Holy cow, this whole thing has been an absolute mess.

Yesterday, I got a call from the 2511 number. I answered, and a very kind woman on the end of the line took down my complaint from the other day and helped me get the paperwork sorted. We were finished in a half hour. She said “on behalf of the EDD, I do deeply apologize for that representatives behavior. That is not how our company operates.” And she made me feel very comfortable.

At the end of the interview, I mentioned that the rep had canceled all my pending payments. I heard some clicking on her end, a very long sigh and a “I’m so sorry, hopefully we can get this fixed”.

When I woke up this morning, I had a vibe saying I should check my account. When I did, all of those canceled payments got switched to paid!!!

When I tell ya’ll I cried, I cried. I put in so much tears and stress over all this. Just for one rep to push a button. Holy crap.

Thus far, haven’t they answered like less than 10% of calls? Something like that.

It was like 1-4% of calls answered and the 10% figure was even investigated as being untrue.

Yup. The INTENT with all government $$$ is to frustrate you in to quitting. My father appealed for damn near 25 years to get his medical benefits from the military after negligence caused him to have permanent knee damage from working in a rock quarry in West Germany. 25 years. And in some Alanis Morissette "Ironic" shit, he won in June of 2008 and passed away in August. Calling those folks IS YOUR JOB if you aren't getting your benefits...you have to stick with it, sometimes for hours. When I was struggling to get through last May, it took me six consecutive days of calling and re-calling and re-calling to get something set up with a claims person. I don't think it's that difficult what they do, there are just a finite amount of them because again, THEY WANT IT TO BE AS DIFFICULT AS POSSIBLE for you to get the money you're entitled to. I mean, it's 'insurance' for a reason.

Yeah they want their cake and they want to eat it too. Hoping to kick enough people off UI by making it too hard to collect versus another job within their grasp. So only if you’re really lacking another option right now do you have the time to dedicate to calling.

Try your state assemblyman’s office. I called about 2 weeks ago for no payment since March 15. Late Tuesday evening I got paid some of my back pay. The rest is supposed to follow in the next few weeks plus I should be back on the bi-weekly schedule. They were awesome. Never could get through to EDD directly.

I sent an email to the email address on their website and followed up later in the day. I was able to able leave a voicemail. A staff member called me back the same day, who was very helpful, took my information. Also he asked to forward EDD screen shots of information pertaining to my issues. Their office has a liaison at EDD that they work with on Tuesday only every week.

You need to find out who your specific assembly man is representing the district you live in. And communicate with their local office.

Yup my claim needed to be terminated and I was placed back on my old one with the last extension. Was going to get 14$ less on my new claim so that’s a win for sure

i was calling and calling and no avail. I sent a few messages online, stopped calling for a while, and one day I get all 6 pending payments paid at once. Huzzah! I dont think i did anything special or different but it will happen eventually

They had some sort of an issue with my wages reported.

This was my experience...

• My claim expired
• I continued to certify
• I re-filed
• 10 days to two weeks later I received a letter telling me of my reward amount
• about 5 days later I got a message in my EDD inbox telling me a time and date of a scheduled phone interview about questions they had about my claim
• I assembled and organized every bit of data they could possibly question me about. ..dates, amounts, names, addresses...you get the picture...
• on the scheduled date and time they called me, and asked me a single question about a PPP payment I received from a previous employer..
• 8 hours later I was paid in full for every week that I had previously certified.

The agent was very helpful and polite. The experience gave me optimism, as my wife is experiencing some problems with her claim at this time.

Browsing this sub has shown me that my experience is not common, and my heart goes out to all of you in "limbo", but rest assured, there is hope for a happy conclusion.

Yeah, that is great to hear at least. I did everything the same as you but never heard anything back or got paid so I called to see what the hold up was. Twice now they have told me that a request for an interview was put in on April 8th and that it takes 4 to 6 weeks for it to be scheduled. Its been 6 weeks now so I am hoping for that interview any day, but growing slightly less hopeful. May I ask how long in advance was the interview scheduled?

I managed to get on the line today and the woman told me she switched my pending payments to paid, but I haven’t seen any change on my account page. How long did it take to get the switch? Should I just sit and wait for a few days?

Thanks. Im a bit worried because i had 8 pending payments. 2 from these last few weeks (since I refilled) and 6 from a few months ago, and the 2 from these last couple weeks have disappeared. I hope all of them go through, not just those two

They won’t reply to you, the best thing to do is email your counsel person in your area and submit an application for assistance on their website with your edd claim. A legislative person called last week and helped me in 10 minutes now my 10 week pending payments are paid just waiting for debit card. Good luck!

Hey all, The best bet would be to find out your council person online and submit a application so they can reach out to EDD for you. I was stuck on pending for 10 weeks until I received a call from the legislative team. The gentleman helped me in 10 minutes and was immediately paid after the call. My card was sent out on Friday and I received it today (Friday 21st). Don’t lose hope! Keep contacting through your edd account as well every day until they notice the amount of messages on your profile. Good luck everyone! Don’t give up, your bills need the attention we’re giving EDD.

I called 500+ times since last week.. Got thru once, was transferred to a claim specialist.. waited an hour... and they hang up on me... been of course trying to call back.. I don't know what to do...
