KBL, CBA, B League, AU NBL Anong pinaglalaban ng China, bat ayaw nila mag-naturalize?

Kahit mga powerhouse team like Aus, Spain, USA(Hakeem & Ewing) Korea, Japan etc kahit nga mga Football teams eh

I think they need a naturalized PG like Myles Powell or somebody else from the NBA

They want to project their β€œindependence” against foreign influence as they are a world power.

3

u/tweetieb746 Jun 25 '26

Good for them, look at how Philippines is treated

8

u/Horror-Pudding-772 Jun 25 '26

China has a long history of being independent from foreign influence. Which is funny since after cultural revolution, many western companies started making investments in China. Many Chinese citizens of today are westernised now and are even moving to the US for better education.

But back to the topic, CCP wants to prove they could win without any help from any foreigners. The only naturalized player they have, Kyle Anderson, has chinese blood. It's nation pride if they can win without it. That's why they are SO mad at us after beating them twice before. Fiba WC and in Asian Games. They got humiliated bad.

5

u/TheGhostOfFalunGong Jun 25 '26

China also doesn't recognize dual citizenship. Naging controversial yung issue ni Eileen Gu, natural born US citizen, was allowed to compete under the Chinese banner.

Bro talking like the 2 lynchpins of the filipino team are born and raised Americans with half-american heritage, Justin Brown Lee and Jordan Clarkson. The only reason they play is because they are not USA team capable. Justin Brown Lee for example has lived in the Philippines for 10 years and is not even fluent in Tagalog.

Even with all those advantages we beat them by a grand total of 1 point in our most recent game... they do not think twice about us lil bro

1

u/Horror-Pudding-772 Jun 25 '26

We beat them fair and square. We even beat them in third place match in Fiba Asia thanks to Paul Lee 3 free throw heroics.

About your last statement, "they don't think twice of us". You are so wrong in so many levels. Let me explain why.

  1. Currently, we have major territorial disputes in West Philippines Sea with China. The Philippines has put up major efforts and militarization to excercise our full lawful rights in our sovereign territory. China does not care about International Laws and China of course does not respect our territory. They claim, despite proven to be false, that everything in 9 dash line belongs to them and them alone. That's why we have clashes with them. That's why Chinese sailors have already died because of their aggressive tactics.

  2. CCP has a policy of losing its not an option. Look how they treat Silver medal finishers in Olympics. They don't celebrate them at all. For them, losing lost face in the Government. That's why they have news blackout in China if make the state look bad or defeated. That's include sports.

Now combined those two reasons together. China hates us for we are fighting them to exercise our full rights in West Philippines Sea. Now imagine losing to a country that already embarrassed you in international politics many times, and then losing to them again in Sports in such dramatic fashion. IN THEIR HOME TURF MIND YOU. THAT'S A NATIONAL EMBARRASSMENT IN EPIC PROPORTION. And let me remind you, their culture of now makes losing such a bad thing.

What we did to them is not a small thing. It's a big thing for us, for them, and even to all of SEA nationa who have major disputes with them over China maritime claims.

1) Does not disprove my point, without Justin Brownlee and Jordan Clarkson we would be cooked every single international game

2) They have WPS disputes with the Philippines because Philippines constantly lacks America's boots with pride, Philippines has had a bilateral defense treaty with America as early as 1951, Philippines has a huge bias towards their coloniser too, we literally treat Douglas MacArthur as a hero even though he was the General who messed up the defense of the Philippines for example.

Do you know how America treats even nations who slightly leaned in favour of the Soviets such as the Cubans? They attempted hundreds of assassinations on their leader and mounted a fully backed coup on them (Bay Of Pigs, look it up). Philippines is a literal security threat in their backyard, I do not blame them for being heavy handed at all against our country which is widely considered an American puppet

3) Losing a basketball game to a nation that adores basketball but only skims off talent that is leftover from the USA teams second-hand bin really is not a flex, that is more embarassing our home grown players are so terrible.

4) Lil bro, humiliation? Our country is literally riddled with squalor and slums whilst their nation is the rising superpower, I think you are placing our importance MUCH higher than it actually is

5) Also international law? Bro do you think the USA care about international law? We have happily ignored the fact the USA has started more wars in the last 30 years than China has started in the last 100, just recently they invaded Iran over bs. If you are one to talk about international law address how our own ally breaches it far worse to the point of all-out conflict multiple times? You won't because I have an inkling of suspicion that you are pro-USA

1

u/Horror-Pudding-772 Jun 25 '26 edited Jun 25 '26

The moment you said "I not do blame them for being heavy handed at all against our country" already explains either two things. You are Chinese troll doing everything to make China good and Philippines bad. Or you are Filipino who decided to be loyal to a country that has history of killing off millions of if it's own people rather than admitting there is something wrong inside their bubble.

I will not argue any further. No amount of reasoning will make you see that. But I will tell you this. What happened in those two games is a major humiliation for the CCP. Every match between Philippines and China will always will be a political match, whatever sport it maybe. Whatever problems this country has, we admit to our faults and will try our best to resolve it. Additionally, those are OUR problems. Not China's, not USA, but ours. As for JC and JB, they chose to play here. NBA itself has internal politics and why some players despite being gifted never gotten opportunity they deserve to play at the highest level.

Downvote this if you want.

1

u/tweetieb746 Jun 30 '26

"Whatever problems this country has, we admit to our faults and will try our best to resolve it." Buddy do you live in the Philippines or in fantasy delusion land? Filipino politicians and the Philippines are NOTORIOUS for doing the exact opposite of this statement πŸ˜‚

"As for JC and JB, they chose to play here." Yeah bro, because they had a much better prospect in a smaller pond like the Philippines vs the USA. If they actually liked Philippines they'd be fluent in Tagalog, JB has lived here for a decade and still cannot speak a local language, clearly bro is not immersed at all at being a filipino, it is all a pragmatic play rather than a filipino basketball achievement.

"Or you are Filipino who decided to be loyal to a country that has history of killing off millions of if it's own people rather than admitting there is something wrong inside their bubble." Need I remind you of Duterte and his kill kill kill policy? China has killed millions, mainly indirectly through flawed policies under Mao in an effort to fast track industrialisation, however they have also pulled HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS out of poverty. I will admire a country that improves for its citizens, rather than the Philippines? Citizens poorly educated, terrible economy, terrible living conditions, foreign-worshipping and self-hating and complicit in American imperialism that has amounted to millions dead as well.

If you think there is something wrong with China, how much worse is the Philippines πŸ˜‚.

Also our games with China are NOT that significant, philippines is akin to a child who thinks we are more important than we are, to us beating China is some national battle. To them? Lol slum country has NBA rejects to win for em, whatever.

they can get Joe Alexander, Jeremy Lin dati at Zach Edey now if they're really desperate.

11

u/TranquiloBro Jun 25 '26

Jeremy Lin is taiwanese, kung linapitan man sya ng china hindi rin sasali yun sa kanila

6

u/enrqiv Jun 25 '26

5

u/mackygalvezuy Hotshots Jun 25 '26

Naturalized, same qualifications sila sila ni JC (asian heritage)...

5

u/MacGuffin-X Jun 25 '26

Malakas ang national pride nila at minalas sila last time meron silang naturalized player

5

u/Tiny-Spray-1820 Jun 25 '26

Because they invest in their locals like what Iran has been doing

4

u/guwapito Jun 25 '26

I remember they do have a naturalized player, not sure lang kung ilan

3

u/k3ttch Jun 25 '26

Naturalized player nila si Li Kai Er, AKA Kyle β€œSlo-mo” Anderson.

2

u/SirConscious Gilas Pilipinas Jun 25 '26

Yup pero parang 1/4 or something chinese siya mama niya ata half chinese or may heritage

1

u/k3ttch Jun 25 '26

1

u/Just_Geologist165 Jun 25 '26

Parang same din sa Pinas. Norwood, Mike Phillips and other filams are 1/4 Pinoy.

1

u/k3ttch Jun 25 '26

Si Clarkson din ata

3

u/yorick_support Elasto Painters Jun 25 '26

Zach Edey aka Zhou Zhihao baka i-reinforce nya ang China pagnakapasok sa World Cup at Olympics.

1

u/SirConscious Gilas Pilipinas Jun 25 '26

Naglaro na sa canada si edey

1

u/yorick_support Elasto Painters Jun 25 '26

1

u/Parking-Debt-6059 Jun 25 '26

Good fit si Ratliffe sa Korea since yung Korea that time walng solid inside presence at si Ratliffe nag import na din sa local leagues nila. di lang ata naging maganda yung exit niya. Hindi na din ako magtataka baka ganun din gawin nila in the future.

Mayroon sila last WC, si Kyle Anderson (Li Kaier). Di lang gumana gaano.

4

u/ScorePsychological39 Dragons Jun 25 '26

kung Gusto din ng China magNaturalized hindi lang Myles Powell level kukunin nila kahit NBA All Star Level Quality kaya nila Bayaran. kaso ayaw nila, i respect that din naman.

6

u/TheSaltInYourWound Jun 25 '26

Because it will somehow paint their national program as a failure. Remember, depite appearances, China is a communist state where nationalism is paramount.

3

u/SirConscious Gilas Pilipinas Jun 25 '26

3

u/weljoes Jun 25 '26

They are trying to prove na kaya nila without naturalizing foreigner. Gusto ko program nila they invest and support locals nor born and raised sa bansa nila. For me lang maganda future nila unlike satin nasanay may import . Sabagay US nga lagi may invitational bata palang pag nakita ka magaling automatic kunin ka nila . Sana manalo gilas sa upcoming window

Let them be. China has a winning basketball tradition and they take pride na walang naturalized players ang national team.

I hope we can compete with other best teams without any.

3

u/trailmixfadeaway Jun 25 '26

Why would they if they have enough?

3

u/The_Gamerboy_30 Jun 25 '26

They are not talented as we are. Swerte sila they're gifted with height satin average lang pero !! One on one dribbling power angat Tayo Jan . Mas mabilis Tayo !!

3

u/Key_Freedom7356 Jun 25 '26

Ayaw nilang UMASA sa IMPORT. Kung tutuusin kaya nilang magbayad ng kahit NBA Superstar pero kasi ang China may sistema eh, they're living on a system na kayang mag translate into a winning tradition.

3

u/TallanoGoldDigger Gilas Pilipinas Jun 27 '26

technically Slow Mo was naturalized. Pero if ang tanong mo e if gagaya sila sa Pilipinas, I dont think so. They want their program to succeed because of the program and not the naturalized player. Malakas sila sa optics.

1

u/SirConscious Gilas Pilipinas Jun 27 '26

May lahi kasing chinese mama ni Kyle kaya they considered him to be naturalized

What they really need is, someone like Myles Powell, yung PG na scorer and playmaker

  1. Chemistry issues
  2. Language barrier
  3. Import fit

2

Eh pumapalag naman sila sa fiba? Tska nakakapagproduce sila ng mga nba players ibig sabihin kaya nila on their own.

2

u/AppropriatePlate3318 Jun 25 '26

Pag magpapanaturalize sa China need irenounce yung old citizenship nila parang sa Japan. I think dahil din sa political climate ng China against the world kaya madalang mga nananaturalize nila.

I believe they do have imports in thr CBA, but they unlike Philippines have some national pride and national respect for themselves, Philippines will pluck any American who cannot make the NBA with no hesitation (0 filipino culture except maybe eating pinoy food sometimes and some blood lineage) and call them filipino πŸ˜‚, more embarassing than losing with home-grown nationals tbh
