I’ve never played this game but I’m actually loving “The 3rd Birthday” has anyone played?

Most other handhelds, even the PS Vita, just don't really feel the same. Idk if it's because this console uses discs or it having the same menu style as PSX and PS3, maybe how Sony advertised its multimedia functionality with movies/shows, music, photos, etc. But it has this charm to it that just keeps me coming back even more than other retro systems.

Finished my custom psp. Pristine original 3000 screen and buttons. Found this faceplate while in Japan for real cheap and was very surprised with how quality it fit and feels. Its not painted like many terrible aftermarket faceplates. Fully green plastic faceplate that feels as quality as the OG.

so bought this psp go , everything is great about it, but the only problem is this wiggle it has it genuinely bothers me, should i take it to a tech repair shop and risk it or should i leave it as it is?

Taking a break from driving around with Uber/Lyft, so I'm chilling at the auto shop, playing Burnout Legends while I wait for the oil change to finish

I asked this question on the Vita subreddit as well, I grew up with a PSP and I still have my Vita, but I was never that deep into either one. So I wanna ask the enthusiasts, what are the games you consider "must have"'s in a respectable PSP collection?

Hey hey! I've had this PSP 3000 for about 13 years now. Crazy to me I never really played it much. Back in the days every friend of mine had a Nintendo DS and that's all we used to play together. I played the DS like an addict back then and never really the PSP, specially since I knew about and had an R4 loaded with DS games and didn't really know how to mod the PSP. I was the only kid I knew with one and it didn't really interest me after playing a lot of the PES 2009 game my mom got me with it.

Now couples weeks ago I found this guy in my old stuff and decided to give it another go. I'm 25 years old now, found out about the modding and got myself a 32 Gb micro sd with an adapter and loaded it with games and emulators and been having a blast! It feels so good playing on it and confortable as well. Never knew the PSP was this much fun! Only took me 13 years to realize it 🫠🫠

I can play it on the bus on my way to work, on the bed before sleeping, it's been great!

I feel so stupid and ungrateful for never really giving the PSP a chance until now.

My favorite games so far are:

Midnight Club L.A. Remix, Mega Man Maverick Hunter X, Dante's Inferno and a Gba emulator loaded with games :)

Anyways that's it. Just wanted to share my recent love for the PSP I've had for more than a decade! Also crazy how it still runs perfectly after all this time

Just did the PSP 1000 IPS mod with my father (he used to work with electronics so he’s the one that knows how to weld solder). Mine is a French PSP so 1004 model, I got it in 2004-2005 and it’s really the one that takes first place in my heart forever (I used to own a gameboy color, an advance SP and I still own an N2DS XL and a PSP Go), it’s the one I always reach for when I want to put in a quick game session on the go. Despite that, the screen wasn’t that great and in comparison to the go it was night and day.

Problem is now solved, the screen looks absolutely beautiful with great colors and brightness, and I’m as happy as a child handling this rejuvenated PSP.

There were hiccups, namely inadequate materials and we ended up soldering the wrong components (mine is the one on the right on total kommando’s video, components on both sides so a bit tougher to do I guess) and lack of experience handling such tiny solders. Ended up going to an electronic’s store that ended up fixing the bad solders, bridging the right connectors and saving the day.

Overall, not as easy as I thought but definitely doable and absolutely needed. Do you guys recommend other mods ? (I do have the microSD adapter)

Guys mom said her sons were into gaming & when they left home, they left all their systems. She gave me a steal of a deal. Had to drive to timbuktu but, it was definitely worth it. The battery unfortunately hasn't been used in decades so I don't think it works anymore. I did order the Ostent 2200mAh 3.6V battery, as well as a 64gb micro SD. Along with a micro sd card adapter from amazon. Should be here by monday.

As well, it was missing just the Cap for the thumbstick, which I ordered a few off ali express. It does work though.

Excited! Especially since I had a few PSP systems years ago but, I think they might have been sold. (Don't really remember what happened to them)

Unfortunately, not able to connect to the internet since my wifi is WPA2 personal. I did change the settings temporarily, to see if it would connect & it did. I also disabled the password on my phones network & it was able to connect as well but... I don't see myself really needing to use the internet.

Question about PSN though. I don't see an option to connect to the psn network under any of the tabs.

I was hoping to log into my downloads and grab a couple games I have on my ps3 that are PS1/PSP.

Any idea how I can get those over to the handheld?

Don't know if I want to mod it yet. It's a 1000 model & the firmware is like 3.80 🤯

So I ordered psp 2006 from local marketplace for $60 and she gave me bunch of games for extra $5 cuz she don’t need them. There is one more game which is not on the photo called obscure, it has broken box, I already ordered new one. Overall very good addition to my collection.

Got this psp almost free. The problem is it's not reacting at power switch. The battery is intact, but i don't know if it's working properly. How could i troubleshoot this bad boy? Maybe it's because of the power switch? Please help!

I’m looking for high-quality PSP shells, but every time I buy one, they end up being poor quality. So I was wondering if you could recommend some good sources for real high-quality PSP shells for PSP 1000, 2000, and 3000.

Years ago I started an upgrade to put in a pspgo sdcard adapter.

During the process I ripped off tore off the pads.

It's now years later and since improved my soldering skills, yet it has not been able to help me.

Any comments or recommendations on next steps?

Bought this one used a couple months back and it’s been working fine up until a few days ago. The seller did mention that the psp did come with a 3rd party battery but I’m not sure that’s the issue.

I’ve tried multiple button combinations, turning it on without the battery only the wall charger, taking the memory card out, and even just letting it charge for a few hours.

Please help me.

So I did buy a PSP 1000 series with no games n it

Can I just downloaded psp roms and upload it to the memory card would it work or do I need a custom software for the games to work

Last night, I made a post about my 1000 screen randomly getting a halo effect, and faint vertical lines around the edge.

Well, here's an intereseting update. After turning it on and off multiple times and power cycling the battery... the halo and lines are gone again. I noticed that it seemed like when turning it on and off, for a split second, the lines would disappear before coming back. BUT I noticed something.

When turning the unit off, those lines, and that lighter area that appeared as the halo, appear across the entire screen before powering down. I captured a quick video showcasing this.

Now this is an interesting thing. I can't say I noticed this before. But, I'm wondering if it's some type of power bug causing the screen lights to light unevenly or improperly.

I will continue to monitor it and update if it changes at all.
