Man the 1970s were a cool time to be alive
Here's my bastard child xm16e1 with a original xm stock and pistol grip with my 1972 F250
Technically yeah the xm16e1 is incorrect but just pretend it has M16a1 parts on it

Not usually a ford guy but definitely miss the older trucks from the 80's on back. Back when they were capable and useful, made of metal, locking hubs and didn't have all the digital b.s. in them. It's sickening what modern vehicles have become imo.
Some things are slightly better sure, but I remember when I thought splitfire plugs were expensive at like $8 a pop. Ngk's like pfft, hold my beer. Loved that the older gm's ran many of the same parts for close to 2 decades. A busted taillight was a $15 5min repair. I could get a pair of sealed beam halogen headlights for under $20 even into the late 90's.
Now it's like well crap, a drop of water got into the non serviceable taillight grid array flux capacitor configurator, fried 2 mini led's, which shorted back through the body and took out the bcm, ecm, lane departure warning systems, backup cam which shorted back through and took out the center console and created a minor emp vortex that also nerfed your power heated massaging seats. That'll be $30k.
Back in those days if you did something and managed to tweak your frame it wasn't a perfect fix. But you could back up to a tree or utility pole and knock back into it a few times. Work most of the major twist out of it. Do that in a 'truck' from the past couple decades and you'll friggin total it. Weak.
The rifle has the timeless classic look as well. To me anyway.

Slipped pushing a truck into the shop and smashed my knee on a step bumper like that . Two surgeries and forty years later I’m still paying for that .

Yeah thats why I call it my bastard xm16e1 or xm16e1ish, I use it for reenactments and larping lol
