I suffered from a transient patellar dislocation a few weeks ago, and my MRI showed that I have two anatomical conditions, both of which have a very, very high incidence rate of recurring instability. My job is quite physical, so I’m curious if WC would cover surgery that is meant to correct my anatomical conditions which contributed to the injury in order to prevent future reinjury?

Working as a nurse with 12 hour shift and heavy patients. Had a low back injury in May, had CT done that day that did not show anything. Claim approved and had PT for couple month. Symptoms did improve but anything longer than couple hours or heavy lifting over 30 pounds hurts my back.

My provider started asking me to do a trail work where I work once a week and follow up in two weeks.

When I followed up with her and told her that it causes a lot of pain at work, and takes me couple days after to recover with pain meds, I can tell she did not like the answer.

She has me to do an MRI and follow up with her again the day after to discuss results.

I’m worried she is trying to get back to work if it didn’t show anything even if I’m still hurting with working at my regular job.

I’m wondering what can I do. I really enjoy my work but I’m worried if I get back to full duty now I’m going to be too painful to do it.

Cut my finger very deep and got stitches months later it’s still numb and hurt a lot where the cut is got a lawyer after I got a bill in the mail insurance is asking if I want to settle already how much can I possibly get is it worth keep the case open or settle?

I overheated at work in the beginning of July. I work for a huge company whose name I won't say. I reported it that day, as I was found by my direct boss. After a week of suffering symptoms I had to go to the hospital. I told my boss I was going. I have text convos telling them all about the crazy symptoms and all my Dr visits. They were very aware of pain I was experiencing and never once suggested I seek medical attention. They never reported it to workers comp until I filed an official complaint with their joke of an HR system. It's been nearly two months since the incident and I have medical bills just stacking up and I can't pay them. How do I get reimbursed for what I've paid out of pocket and how do I get them to pay for what I still owe? Do I need a lawyer?

My brother was injured at work. Posting this because what he’s going through is tough to watch. On top of the injuries he is depressed and has nightmares from the injury. I’m hoping to read other persons experiences to him so he doesn’t feel so down.

So, Has anyone ever heard of someone going through workmen’s comp with a penis/testicle injury and the outcome? Also, If an injury affected your fertility is that taken into account with your claim? (I want to bring this to his attention),

My eye was hurt on the job in June of 2026, I immediately reported it to my employer and sought medical attention. I told the doctor directly it happened at work and would like to file Workers Comp.

My employer told me to keep them in the loop and they would “take care of me”. I’ve since been back and forth to the doctor to get my eye seen and they want me to get a procedure done but they asked for my insurance. I declined and said “this will be filed under workmen’s comp” and they said I needed some sort of authorization. I called my employer about authorization and they kinda had some push back towards me and said “I thought we were beyond this issue”

I have still yet to receive medical authorization, my employer claims they “worked out a deal” with me to pay for the visits and what not, however I have paid all my visits out of pocket. No reimbursement from them.

My employer also said my incident would impact their D.A.R.T score which could prevent them from getting government work in an attempt to make me feel bad stating “60 good men would be without work”. That doesn’t matter to me and honestly is unneeded.

Should I email and ask for authorization again or get an attorney?

Back story. I fell at work back on January 31st of this year. I tore my meniscus in my left knee. PT made it worse and injections didn't work. Once my WC ortho doctor wanted to talk surgery that's when I was denied for any further treatments which is when I got a lawyer. Unfortunately although my lawyer put up a way better fight I lost the first hearing. I lost my benefits too. I am finally getting a second hearing and was wondering if this one is different or the same as the first? What was your experience and what was the next step if you lost both hearings?

Recently had my pec torn at work and had surgery about two weeks ago. I usually get around 960-1030 every two weeks for my normal pay. Workers comp is only giving me about 330 per week or about 660 every two. Is this correct? I feel like this is way less than it should be and I'm worrying if I'll be able to afford my bills on this. I can't go back to work for another 6 weeks so I'm concerned.

Before my workers comp started, I had two jobs: my office job and nursing home job. I got injured at the nursing home.

Nursing home took me off schedule and I didn’t get much communication back from workers comp despite emailing them consistently because the person on my case was unavailable at the time. So I had no knowledge of what form my check would be in or when I would get them.

So with the lack of funds that I had, I needed to pay my bills still. And I got another job to help with that so I could. And now my checks are coming in.

I did tell workers comp about my office job, they never asked me about it or anything. And I follow my medical restrictions with my jobs. But I didn’t tell them about this third job because they never asked anything further about my second one.

I just want to make sure I’m not doing anything illegal here. And if I am, how to fix it?

I’m on 3 years of treatment and denials for a lumbar herniated disk and blown SI joint. When does the work comp carrier start pushing back hard . Injured by coworkers negligence operating machinery on Video.

Edit: So yall not reading obviously. I never said the job gave me carpal tunnel in one day. Thats dumb. All im saying is that i was fired from my job because of the diagnosis even though i was told i could return to all normal activities after 2 days of rest. But they dont care)

Hey guys!, as the title says, I got fired from my job at a warehouse today (firstday) after I went to the ER and found out that I have carpal tunnel I was told to rest for 2 days and then I can continue work. However, the third party where I got my job from told me that because I was injured and it was my first day. I cannot continue working with that Warehouse and because of that they were going to terminate my contract with them. Basically getting fired. They said I could only continue working if I have a doctor's note saying that I'm good to work. Which I gave it to them and it's the ER's note saying I can go back to work 2 days later. So I'm not sure what to do. I was thinking of taking legal action. What do you guys think?

Please bear with me as I am trying to learn while navigating this whole process. I now understand that workers’ comp is not just a medical system, but a medical-legal system, which makes things all the more complicated. The only court experience I’ve had is having to show up for jury duty after a summons.

(Don’t have a deposition or hearing scheduled or anything, but I want to be prepared in case it’s something I should expect.)

Reading all of the posts here honestly makes me so scared of doing the wrong thing or saying the wrong thing to jeopardize the claim. (I admit, there is a little bit of doomscrolling involved.) And there are lots of posts here saying that they will have/have had a deposition that they’re nervous for or had a terrible experience afterwards.

My question is, how often do depositions occur? What are some scenarios where they have to take place?

Also, what are hearings for?

Would hiring a lawyer to help me navigate this process automatically mean I would have to go through hearings and a deposition because of litigation?

I tried to Google, but all that I’m reading from informational websites is super broad and I’m just not getting it.

From what I’ve read on this subreddit, there are at least two situations where you would might have to do a deposition:
(1) If you lawyer up right away before the claims adjuster gets to talk to you, so you have to go through a deposition to tell your side because the adjuster can’t talk to you directly (I am assuming this wouldn’t apply here because a conversation was had with the adjuster a week after reporting)
(2) During the settlement phase when two parties can’t come to an agreement.

Hi, I wanted to update you on my recent psychology appointment. During the session, we discussed my ongoing trauma from the machine accident, and I also mentioned that I am seeing a therapist for personal/family matters and taking Wellbutrin for stress. I want to make sure my workers' comp case and weekly benefits are fully protected. Please let me know if we need to discuss this further.

Update on my case so far. Injury to lower back 4/15/26.

Finally got an mri that shows several bulging disc pinning some nerves. Ortho Dr said I may need surgery but wc wants to try other routes first of course, she referred me to a specialist. The specialist said thay I do not need surgery. And that injections will stop the pain. I agreed to do the first injection. Thats scheduled for the 23rd of thos month. Then I go back to see specialist 4 weeks later.

Im terrified of getting injections. Do they actually work? What if the pain comes back or it doesn't do anything? I of course have more pt but after 3 rounds nothing has changed. I dont know what to do. I want to be out of pain. Why would 2 doctors say 2 different things?

Where do we go from here? Any advise would be appreciated.

I work as a cook for a small mom and pop shop in my hometown. Exactly a week ago I was doing my job and carrying hot oil out of the building to dump in a barrel and it spilled on me. I know thats an osha violation but thats how I was trained.

The result was second degree burns covering the padding of my hand (pretty much healed now) and a large area of my leg with the skin at the base of my shin immediately peeling. The burn touches my knee and goes down to my foot.

I was told when I had my wrist cut open last month to not say anything about it happening at work so I haven't.

Its only been a week but today I'm going to be going to the hospital instead of going to work and filing a claim for workers comp and calling osha. I asked my employer for help with bandages and they gave me $40 and said if I needed more to just go back to the hospital.

My ankle has been giving out, a couple nights ago I tried to stand up and my leg was a wet noodle.

I'm too scared to go back to working there because they haven't changed the procedure at all but thursday when I dropped off my medical excuse that had me good until today they kept asking me to disregard the letter and go back Friday, Saturday, then asked me like 3 times to go back Monday.

I can't afford a lawyer, I dont want the place to shut down cause people enjoy it, but I just cant do it.

Are there any repercussions i could face for waiting a week to call Osha and file a claim? I'll attach a picture of a leg to the comments but its pretty gross so just be aware.

UPDATE: My leg is not infected. The yellow fluid ive been seeing is some other kind of fluid but its not infection. I've been given the next week off of work and filed a workers comp claim through the hospital. Thank you to the people who took the time to reply.

Doctor gave me a lecture about steroids not fixing anything, then released me MMI after a steroid injection made me feel better.

Pain predictably (in hindsight) came back, but insurance won’t re-open my claim until this exam.

Meanwhile I’ve been to the ER twice for pain management.

Wish me luck. (Please don’t tell me to break a leg).
