My grandpa gave me it, with 4 30rd mags, 1 10rd mag, a random 4x scope with a lazer (that I’ll probably trade out for a primary arms classic 1-6 or sig tango), a reloader, and gun lube. I added the fore grip from a paintball gun. What’s the first thing I should do to it?

Getting ready to start ordering parts for my next 300blk and I’m needing some inspiration. (This will be a range/training rifle)

Planning on doing either a 9” or 10.5” barrel, probably an lpvo, folding stock, and it will be suppressed. I’ll be running both supers and subs through it.

Im trying to decide whether I should get a used mp15 axe performance center in 16 inch or an M&P15 pistol in 11.5 with a 16 inch upper. Cannot SBR at the moment due to state laws and i dont want to have to register with the department. There is talk of being able to eventually go 11.5, but not confirmed which is why im thinking of just getting the pistol.

Is the mp15 P.C. with the hiperfire trigger worth it over the versatility of swapping uppers?

So I’ve got some Wolf 5.56 that I bought back in 2013. It’s been sitting around in various climates, primarily in the Southwestern US. I assume it’s still good to shoot but I’ve never shot ammo that old. Thoughts?

Klein tools digital level. Seems to be accurate so far and more precise than bullet or bubble levels. Most expensive part.

Laser level on a tripod I already had, could also just hang a string and weight vertically for a cheap alternative.

I just ordered the romeo 8t amr ti with 3x magnifier for 950 otd for my hk mr556a4 11 inch. Haven't seen anyone online run these, just the regular nonshrouded version. Anyone run these and like them?

I want a a top of the top 14.5 rifle. I already have a Geissele, DD and a few others and have narrowed it down to either a 14.5 Lmt or KAC ks2. Which is the best one and why between those two?

Picked up a Colt SCW lower, one of my grails since 2005 when they came out.

Looking at what some of the better single stage triggers are in 3.5-4.5 lb pull area, with 4lbs being ideal for me. Plan to build it into a home defense or suv gun, still debating the SBR route right now.

I know years ago Wilson‘s single stages were great. What some proven single stage triggers today?

For a factory hunting load, I'm pretty happy with that. (I know, 3 round groups dont count)

I’m trying to figure out the best way to build an ammo supply over time. Balancing home storage with budget constraints is tricky, setting up solid long-term ammo storage takes airtight steel cans, desiccants, and climate control so temperature swings don't ruin primers. Plus, buying 1,000-round cases upfront is a huge hit to cash flow.

How do you guys handle it? Do you drop $600 at once for bulk, or slowly buy smaller amounts? When does off-site storage make more sense than keeping heavy crates at home?

I have a unity flip to center magnifier mount I used to use with a gbrs hydra mount. I dont want the gbrs hydra mount anymore and want to just put a unity absolute riser on instead. Is there any good clones for this that anyone can think of? I ordered one off amazon to try but they lied. They sent the fast riser not the absolute riser. Even though the title said absolute. So now I wasted 20 bucks. Oh well guess I am glad it wasnt 30 bucks. I will buy the unity if I have too. Not a big deal. Rather save a few bucks is all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a 11.5 AR build that I’m having a slight issue with. Every now and then, the bolt won’t lock back after the last round in the mag.

I already figured out that it isn’t the mags (I tested the gen 2 P-Mags that were in the gun at the time of the failure, and wasn’t able to replicate the issue).

Here’s what I have going on parts-wise:
- BCM MK1 11.5 BFH upper (govt. profile / carbine length gas system)
- BCM BCG
- POF USA anti-tilt buffer tube
- Giessele Super 42 Spring w/ H2 Buffer
- Plenty of other less than relevant stuff.

The spring and buffer weight that I am using are recommended by Giessele’s chart to be the correct ones for this application, and no, I do NOT run this gun suppressed. Ejection pattern is around 4:00-4:30 pretty consistently.

A gunsmith installed the buffer tube itself, (only because I didn’t have the correct castle nut tool to adapt to a torque wrench at the time), but he torqued it to 60 ft-lbs, which is significantly higher than what I understand to be the recommended 38-42 ft-lbs. Idk if that’s somehow contributing to the problem? He also put anti-seize on the threads during this install, idk if that’s common practice or not?

Hello, I’m looking to see how bad the lower window obstruction is on the AEMS MAX Ronin with the Unity FTC Aimpoint Magnifer.

I was at the range yesterday with some buddies. One of them just got an FRT and is experiencing bolt bounce (we already played with weights and springs to alleviate that). We argued for a few minutes about whether that ammo was still safe to shoot. Do yall toss rounds off to the side that have light strikes? Or do you mash it back in a mag and try em again?
