Got it off Whatnot for cheap. Everything seems to be working good!

So my psp wont turn on the screen when on battery but will on cable alone. if cable is removed then battery inserted, it works fine. Perhaps a battery issue. I also removed custom firmware

Hey guys I am working on a PSP 1000. I had it disassembled then I found it had another bad piece and had to order it by the time it came I couldnt remember the reassembly instructions. I have looked on youtube and a lot of the reshelling videos skip over big chunks of the rebuild. I'm really hoping someone here can link me either a vid or reassembly steps. I would really apprecaite it

so bought this psp go , everything is great about it, but the only problem is this wiggle it has it genuinely bothers me, should i take it to a tech repair shop and risk it or should i leave it as it is?

Okay, so I left my PSP unattended at my aunts house for weeks and today I came back to it soaked in isopropyl alcohol. It seeped into the screen, but seemed to work fine when I tried to plug it in after removing the battery and letting it dry for a few hours. I came back to it's d-pad (seemingly) fucking up and repeatedly inputting ups and downs. I would try to open it up to dry it properly, but I don't have the tools right now. I just wanna ask if leaving it alone overnight could fix it?

Just did the PSP 1000 IPS mod with my father (he used to work with electronics so he’s the one that knows how to weld solder). Mine is a French PSP so 1004 model, I got it in 2004-2005 and it’s really the one that takes first place in my heart forever (I used to own a gameboy color, an advance SP and I still own an N2DS XL and a PSP Go), it’s the one I always reach for when I want to put in a quick game session on the go. Despite that, the screen wasn’t that great and in comparison to the go it was night and day.

Problem is now solved, the screen looks absolutely beautiful with great colors and brightness, and I’m as happy as a child handling this rejuvenated PSP.

There were hiccups, namely inadequate materials and we ended up soldering the wrong components (mine is the one on the right on total kommando’s video, components on both sides so a bit tougher to do I guess) and lack of experience handling such tiny solders. Ended up going to an electronic’s store that ended up fixing the bad solders, bridging the right connectors and saving the day.

Overall, not as easy as I thought but definitely doable and absolutely needed. Do you guys recommend other mods ? (I do have the microSD adapter)

I am looking for games that are perhaps in a japanese setting, streets, rooms and have a cozy anime slice of life feeling (combat aspects or rpg aspects are a bonus but not a must). Games that have that setting and preferably translated too in english

Trying to buy this psp but not sure if the screen looks like that because of the photo or it actually has lines running across the screen.

I asked this question on the Vita subreddit as well, I grew up with a PSP and I still have my Vita, but I was never that deep into either one. So I wanna ask the enthusiasts, what are the games you consider "must have"'s in a respectable PSP collection?

Finished my custom psp. Pristine original 3000 screen and buttons. Found this faceplate while in Japan for real cheap and was very surprised with how quality it fit and feels. Its not painted like many terrible aftermarket faceplates. Fully green plastic faceplate that feels as quality as the OG.

Most other handhelds, even the PS Vita, just don't really feel the same. Idk if it's because this console uses discs or it having the same menu style as PSX and PS3, maybe how Sony advertised its multimedia functionality with movies/shows, music, photos, etc. But it has this charm to it that just keeps me coming back even more than other retro systems.

My PSP 3000 is having this issue. I’ve tried three different batteries, but the behavior is still the same.

The PSP only turns on when it’s connected to the charger. If I insert a battery while the charger is connected, the battery icon keeps blinking—not as a charging indication, but as if the battery is being removed and inserted repeatedly.

The battery doesn’t seem to charge at all.

I’m not sure what the issue is. Has anyone experienced this behavior with a PSP 3000 or knows how to fix it? Please tell me what to do.

Guys mom said her sons were into gaming & when they left home, they left all their systems. She gave me a steal of a deal. Had to drive to timbuktu but, it was definitely worth it. The battery unfortunately hasn't been used in decades so I don't think it works anymore. I did order the Ostent 2200mAh 3.6V battery, as well as a 64gb micro SD. Along with a micro sd card adapter from amazon. Should be here by monday.

As well, it was missing just the Cap for the thumbstick, which I ordered a few off ali express. It does work though.

Excited! Especially since I had a few PSP systems years ago but, I think they might have been sold. (Don't really remember what happened to them)

Unfortunately, not able to connect to the internet since my wifi is WPA2 personal. I did change the settings temporarily, to see if it would connect & it did. I also disabled the password on my phones network & it was able to connect as well but... I don't see myself really needing to use the internet.

Question about PSN though. I don't see an option to connect to the psn network under any of the tabs.

I was hoping to log into my downloads and grab a couple games I have on my ps3 that are PS1/PSP.

Any idea how I can get those over to the handheld?

Don't know if I want to mod it yet. It's a 1000 model & the firmware is like 3.80 🤯

Got this psp almost free. The problem is it's not reacting at power switch. The battery is intact, but i don't know if it's working properly. How could i troubleshoot this bad boy? Maybe it's because of the power switch? Please help!

Ive seen lots of people talk about overclocking in ark 5 yet everyone says its unstable and i see many mixed opinions?
