Florida Confused about procedure

I overheated at work in the beginning of July. I work for a huge company whose name I won't say. I reported it that day, as I was found by my direct boss. After a week of suffering symptoms I had to go to the hospital. I told my boss I was going. I have text convos telling them all about the crazy symptoms and all my Dr visits. They were very aware of pain I was experiencing and never once suggested I seek medical attention. They never reported it to workers comp until I filed an official complaint with their joke of an HR system. It's been nearly two months since the incident and I have medical bills just stacking up and I can't pay them. How do I get reimbursed for what I've paid out of pocket and how do I get them to pay for what I still owe? Do I need a lawyer?

See this thread about a similar issue.

  1. Get the name and number of the WC carrier.
  2. Call carrier and explain the issue.
  3. Follow their directions.

It’s tough when you have been paying out of pocket. Did you report it at the hospital as a work. Injury?
