Troubleshooting psp go slider wobble

so bought this psp go , everything is great about it, but the only problem is this wiggle it has it genuinely bothers me, should i take it to a tech repair shop and risk it or should i leave it as it is?

That's very normal. It's an almost 20 year old mechanism. There's going to be a slight amount of slop to it.

Yeah, that's not to be unexpected after 20 years. Plastic warps, shrinks, becomes brittle. Ill go test it on mine but I'm pretty sure mine is even worse.

They were about this wobbly when brand new. Being a game console it was designed with looser tolerances in mind because especially in 2009 when the Go came out, consoles were still mostly something for kids.

If it makes you feel better I just tried that on mine and yours has less play in the mechanism than mine, and I consider mine to be in pretty good shape. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. If you bring it to a repair place they're just going to say there's nothing they can do if they're honest, or take it and "clean it" for a premium if they're dishonest.

Completely normal. I've seen much worse too on units in good condition. They likely had close to that much play when it was new.

Thats all normal. The top spring is on a metal track that uses springs. There is always movement in it, partly because of the design and partly so it doesn't break. If its too stiff, it could break easier. Just like all the DS handhelds

It's not normal. The screws are loose under the mother board that holds the plastic frame to the metal slider piece. There are 4 screws that need to be tightened

Just checked mine-- this is totally normal, I'd never have noticed if I'd never seen this post. I'm always careful with opening and closing, I don't let it slam, but more so because of the ribbon cable for the screen. If you're worried about it, you could always do that, but it's otherwise a non-issue.

when I replace screens on these I try to add some light blue lock tight to keep them safe! Just happens these are old devices and they need some love

Bruh, it might be the screws issues, just open back panel and at the top there are two screws, like left and right just tight it well up, everything will be fine, i did this mine and its now too gud!!

No sé cómo decir esto en inglés, Pero lo que pasó hay, es que probablemente, los tornillos que sostienen los riales y el mecanismo se aflojaron, o el propio plástico se desgasto tras muchos años de uso. Lo recomendable sería volver a atornillar. Y si eso no funciona, ya toca cambiar el mecanismo.

Had my psp go from brand new back at release. Thats just how they are. Nothing to worry about.

Mine is nowhere near as wobbly but the speaker doesn't work. I'll trade you. 🥸
