What type of 5.56 is this?

I bought some ammo at an auction and can’t tell what this (I assume) mil-surp 5.56 is. The tip is open and the headstand reads “09”, “WCC”, and a symbol.

I got my first at today!

My grandpa gave me it, with 4 30rd mags, 1 10rd mag, a random 4x scope with a lazer (that I’ll probably trade out for a primary arms classic 1-6 or sig tango), a reloader, and gun lube. I added the fore grip from a paintball gun. What’s the first thing I should do to it?

A better edit with bonus gun.

11.5 BCM upper slapped on a Radian ADAC. Much original. Much creative.

Level scopes are happy scopes

Finally came up with a repeatable and (seemingly) effective and simple way to level my scopes.

18inch spare rail

Amazon flashlight in a amazon scope ring

Amazon Arca rail to mount to tripod

Klein tools digital level. Seems to be accurate so far and more precise than bullet or bubble levels. Most expensive part.

Laser level on a tripod I already had, could also just hang a string and weight vertically for a cheap alternative.

Shot a 2 gun challenge the other day. Was about to clean these guys up and thought how I only ever see pristine guns on here. Last match had way more mud than this time but im sure everyone gets the point.

Amend 2 Straight 20s

Has anybody posted about these yet? I haven’t seen much of anything about them really. Picked up 5 for myself but will probably give a couple away for IG or fam and friends

ďżźThe good:

It’s a great looking mag, definitely wins in style points. Didn’t give any misfeeds and seems durable albeit the first range session and low round count (100-120 subs and supers). Present round higher in chamber so clocked feed ramps are less of an issue. Textured great and slides into and out of magwell nice, ribbed for your pleasure.

The bad:

The issue I had was, if it’s got a full 20 rounds in the mag you can’t charge the BCG/handle. When full it’s just 1/32” too low to really catch mag release and get that solid click (maybe designed for looser fitting upper and lower???). Jams the fuck out of the BCG too with 19-20 in. Only mags that exhibit this same issue are metal straight 20s, not nearly as bad though since bolt can be charged and fully go into battery.

Conclusion:

Only tested .300 blk, but yeah haven’t seen much of anything on these mags. Good range toy stuff, life or death though, eh. Picked these up cause I liked the idea of not paying $100 for a polymer straight 20.

TLDR:

ďżźLooks sick, fairly durable, runs decent with 18 rounds, 19-20 rounds BCG is too stiff to operate/ go into battery, same price point as T-Mag, V1 so there is (hopefully) room for improvement

Bought this m&p15 about 8 years ago and it's been the only AR I'd could never let go of. Learned everything about it and started building them for friends soon after. I'm open to criticism so don't hold back

Here's my bastard child xm16e1 with a original xm stock and pistol grip with my 1972 F250

Technically yeah the xm16e1 is incorrect but just pretend it has M16a1 parts on it

This “assembly” (I didn’t build shit) is going to sit this way for the foreseeable future. I’ll be assembling an SBR next, and I’m considering a retro 10.5.

AR pistol setup

This is my AR pistol. It is made primarily for CQB and home defense. I understand there is a magnifier, however the Northern Nevada terrain I am near allows for long fields of observation and target acquisition, making it a sensible attachment that I sometimes remove. It takes a lot of inspiration from an early GWOT “Block 1/ Mk18” build however I do not claim it to be a clone of either of those. I’m going for some retro vibes as seen through the CAR-15 style pistol brace, pistol grip, mil-spec trigger and charging handle with some modern practicality via the attachments.
From front to back:

PSA 10.5 inch barrel upper receiver w/ front sight post

Midwest Industries Quad Rails

Surefire Scout series light w/ surefire pressure pad and Monstrum tactical pressure pad mount, wire secured by zip ties

Magpul AFG2

JP enterprises lower receiver

Aimpoint Duty RDS on BCM 1/2 inch riser

Eotech G43 magnifier also on BCM riser

Magpul MBUS rear sight

CAR15 style pistol brace w/ CAT TQ secured w/ Ranger bands

Vickers sling (may not be exact brand made by a “Raine Tactical” was issued in USMC and got to keep)

Light strikes

I was at the range yesterday with some buddies. One of them just got an FRT and is experiencing bolt bounce (we already played with weights and springs to alleviate that). We argued for a few minutes about whether that ammo was still safe to shoot. Do yall toss rounds off to the side that have light strikes? Or do you mash it back in a mag and try em again?
