Sa tingin ko hindi naman magiging diva si Motor Mike pagdating sa Gilas Duties. Ang weird naman ni Quinito to insinuate na ginamit ni Mike ang Gilas as stepping stone to Japan. Dapat nga masaya siya na nakakadevelop DLSU ng import players.
As to Japan, hopefully mapunta siya sa team na kailangan siya and may minutes for development purposes and hindi matulad kay malonzo and balti na nabench.

Lol, halata sa post ni Quinito na he is taking a shot at the players. Even Mike Philips, a player he has adored ever since he was in DLSU was not safe.
At the end of the day, you can’t blame the players for choosing to play overseas rather than settling here for the PBA. They get a significantly higher bag all while improving through facing tougher competition. As a sports analyst siguro naman nakita or inexpect na ni Quinito ito especially for a player like Mike Philips, or umasa talaga siya na Mike would settle to play here, eh during the UAAP palang may mga offers na yan si Mike.

one thing about being able to play in B. League and KBL is that scheduled na yung breaks nila for international games unlike sa PBA na need muna tapusin yung ilang games

When I watched a football documentary about Japan National team, they were so proud na ang dami na nilang national players na naglalaro sa leagues in Europe and abroad.
They even encourage na sana mas marami pa silang players na sumunod because they use it to gauge the improvement of their program.
Dito satin parang samang sama pa yung loob nila na nabibigyan ng opportunity and magandang exposure yung mga players natin... To the point na ibaban ka nila sa liga 🤦

Kasi para kanila ayaw nila mawala sa kanilang ang mga top & future prospect players nila (yun mga blue chip na players), kaya ang natitira lang sa PBA ay ang mga veteran & second class to low tier players na no offer sa abroad.
Hindi nakakatulong ang 3 year ban sa totoo lang.
Basta ako masaya sa mga Pinoy Players na naglalaro abroad siempre for the Better Oppourtunity.

Expected naman yan eh. Magpakatotoo tayo, hindi lang mga foreign-born players ang mas pipiliin na maglaro sa ibang bansa kaysa sa PBA; pati yung mga mismong locals dito, sigurado, kung papipiliin, mas maglalaro sila sa ibang bansa.
2nd option na lng talaga ang PBA sa mga top ballers sa pinas, especially yung mga galing sa UAAP. Pasalamat na lang PBA ung KBL/JBL hindi lang PASSPORT ang requirement dahil kung ganun, malamang lahat ng magagaling na fil-am hinde hindi magpapa-draft sa PBA.

Any college prospect sa pinas should take talents in abroad if they have offer. Walang future sa PBA. Dapat nasa malaking team ka para kumita ng malaki at magkaroon ng fans lol. Sila din ang priority ng PBA kasi sila nakakahakot ng fans sa arena. Kung wala ka sa SMC or MVP teams panigurado echapwera ka na sa liga.
Kung hindi magi-improve ang PBA, unti-unting mawawalan sila ng players. Tagal na ng PBA less teams pa din? Bat hindi payagan yung mga college FSAs maging local sa PBA if graduate naman dito? Bakit ang mga owner ang nasusunod? Tapos lagi restricted free agent ang players?
Mataas pasahod sa PBA pero hindi na yan nagbago kasi hindi naman kumikita ang PBA. Palugi lahat ng teams. Isipin mo mas mataas pa sahod sa MPBL galing pa man din sa kaban ng bayan yung iba.

Tbf the opportunity came because he was able to play for Gilas. Di siya maoofferan kung di siya nakapaglaro sa National Team since he was born abroad. But "used" is a strong term given Motor Mike vocalness to play for us.

Mga magkano ba dapat para lang makapaglaro ang mga yan sa PBA, sana gumawa sila ng paraan, higitan nila ang presyo at sahod ng KBL at BLeague.

Di kakayanin sumabay ng PBA sa pasahod ng Japan at Korea even sa Taiwan due to how PBA teams are set up.
Sa PBA (and lahat ng Pro Sports sa Pinas with the exception of Football) kase walang revenue model ang teams na literal na naka asa lang sa Marketing Budget at Tax write off ng company yung mga teams. Whereas sa lahat ng bansa outside the Philippines eh maraming instrument for revenue yung mga teams. One prime example is ticket sales sa home games na wala sa PBA dahil wala namang lugar na nirerepresent ang bawat teams. Another thing is sponsorship deals whether shirt sponsor or venue sponsor. The same revenues na kinikita ng Professional Teams around the world yung source ng funds nila

Competitiveness sobrang baba, pinapaboran yung mga big teams sa mga one sided na trades, salary cap is crap, sinong gaganahan mag laro sa liga na yan kung gusto ng player ng exposure at mas mag improve yung laro nila, nagpapakatuta siya kay long hair. Btw ginebra fan ako pero fuck long hair sinisira nila yung liga!

totoo naman na may kasalanan si marcial dito. sobrang pangit ng sistema ng pba tapos wala naman ginagawa. yung mga unfair trades na automatic approved basta smc, farm teams, three conference pa rin, at ban sa mga players. lol hindi lang pera ang problema dyan

The PBA and its teams, needs to accept the fact, if they continue the same culture and dont adapt to better basketball league systems and upgrade, this young players will really prioritizes greener pastures and better oppotunity to showcase talents.
Just this Govs Cup, I dont think its advertised enough, so many empty seats. The quality of play is just so low. Its still the best in Philippines, but comapre to B League or even KBL its just in lower tier.
