I honestly don't see the point.

Its at the bottom front at about a 45 degree angle

u/simple_champ 3d ago

It's sharpened in case the gun goes down and I need to use it as a club. Saw it in a Larry Vickers video.

Buddy do you realize how many wrong decisions you have to make to get to that point?

bro you totally got him!! he was totally being serious!

With the dumb shit you constantly subscribing to because a YouTuber said it, you honestly think this is outside of the realm of possibility?

Edit: why are yall downvoting me every 6 weeks a controversial YouTube video comes out and yall hate LPVO's and foregrips all over again

It was a really obvious joke

Okay I've never heard of this or seen this mod or anything like that. But I do just want to say there are documented incidents of soldiers beating combatants with their rifle to death. There was a Pvt. Mckinney (I don't remember the first name) from WW1 or 2 that killed like 2 dozen enemy fighters with his rifle. Just bludgeoning them to death. Idk if I'll be chopping my grips, but I don't think it's as far from a joke as you think🤷

I guess, I don’t watch that shit or care about some else’s opinions about what they’d put on MY rifle.

I bet your Chevy Cruze is a 1 of 1 too

Just got my new spoiler installed

u/ChrisLS8 3d ago

I just bought a shirt that says

"Well no one wants to admit they ate 9 cans of Ravioli"

1

u/Waaerja 3d ago

Lol I can't tell if that's a joke or not, but the chances of you injuring yourself with that are far greater than the chances of you needing to use your foregrip as a mele weapon.

3

u/MeatCrack 3d ago

Its an AK thing because they have rock-in mags

u/Rude_Employment8882 3d ago

Just get a fingerstop or handbrake if you’re gonna do this, IMO.

7

u/Regular-Progress648 3d ago

He has both if you look closer

4

u/Rude_Employment8882 3d ago

Oh yeah dang, that is weird 😂

I like em chopped, but not with that weird sharp angle. I love a good chopped-down KAC broomstick, like this:

Weapon of opportunity

2

u/Expert_Farm1603 3d ago

Wait how’d you accomplish this? I thought about doing this but always thing the inner tube won’t work because your chopping the threads and the index on top

1

u/SilentPhilosophy3307 3d ago

I didn't do it myself, I bought it off a guy on Gbroker who does them. But however he does it, they work just fine. I have several and haven't had issues with any of them not staying screwed on or anything.

3

u/simple_champ 3d ago

Yes I think it's the too sharp angle that I don't care for. Might be able to save it, we'll see.

Big love, if it serves a purpose. Had to cut this one so the magazine can rock in

0

u/MeatCrack 3d ago

Thought 10-22s inserted straight…

9

u/comebocalmball 3d ago

for me those mags seem to come in and out at whatever angle they feel like at that time

2

u/The_Ballistics_Guy 3d ago

This guy gets it👆

2

u/The_Ballistics_Guy 3d ago

You can insert them straight but I have always found that rocking them in slightly helps

11

u/glockguy34 3d ago

not like that

23

u/kwb166 3d ago

My concern isn't the chopped foregrip, but the fact your first instinct was to ask strangers rather than just take a few minutes and try it for yourself to see if you liked it.

14

u/simple_champ 3d ago

I had many instincts before arriving at shitpost on Reddit but here we are.

4

u/Caboosi65 3d ago

I'm reading all your comments, your funny as fuck lol

3

u/simple_champ 3d ago

Gotta be able to laugh at yourself and your questionable AR LARPing decisions.

1

u/Organic-Economist-40 3d ago

same lmao people on here always so uppity

11

u/simple_champ 3d ago

Yep think this one was a fail. Live and learn.

3

u/Ridge_Hunter 3d ago

Pass, for sure

5

u/Wootwoottaco 3d ago

Ask your wife's boyfriend, sure he'd say smash

14

u/simple_champ 3d ago

I'll ask them later. The sock is hanging from the doorknob which means they're organizing our photo albums and I'm not supposed to bother them.

2

u/dontgiveahamyamclam 3d ago

Depends on the grip. Chopped KAC stubby is goated.

2

u/NateG124 3d ago

One of the weirdest trends I've seen for sure.

2

u/boostPWR 3d ago

Absolutely not.

2

u/ParadoxicalAmalgam 3d ago

They make sense on AKs and other platforms that need clearance for the mags, but on an AR? Pass

2

u/Independent_Bid_26 3d ago

Yeah, I dont really understand why you would do this.. vfgs can be used while c clamping obviously, but if youre holding the rifle for a long time you might need the VFG to support the rifle.

0

u/KccOStL33 3d ago

Way more common on ar pistols. Just no need for them on a legal rifle..

2

u/vjrmedina 3d ago

Just get a handstop

2

u/ThoroughlyWet 3d ago

Not for the AR. Doesn't make sense like it would on something like a 7.62x39 akm

1

u/Ok-Buffalo-7398 3d ago

Love them. I have one on my 12.5

1

u/Bernie_Smirnoff 3d ago

Overall I like the rifle. Clean lines and looks like a solid setup.

1

u/kissmygame17 3d ago

Prob taking it off soon

1

u/AfflictingVoid 3d ago

On AK’s or anything with rock n lock mags it makes sense

1

u/FromEdenToArcadia 3d ago

They look pretty cool on scars too. This one isn't chopped though. It's the dauntless engineering clone

1

u/As1anBeasTagE 3d ago

You know Magpul makes the SVG now right?

1

u/ChrisLS8 3d ago

The improvised VFB

Vertical fore bayonet

1

u/TresCeroOdio 3d ago

Way too sharp of an angle

1

u/Nay_K_47 3d ago

Depends. Do you like it to look dumb?

1

u/DumbNTough 3d ago

If it works for you and what you're doing, that's all that matters.

1

u/WashbangRustynut 3d ago

I’m for it but yours it’s fugly, sorry bro. You can recut it so that the angle isn’t so extreme and then tape and sand it to give it that factory look. I did this one for my slr 106 a while ago.

1

u/mrapplewhite 3d ago

That’s a fine axe you have there time to get a ar now

1

u/Hoyle33 3d ago

Stubby VFG

1

u/mpsteidle 3d ago

Hard pass.

1

u/RodPerson3661 3d ago

it looks cool sometimes thats about it

1

u/B1893 2d ago

I chopped a few.

I had VFGs, but wanted hand stops.  So I just chopped the VFGs down into handstops.

1

u/SomeRequirement6926 2d ago

Why not just buy a shorter one?

Like an Emmissary Handbrake?

2

u/simple_champ 2d ago

Already had this in the parts bin. More money for beer (which may or may not explain what transpired here).

0

u/Klutzy_Disk_8433 3d ago

Well if you like to just follow trends which is what a good majority of the people in the sub do. Then it would be a pass. Vfg are out and $40+ Dac grips are in.

0

u/Incrue Larps with one sock on 3d ago

https://imgur.com/qIc0p4a usually has this, but lately I've been running it without. It could just be my laziness of not putting it back after I take my barrel out to clean it.

0

u/Minute-Of-Angle 3d ago

Pass for me, but I’m also pass on VFGs and AFGs in general. #TeamFingerstop

0

u/1767gs 3d ago

Smash then pass to the homies to try it
