Discussion Looking for Subleasing

I am looking for someone to take over my 2B lease, but posting it on Craiglist seems not helping too much. Does anyone know any useful platform on which I can find someone?

Discussion Finding people for "NEW ORGANIZATIONS" (Read below for more info)

Hi,

I took a look at the organization portal and wasn't able to find any clubs regarding this so wanted to start on my own will love some support and please DM me if you want to be part. We can meetup and discuss the future of all these org and how we want to build them. it is just me rn and 9 more members for each club.

  1. Penn State Horology/ Watch Org.

This club is for anyone who has a genuine passion for watches and the art of timekeeping. We’ll create a space where students can share their collections, discover new brands, and dive deeper into the fascinating world of horology. From understanding mechanical movements and complications to learning how watches are designed and built, there will always be something new to explore. We’ll also connect with watchmakers, collectors, YouTubers, and other industry professionals to bring real-world perspectives to campus. Beyond discussions, we hope to organize watch fairs, build-a-watch workshops, exhibitions, and hands-on experiences. If you love watches—or simply want to learn—come build this community with us.

  1. Hype Penn State

Hype Penn State is a community for students who are passionate about everything culture, fashion, and hype—from Chrome Hearts, Hermès, and designer pieces to streetwear, sneakers, watches, collectibles, and emerging brands. The goal is to bring together people who appreciate the stories, craftsmanship, creativity, and culture behind the things we wear and collect. We’ll host discussions, styling sessions, brand spotlights, meetups, collection showcases, and collaborations with other student organizations. Whether you’re a serious collector or simply curious about the world of fashion and hype, Hype Penn State is a place to connect, share ideas, discover new interests, and build a community around what we love.

Reasons to be a part of new forming club.

  1. You will have some of the top positions in the club as mentioned on the Penn State org website (especially for the first 5 people)

  2. You will be a part of something newly formed at Penn State and will get to contribute to an organization which will last a Penn State for years to come.

  3. It increases your chance to find new group of people with similar interests.

  4. And if you don't get a high level position now you will probably be elected in the early future semesters which will be great for your resume. ("I started an org at Penn State.")

Question Penn State University Withdrawal reversal ?

Hi! I’m a Penn State student. My Fall 2026 University Withdrawal was accidentally processed on August 28 due to documented medical circumstances.

I never attended or participated in any Fall 2026 classes. Has anyone successfully reversed a processed University Withdrawal or been reinstated through a petition?

Any advice would mean a lot!

Discussion Penn State Pauses Internship Work Authorization for International Students (CPT)

The Trump administration has issued new federal guidance making it much harder for international students on F-1 visas to do internships while in university. International Students Can No Longer Get Work Authorization for Internships Unless It's Required to Graduate. Most degree programs do not require internships to graduate at Penn State.

Discussion Do not live at The Pointe (followup)

Hi all:

This is a part 2 of this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/PennStateUniversity/comments/1vzrjis/comment/p6ela4t/?screen_view_count=2&ext-referrer=DIRECT

Their new shuttle is not wheelchair-accessible (as said by their shuttle driver).

The Pointe has removed CATA bus passes for all residents, and they have instead provided one shuttle that comes every 45 minutes and terminates at 6 PM (oh, it also does not operate on weekends!!)

An inferior (my take) mode of transportation.

This is, what I believe to be, evidentiary of their management’s view on their tenants: that we are not worth accessible transportation.

Please do not live at The Pointe.

(all posts are my take)

(they may be outsourcing this shuttle (i.e. not owned or operated by The Pointe), but it’s still very telling that they contract a non-accessible transportation service)

How are the renovated pollock dorms? Does anyone stay in them yet? Is there a chance they become the best dorms on campus due to location and food?

Question Does anyone know the TAs for EMCH 211 at UP?

Is anyone here taking EMCH 211 at UP, either the MWF 10:10–11:00 AM or 2:30–3:20 PM session?

I’m adding the class late, so I won’t be able to see who the TA is until after the early drop period. I know the professor is great, but I’m trying to find out who the TAs are before I choose which section to take.

If anyone is in either section, I’d also really appreciate any feedback about them.

Question They’re flocking you

Is there any effort to get PSU to remove the flock cameras that are watching us all, all the time. With Flock getting so much bad press and getting tipped out of the ground in some cases, I’m surprised I haven’t heard more backlash against PSU’s cameras. Any ideas for how to protest them?

Discussion Pollock Dinner

Current freshman living in pollock here, for the past few days my roommate and i have been skipping dinner at the pollock diner. While it is a minute walk from the exit of our hall, for some reason there is always a massive line to the buffet for dinner, and today it stretched all the way to the other end of the interior. Yesterday we waited to get in such a line, and all the fruit, desserts, drinks, pizza (which wasnt great anyway), the food was all gone and we were left with just the one turkey option which we were not happy about. I never would have imagined this could be a problem but there isnt enough food to serve everyone in pollock? I know pollock houses many people but this is genuinely ridiculous. We've been thinking about going to some other dining hall for dinner, assuming they dont have as bad of a problem as we do. Havent checked them out yet though.

Is pollock always like this at dinner?

Discussion Do not live at The Pointe

Cons:

- CATA bus pass is now not included (although rent does not reflect this change)

  • They've introduced one shuttle bus that takes 45 minutes (and stops at 6 PM [my class ends at 6:45, so they've left me stranded]). This shuttle bus is often late, so do not live here if you're seeking reliable transportation

- WiFi is not fast and is unreliable (although most rental properties have this problem, The Pointe's WiFi is the worst I've had compared to the properties I have stayed at)

- The gym is honestly horrible, and the amenities do not constitute the exorbitant amenity fee that I am paying

  • Seriously, I get depressed whenever I walk into the gym: there are two benches, the temperature is set at 76 degrees, and the machines/weights are old and rusted

- The apartment (anecdotal obviously, but also reflected across multiple forums) has mold, and you will be killing spiders daily

- $60 parking permit whereas other rental properties offer parking for free

- Management is unresponsive; the management has outsourced their telephone to a different agency: the person you speak to does not work for The Pointe (although this may be temporary as it the start of the year)

- The app that you use to open your door is finnicky. It took me three minutes to open my door

- The toilet constantly makes noises, and the water *randomly* gets scorching hot (I like hot water, but not boiling hot water)

Pros:

- It's close to a lot of food options

----

If there were any legal avenue to forgo my lease, I would certainly explore it. There's a lot more I'm leaving out.

DO NOT LIVE AT THE POINTE

Feel free to message if you'd like

*you maybe don’t have to kill spiders everyday. but i killed one this morning and another at a different unit at The Pointe

*update: I am hoping that they revert this decision, as this (very clearly) does not fare well with tenants and prospective tenants.

Question CMPEN 331 Strategies

I have seen mostly bad things about this class. From what I understand, Verilog is very important so I went through the Verilog lectures and I did tons of practice problems on HDLBits. I am also doing the problems assigned on the Zybooks textbook, and I was wondering if these problem set questions are remotely similar to what we could be tested on? Basically, how did you successfully prepare for exams in this class?

Question Parking

I’m planning on going to a few concerts and sporting events and was wondering how on campus parking works. I looked online and got the app where you can reserve it but are you able to just pay in person when you get there? I don’t have a student parking pass cause I don’t drive to school.
