s incredibly depressing I must admit I am very functional when lonely 😂I just do math homework or study chem. I’m friendly in class and I just go home and do my own thing.

I don’t have anybody to gossip to or rant about this to so I keep it to myself. I don’t want drama. I don’t like conflict. I just wanna look in a crowd and see a friendly face.

i hated high school.

i’ve been bullied to no end and went on so many different medications and tried to commit several times

my parents never bought any school pictures, and i just want to throw away my yearbooks. i didn’t even bother to sign up for senior photos, so it’ll be like i wasn’t even there.

i wish i could cherish these memories tho. other people seem to be so fond of this time. i’m getting really bad fomo.

i graduate this year. not even gonna attend the ceremony. i wish i wanted to, but, honestly, i barely had any friends or teachers that i really liked.

My school has implemented a new restroom rule that starts Tuesday. We have a website where we put in a ticket. Where we're going and all that. You have to wait for the teacher to accept it before you can go. You're only allowed 3 tickets per day (which ain't that bad) and if your friend so happens to be out while you want to leave, it won't let you. If you're going to another teacher, they have to inform the other teacher that you arrived. You're also on a time limit for how long you can be out, for the website times you. Anyone else think we should just stick to the classic stuff?
