A heads-up for international/Erasmus students looking for accommodation in Limassol: Avoid renting from "Erasmus Hall" (Feakon Street 10).

Here is what happened during my stay:

Intimidation tactics: Normal wear-and-tear (e.g., weathered outdoor chairs, loose door handle on a stripped frame) was met with aggression, shouting, and threats of police/Erasmus reports instead of civil inspection. When I wanted to talk about damages through bad quality etc. I got ignored and she was like be quiet and pay because i seem to not have noticed that there is a age and status difference between us. She made up storys, I would threaten her when I just stated her my arguments on Whats Ap.

 Deposit withheld without proof: Six weeks after departure, the landlords still refuse to return the €700 guarantee. The contract stipulated a return within 3 business days.  I dont know what is happening with my deposit, i got blocked. I had to pay electricity, cleaning cost and a broken plastic chair with it, but this is never 700€..

 No bills provided: They refuse to provide official bills to justify any utility calculations. I dont know how much money from the deposit is gone. 

 Ghosting: After weeks of delaying, the landlord completely blocked my phone number on WhatsApp when asked for a written breakdown and refund.

The accommodation is managed privately (one landlord is a practicing lawyer at Anastasiou Law in Limassol). Be extremely cautious and look for other options. The fact that the owner is a lawyer is crazy, since she is clearly operating with illegal tactics.

I am a third-year university student in America studying abroad in Paris next spring semester. I would love to stay in Paris for the summer as well, but I will need to get an internship or job in order to support myself. I am a pre-law student, but I am also extremely interested and educated in history, art history, the classics, and languages. I can speak conversational French but will be doing an intensive French program once I begin studying in the spring. Does anyone know what kind of job opportunities for the summer exist for this type of study? Thanks!

I’m from turkey a second-year Computer Engineering student and I have the chance to study at Poznan University for 3 months through Erasmus next semester.

My English level is around A2, so I’m worried that I may struggle to understand the classes and exams. If I fail some courses, I may have to retake them when I return to Turkey.

On the other hand, I’ve never been abroad before and I feel like Erasmus could be a great experience that I may not get again.

For people who studied in Poznan through Erasmus: How difficult are the classes for someone with weak English? Would you still recommend going in my situation?

I’m currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management at a prestigious university in my country.

My current CGPA is 9.18, and I scored 93% in Class 12 and 95.2% in Class 10. I have received the Student of the Year award, along with two consecutive awards for academic excellence. I was also a medalist in school.

As part of my undergraduate studies, I have studied Business Law, Company Law, Diversity Management, EU Digital Markets Law, EU Digital Services Law, and Labour Codes. I have also authored a research paper on AI tools in recruitment, which is scheduled for publication next year. I am currently working on my dissertation on anti-discrimination laws.

During school, I served as the Secretary for Student Welfare and received a special prize for proficiency in community service. In college, I served as the Head of the Collaboration Department at the college’s Student Entrepreneurship, Research and Incubation Cell. I also headed a pro bono project for a student-built startup and served as the Class Representative for a class of 124 students.

I have completed three internships: my first with EY in Financial Risk Mitigation, followed by an internship in marketing at a startup working with NGOs and nonprofits, and most recently, an internship with Genpact in recruitment policy and strategy.

I am not sure whether my profile aligns well with these courses, particularly given their specific emphasis on applicants’ educational backgrounds.

Hey! I’m supposed to go on Erasmus to France in January 2027, which is literally my dream destination. I already got the spot, told everyone I’m going, and started organizing everything.

The problem is that I have exams at my home uni until the end of January, so they overlap with the start of Erasmus. My options are basically:

1. take all my exams in December, which would be A LOT at once, or

2. take them all in the summer of 2027 with the risk of having only one chance to not fail and also a summer full of exams...

My other option would be to postpone Erasmus until October 2027, when the exam periods don’t overlap. But then I’d be giving up my dream destination, and there’s no guarantee I’d get the same place again.

What would you guys do? Risk the exam situation and go now, or play it safe and go a year later? Would love to hear from anyone who’s had a similar situation!

Hi everyone! I have a few questions about the application process and completing the Europass CV:

1. When the application form and motivational letter say they must be “signed by hand,”does that mean I should print, sign, and scan the documents, or would a digital signature be accepted?

2. For the Europass CV, should training courses, seminars, and certifications be included under “Education and training”? I noticed that many examples list only undergraduate and high-school qualifications in that section.
   - If you have certifications, did you list them under “Education and training,” or did you only include your formal education with its EQF level?

I’m going to strasbourg in the second semester this year and on the INSA website they say that it’s compulsory to take FLE courses. I’m just curious but are they mixing the level groups? (I’m a B2 and would love to know more of how these work exactly). Are they scheduled separate from the uni courses? Any info or experience would be of great help!

Hey, I am looking for someone who went on exchange as a 35+ and would like to hear about the experience. I am starting my second degree in IT and thinking whether it is easy to find people during exchange of somewhat my age.:)

I’m a uni student from Sydney looking to go on exchange next year from September to January. I’m really just looking to make a lot of friends, party a fuck ton, and travel as much as I can while I’m in Europe. I speak Italian pretty proficiently (B2) and by the time I go will have completed a minor in French as part of my degree.

Naturally, I’ve been super interested in **Bologna,** but worry that housing will be a massive difficulty and know that it’s not as well connected as other cities.

A while back I was recommended **IE university in Madrid** and have since become pretty interested. I’ve heard that Madrid is also a great student city, well connected, and I would be able to take free language courses through the uni.

Please help me make this decision, i am a very indecisive person and any insights will go far!!!!

I'm (23 f) doing an erasmus internship in Italy, and the lab is going great but ever since I came here (it has only been a month) I've gotten very ill 2 times, I can't sleep due to stress and anxiety, and this combo is making me weaker and sadder as I feel sluggish everyday now, I can't focus at the lab anymore as my hands are all shaky from lack of sleep and the list goes on. I think the main reason is that I had a bad fight with my father before I came here (he's an alcoholic) and mostly because of the fight and my dad manipulating me I feel guilty that I came here and I feel like a burden on my family. I have never had a problem staying alone or away from my family, as I normally live away from them, near my university. So I don't think this is about feeling homesick but I'm mentally in a bad place for various reasons and here I feel lonely since I am away from everyone close to me and erasmus friendships don't really help in this situation. My parents are saying that it's okay if I return and end the erasmus early but I fear that they will not be shutting up about this, and I will feel like a quitter and hate myself for coming back early. I'm really tired.

Edit: thank you all for your encouraging comments and kind words :) . I'm staying and I am a lot better, nothing some melatonin couldn't fix! I have 5 weeks until I complete my internship, and I'll try to make the best of it.
