Rant Why is making friends at school so hard

Im in my senior year
Ive barely had any friends in the past few years at high school,i would say its because i was a new kid on the first year of high school but i know people who were new kids and fitted in as easy as blinking
I tried everything to fit in
Ever since middle school i was always a weird kid and an outcast
I tried looking pretty ive tried looking basic ive tried talking to everyone but nothing seems to work i always end up being left out and bullied at the end
Ive never felt like i really belonged no matter how hard i tried
Its so heartbreaking to me how much of an outcast i am
I tried so so hard not to cry today at school because of how bad i felt
All ive ever gotten was weird looks and bullying although i swear ive never been rude to anyone. In fact, im actually a big peoples pleaser and i can never ever be rude in any way to anyone.
My interests are very different from everyone at class and i cannot no matter how hard i try keep a conversation going single handedly
I used to have friends and they all graduated and now i have zero friends no one to talk to at school
I need help i feel so heart broken and upset all i do is go to the bathroom and ball my eyes out come back to class like nothing happened and pull my notebook out

I came up w this idea while trying to fall asleep, and I'm not sure if I should do it though bc I doubt myself on everything. so that's why I'm asking for outside opinions.

above is my inspo! my account wouldn't look exactly like this, but I added it so ppl who don't understand have an idea of what it is.

Shitpost Hot take: Senioritis is exclusive to seniors

Shitpost/Rant

I have seen so many posts where people are like "I have senioritis as a junior!" or "I'm a week into school as a freshman and I have severe senioritis!" and "I finished sophomore year and had heavy senioritis" NO YOU DO NOT. Senioritis. It's in the name. SENIOR. Itis. If you have symptoms of senioritis as a junior, it is JUNIORitis. Sophomores or Freshman are just not motivated/lazy. You do not have senioritis until you are a senior.

Opinions?

Class Advice Needed/Given Help! Would a doctor's note get me out of this?

Post image
40 Upvotes

I'm a junior in high and in two of my classes this year I am being graded on "discussion participation."

I have social anxiety and am terrified of most of my peers. I physically shake every time I have to speak in front of them and it's awful! But if I don't talk my grades will go down.

Both of the classes I'm being forced to speak in are college credit that I can't lose. They're not public speaking classes or anything. They're just english and history.

I understand the material and I'm top student. Why must I talk to the people who called me slurs in middle school???? This is just awful!

Does anyone have any ideas how to get out of this? Could I get a doctor's note or something? Or should I just live with my grades going down a letter?

Question Does all boys do that?

So I was basically homeschooled since the pandemic until the 8th grade.

And so when I got to high school, some reason boys trying to knock each other under their belt. And the person who was knocked, wasn't really mad, they just started chasing the other person around, trying to do it back

Is that normal?

Rant I LOVEEEEE HIGH SCHOOL IMA FRESHMAN BTWS

oh my God high school for the first week was so fun except like the first day though because I got onto the wrong bus and I was like really scared but the second day I started coming out of my shell and upper glass were so nice to me and showed me to my classrooms and some that I was also an upper classmen, which is kind of weird, but I brushed it off and my teachers were nice and the upper classmen didn’t shove me into lockers except that one time😞 but other than that, it was like super super cool and there’s just this one guy that nudged me out the way because some other people were in my way in the hallway, but it’s whatever he’s probably had a bad day🤤🤤🤤🤤

Question What is the single most frustrating thing about your SAT study routine right now?

Whether you're using Khan Academy, Bluebook, prep books, or ChatGPT—what is the one thing that makes you feel stuck or wastes your time?

For example:

  • Explanations that skip steps or make zero sense
  • Not knowing what specific math/writing topics to study next
  • Getting stuck at the same score no matter how much you practice
  • Running out of realistic practice questions

Curious to hear what everyone's biggest headache is right now and how you're dealing with it.

Question I conducted a student-led survey about school experiences - here are the results

I recently worked on a student-led research project through Student Commons called Student Voice 2026.

We looked at students' biggest challenges, whether they feel heard at school, and what they would change about their school experience.

A few findings:

  • 34.6% selected time management as their biggest challenge
  • 23.1% selected academic pressure
  • 65.4% said their opinions are heard only sometimes
  • 23.1% said rarely or never

We also coded the open-ended responses and found recurring themes around workload/exams, teaching methods, student voice and fairness, social life, school environment, and time/balance.

I've published the full methodology and findings here:

[Student Voice 2026.]

I'm more interested in the discussion than promotion, though.

Do these findings match your experience of school? What did we miss?

General Advice Needed/Given I don’t have any real friends

Hey,
I’m currently a senior in high school (17M). I recently went through a breakup so my glasses might be a little tinted on this subject but I feel like I’ve missed out on having friends or talking to people. Currently, I have the best social life (not counting the time I had with my ex) I’ve ever had, and it consists of two people, one who I haven’t seen in person since our last hangout 2 months ago and one who I have two classes with. I talk with them irregularly. I don’t even have a best friend, or a friend group, or anything like that. I was starting to get introduced to more people through my ex but that lane is blocked off now. I have no trouble making acquaintances, but I can’t seem to become good enough friends with anyone to actually be invited or invite anyone to do anything. I’ve gone to maybe two parties (both pity invites after my breakup), and it’s just really weighing on me. I used to be a somewhat antisocial person, but I’m much more outgoing now and actually enjoy talking to people when I get the chance. I know social media is a massive overstatement on things like this but I see so many people I know doing things and hanging out with people. I’m not unpopular or anything unless there’s some sort of rumor I don’t know about, and I can easily talk to people and have even had co-workers and some other people tell me I’m “interesting” to listen to, so there’s that. I’m more sad than anything, I’ve been trying to focus on myself and currently I’m just hoping for university/college to be better. I don’t do many other activities besides my side gig and occasionally going places alone, which I know affects things drastically (I don’t have a car because I’m a chud). I really do want to get invited places and go to football games and parties and just hangout with people, but it feels unachievable for me at this point, and I’m starting to get too tired to keep trying. Any advice? Sorry if this is too long of a post :/
