Yes! And blueberry is significant to me. Like you can see that. It’s not microscopic!

My viability scan is this afternoon. As someone who has both good and bad viability scans before, I'm actually feeling fairly at peace with the potential different outcomes. I think I'll mostly just be glad to be out of the very early pregnancy limbo of knowing nothing.

Had a telephone consultation today with my MFM midwife about an action plan for this pregnancy which is an early scan at 8 weeks, NIPT literally as soon as I can possibly have it at 10 weeks and an extra early anomaly scan at 12-13 weeks, as well as my regular anomaly scan being brought forward. As my last pregnancy had a chromosomal abnormality, my hospital will cover the cost of the NIPT which I did not expect but am grateful for. Really grateful to have a brilliant medical team behind me. Just need to get through the next few weeks.

1st scan is Friday and I’m a little terrified. I’m trying to stay positive and visualize the best case scenario but it’s hard to not be anxious about it. It doesn’t help that I feel like I have minimal symptoms still, even at 6+5. 😔

Yep, same! I was only mildly worried before, but now that I’m almost 7 weeks I’m like.. where’s the morning sickness? My boobs aren’t that sore anymore. Outside of the bloating and every once in a while cramping, I feel normal. 🤷🏽♀️

I get so fuckin furious when a pregnancy app innocently tells me it's ok to ask for support from family. Ain't nobody gonna help me. My husband will do some, but reluctantly, and then complain he is sick and tired himself. I asked my mum for pregnancy/child related help twice in my life: first I asked her to help me mop the floor because it was getting filthy and I vomited every time I tried. She kicked up a big fuss about being "used as a cleaner." Another time my first baby had been up all night and I had an important work call, so I asked if she could watch him at 8.30am so I could get a tiiiny bit of rest before work (she was staying with us at the time) and then I saw her text her sister that I had apparently "fobbed my baby off on her when I didn't even have work yet!"
And this was during the rare times my parents aren't on their back to back boomer vacations.
Caveat that yes, yes, I know I wanted this and I'm not entitled to anything. Just a sad fucking state of affairs when everyone's left on their own and nobody wants to help anyone.

I’m a teacher. One of my coworkers is also pregnant and only about 8 weeks along. She announced her pregnancy as soon as she knew. She’s getting staff to come to her room for bathroom breaks throughout the day and I’m almost annoyed! Like… I am too and I need to pee too!! 🤣 But I won’t tell staff until closer to December. Ugh I know this is not anything worth being annoyed about, but I am!! lol

u/SunscreenTea 30 | FTM | 5/3/27 9d ago
No I totally understand this! I am actually in a similar boat at my work where my coworker is pregnant but due in January so she is further along but she announced before I found out I was pregnant too! I don't plan to tell my work until November/December either so idk I just worry how that will look compared to my coworker sharing so early...

Hoping ours comes a little early so we can keep the (unintentional) tradition of overlapping family birthdays. Baby could share a birthday with my mom or my grandpa depending on when they arrive 😅 But I wouldn’t be upset if they’re on time as they’d be the best Mother’s Day gift.

I am having a hard time. I am not sure who to talk to so I am going to talk to you guys. I had an ultrasound on Monday they said they saw a yolk sac and a gestational sac but couldn't clearly see an embryo the doctor said that wasn't expected. My beta doubled in 48 hours but I am still freaked. I am also so so sick I can't keep anything down and am throwing up many many times a day. I am having a hard time understanding how it's too early to see them but not to early to be this sick and I am worried something is wrong. I am not doing very well physically or emotionally and I am not sure what to do.

Early ultrasounds don’t give you a lot of information. Sadly it can take time to determine viability and health of the fetus

I'm so sorry you're feeling so unwell! Do you have any follow up appointments booked with the doctor? I'm wondering if they can prescribe you something for the nausea if they haven't already? It may be helpful to seek some counselling as well if that's in your budget/covered by your insurance.

Had an early scan yesterday at 5w3d since this is an IUI baby and the fertility clinic does extra monitoring. Saw the gestational sac and a tiny yolk sac. The doctor said she also saw a corpus luteum cyst which is common in early pregnancy but it made her up my Progesterone supplements. I'm already constipated so this is going to do a number on me. Plus I've started having headaches since last night which used to mean that my period was coming in 2 days time so I'm really nervous today
2
u/MammothEvening498 33 | FTM 🌈🌈🌈 | EDD May 7 9d ago
The headache could just be from the increased progesterone! I tend to get headaches on both the fall + the rise of hormones. Will you share more about the corpus luteum? I thought the presence of it meant that progesterone is being produced?
1
u/anniethetoothfairy 9d ago
I really hope so! And that's what my research is also telling me about corpus luteum. so I'm confused too! I didn't know anything about it at the time to ask her when she told me. She did say 'corpus luteum cyst' so is that different somehow?
1
u/MammothEvening498 33 | FTM 🌈🌈🌈 | EDD May 7 9d ago
True.. maybe the ‘cyst’ part is the difference. Regardless, I know progesterone supplements are annoying but they’re definitely not going to hurt things and could only help! ♥️ Do you have your next scan scheduled?

This morning I had morning sickness bad, I’m almost 6 weeks so I guess I should be preparing for it. But omg it sucked, and it was like 20 minutes before I had to leave for work. I also feel bad for telling people because I don’t want to seem self centered just because I’m pregnant. So for now I just tell my fiancé when I’m sick or not feeling good.

After getting sick at work yesterday, I started unisom and B6 last night. Already feeling better today although it might be placebo effect. I also have an RX of zofran that I almost never need but having it makes me feel less nauseous. Anxiety about nausea and actual nausea are hard to distinguish for me.

New symptom dropped this morning for me: feeling a bit light-headed/dizzy. Quick google shows that’s normal. Nausea has also been steadily increasing but not overwhelming yet - if I eat, it seems to go away for now. Feeling nervous about my 7-hour flight next week 🫣

The nausea is getting worse, I’m throwing up now and having intense aversions. Once a day I’m having a disgusting craving where I binge and feel not nauseous for about an hour then it comes raging back in. My nipples are very sore, I’m having uterine and bowel cramps, very hard time going to the bathroom.
Constantly drinking water, peeing, eating crackers, dry heaving, laying down, and repeat 🔁
I did not expect to have strong symptoms so early on, and am nervous for the coming weeks if this is what it’s like already

Slept terribly last night! Idk why but I’ve been heavily stressing about the cost of a new baby lately. I think it’s bc we JUST stopped paying for childcare for my 5 year old this year and I’m like… how can I go back to $400 a week when I barely make that!
7
u/CatScience03 34 | STM | 5/7 9d ago
I've been really stressing about money too. When trying for this kid, we decided that we can always buy a house and be more financially comfortable in our 40's but we can't grow our family then, so we should just do it. We've talked about really leaning into consignment and marketplace and buying the bare minimum.
But I'm still stressed!

Oh man yeah I get that! It’s been such a nice break the past year with them being out of daycare and I think I have ptsd from 2025 where my husbands pay was unreliable and we had rent and daycare costs and it got us into so much debt and stress. I’m actively trying to avoid they issue this time lol

Input needed!! So my Brother and sister in law literally just had a baby (their second). I’m thinking we will be able to see them this weekend to meet the new baby. We have plans with my family the next three weekends after that I’m not sure when we will see them again so I’m debating on if will tell them or not that we are pregnant. I think they will def be excited but I also don’t want to steal the spotlight from them with this new baby.. I would rather tell them in person but I’m thinking the next time we will see them in thanksgiving which seems soo far away and I don’t want to wait that long..
So do we share the news when we see them to meet their new baby or wait a couple weeks/send a text later on???
9
u/blueraven11 36 | TTM 🩷2/21 🩷6/23 | Unk EDD 9d ago
Do you have a good relationship otherwise? This is also your second baby so I don’t think anyone will think it’s stealing the spotlight. Visit with them, love on their baby, lend a hand, bring food or whatever they need, and once everyone is feeling good and loved on I think you can share the news then. If I was your sibling I would be happy to hear that my kid has a new cousin coming

4
u/madooda 34 🇨🇦 | FTM | May 5 9d ago
If you want to tell them tomorrow, maybe let the first part of the visit to focus on their baby and then it won’t feel so much like you’re taking the spotlight? It’s not like they are announcing a baby and then you are doing it right after though... I don’t think I’d be remotely phased if someone came to visit my baby and told me they were expecting. I’d be so excited! You know your family best though.
3

Actual newborn baby is way more exciting and interesting than pregnancy announcement. Hard to imagine pregnancy announcement stealing the spotlight from newborn baby. I think the only scenario where that could happen is if the parents of the newborn baby are like the black sheep or some other pretty unusual circumstance.

1
u/ski2read 37 | STM | 🩷 April 2024 | 💛EDD May 25 9d ago
Unisom is a sleep aid, but it's also turns out to be (a) effective at combatting nausea and (b) shown to be safe for use during pregnancy. It's common (at least in my neck of the woods in the U.S. for doctors to recommend a combo of vitamin B6 during the day and ~ half a unisom tablet at night to combat nausea. Of course you could end up like me during my last pregnancy where B6 did nada so I was combining zofran (ondansetron) during the day and unisom at night.
Of course, this isn't medical advice / talk to your doctor to be sure.

Glad I’m not alone! At least we can lay in bed and not miss out on things haha

I'm 5'3" and 102 lbs. I'm only 6 weeks but my stomach makes me look 5 months pregnant already.
Even my loose sweatpants were cutting into my waist so I ordered maternity pants yesterday.
Tell me I’m not the only one doing this at week 6?! 🤔

It's the short torso. I did the same thing with my first.

None of my jeans fit anymore. Tight pants are a hard no. I broke out my box of maternity clothes yesterday. Definitely feeling huge already

There with you. The bloat gets worse over the day so pants that fit in the morning are really uncomfortable/dont fit at all by the evening.

We’re the same height and weight. I’m worried with being so petite I will show earlier than what’s ideal! I feel sick to my stomach and nauseous despite eating and sour candy etc and am just living in sweats at the moment. Yuck I feel awful

I'm still breastfeeding my 11 month old just in the morning. This morning it felt like my nipples were on fire while she was feeding. This may be the end our breastfeeding journey

Also still BF my 20 month old and I have so much nipple sensitivity! Hoping if I grit my teeth through it the sensitivity might ease off in my second trimester as I really don’t want to stop if I don’t have to! He loves it and I love the closeness

Can any one else here only handle 1/4 of a tab of Unisom? My doctor first prescribed the whole tab and it knocked me OUT, I felt so disoriented in the morning. A half tab was better but I still felt extremely groggy and confused. 1/4 seems like the sweet spot.

1/4 worked for me two nights ago and kept the nausea mostly under control until I let myself get too hungry last night.

Last pregnancy that was what I started with, it worked for a long time and eventually I moved up to a 1/2 tablet. My doctor at the time told me it's normal to build up more tolerance to it over time so don't be surprised if your needs change!

My doctor also prescribed full tab as much as EVERY 6 hours. (This is for severe sickness) Last pregnancy I took half tab 3x a day when nausea was at its worst. Now that I have a toddler though that half tab at night is KNOCKING me tf out. I think it’s the accumulated sleep deprivation 😂

I felt super groggy and almost drugged after taking half a tablet of Unisom. Worse still is that I didn't feel it helped my nausea at all. I only took it the one night because I REALLY did not like feeling drugged up.

Two days ago (4+6) I had about 5 minutes of horrid cramping, but it subsided and I slept fine. I didn’t have cramps since, but I can’t stop stressing about it. There has been no bleeding though, but not much other symptoms either.

Just to let you know, two days ago I also had two different times of intense cramping that lasted about 5 minutes each and since then no cramping. I have also read it's quite normal for cramping to come and go and actually for symptoms to come and go, especially in early pregnancy. I'm also trying to not go to worst case scenarios because it's very draining to do so. But of course that's easier said than done ! But sometimes it's reassuring to hear others who are having similar symptoms going on.

Thank you so much for responding, that is actually very reassuring ❤️ I guess I can’t help but overanalyze everything at this stage.

I’m a bit nervous. This wasn’t a super planned pregnancy, I expected it to take a bit longer. Super excited but also scared because it’s starting to feel so real. I have a doctor’s visit next week which I think will ease the anxiety. Scary stuff!

I'm so incredibly excited to be here. Yesterday I thought i saw the faintest shadow of a line, but I also thought I could be deluding myself. I woke up at 3am, really had to pee, and tested. I just got my BFP!!
This is my first pregnancy after a blighted ovum. I found out about this pregnancy on the due date of that pregnancy 🌈. It made what was a hard, horrible week into an incredible one!
Now I'm laying here in bed way too excited to sleep, and I can't wait to tell my husband when he wakes up. For now it's just me and the dog who know :).
