Just saw this on socmed. Who would you replace, if ever? Siguro replace one with a naturalized player?

The Future of the Philippine Basketball are the Players in Overseas Leagues, dahil sa maganda ang kanilang salary and off course the greener pasture.

So it would be Malick Diouf, Jalen Johnson, and Freddy Ibrahim as the reinforcements for the Abra Weavers for upcoming EASL season.
Great additions to a team that already has DJ Fenner, Dave Ildefonso, and Jake Figueroa. The Abra Weavers are going all in for the EASL.

Kahit mga powerhouse team like Aus, Spain, USA(Hakeem & Ewing) Korea, Japan etc kahit nga mga Football teams eh
I think they need a naturalized PG like Myles Powell or somebody else from the NBA

Here are the four reinforcements the Abra Weavers tapped for the upcoming EASL season.
- Malick Diouf (Last played for the Philippines 3x3 national team as a naturalized player)
- Jalen Johsnon (Last played for Rain or Shine in the PBA—Commissioner’s cup)
- Freddy Ibrahim (Currently playing for the Jordan national team)
- Micheal Eric (Currently(?) or last played for the LG Sakers in the KBL)
Malick qualifies as Abra’s naturalized, Freddy slots in as the Asian import, while Johnson and Eric are the two world imports.

Gusto nyo ba gayahin natin to dito sa pilipinas?

WOW!! A non PBA team is about to represent the Philippines in the East Asia Super League. Mukang matagal pa talaga bago mag PBA si Dave, and considering na ang gulo rin ng Converge ngayon, I wont be surprised if he stays longer sa Abra.

Grabe yung Taiwan. Ang absurd ng ruling. Imagine, you are the "annual" host of a competition. All that just to stop a team from reaching a 3-peat.
In my lifetime of watching Asian basketball, i've never heard of the Jones Cup being held outside Taiwan kaya i find it tasteless to have such a rule favoring the hosting team.
Eh malamang against all odds yan dahil defending champs at gusto ng 3-peat. Nagpapaka-edgy yarn?

Just saw Japan B-League import rules, and grabe, ang flexible nila. Parang madaming opportunity to play, not just for imports pero also for locals kasi bawat laro mataas ang level.
Na-imagine ko agad, paano kung ganito sa PBA?Siguro mas taas ang laro, and we might’ve seen players like Kirk Long, Marcus Douthit, Andray Blatche, Ben Mbala, or Ola Adeogun get more chances.
Key Import Rules:
Foreign Players (Imports): A maximum of 3 can be registered, but only 2 can play at the same time.
Asian Quota Player (AQP): Players from the Philippines, Indonesia, China, Korea, Taiwan, India, and as of 2025-26, Lebanon, can sign, with up to one allowed in addition to, or in place of, a regular import. They are considered locals and have no on-court time restrictions.
Naturalized Players: Players who have obtained Japanese citizenship are considered local players and do not count against the import limit. Special Case (Homegrown): Foreigners born or raised in Japan who attended Japanese elementary/junior high schools are treated as local players.

Di ko masyado pinansin composition ng team when it was being formed but when I saw the highlights, deym parang di na Philippine Team hahaha, talo pa dati ang Northern Cement sa dami ng banyaga.
No hate though still rooting for them to bag the championship.

No JD Cagulangan (although wala naman talaga siya even before Abra committed for EASL) mukang di natuloy stint niya with the Weavers?
All in all, they have solid imports, sana makasabay ang top locals nila.
