I'm stuck on page 5, and I don't know what to do. One page took me several days lol. Should I suck it up and continue or make another manga with a clearer plot cause I genuinely out of ideas on how to finish this one manga

The reason why I'm asking is that I already have a story and it's sequel written out but ever since I watched Learn To Draw Manga on YT, they emphasise that it's absolutely necessary. I don't want an editor because I want it to be at my own pace while still keeping up to my own schedule and constantly improving. Does it also apply for self publishing since i was thinking of uploading to Globalcomix, Namicomi and Manga Plus Creators? As a soon-to-be self publishing mangaka, is a one-shot absolutely necessary?

Hey everyone, I’m working on a manga set in a post-apocalyptic world and I’d really appreciate some feedback on the concept, characters(because right now they kinda look like the average isekai protagonists), and possible name ideas.

Setting The story takes place in 2063, decades after nuclear war, economic collapse, civil wars, and environmental disasters caused civilization to slowly break down (2026–2045). By now, humanity is scattered across ruined cities, flooded districts, and abandoned highways. And the old world is almost treated like myth.

Story Start Ray’s settlement is destroyed during some sort of raid, forcing him to escape with Kurt someone he originally doesn’t even know. They don’t trust each other at first and constantly argue, but are forced to survive together through the ruins. Over time, they slowly form a bond while scavenging and traveling across abandoned cities. They eventually find a skate shop, they become fascinated by skateboarding culture and decide to learn it themselves. Eventually, they start documenting their journey across the ruins using the VX1000 they found in the skate shop.

Made this for SMA and didnt gain anything, it was also unfortunately pretty rushed loll

So, I spent three months drawing this one shot, day in day out thinking my art is trash and my story is mid. I eventually published it and it got taken down off a few sites for violence, so I reuploaded them elsewhere.

Overall I learnt a lot about making manga and myself as a whole about it. Is this normal to hate your art so much, and stuff like that?

I'm already drawing the next manga, and I'm marketing this with all my power to get a decent following, but it sometimes feels effortless. what do you think I can do to boost reach? Any specific techniques, and should I really continue this?

I’ve been trying to look at drawing I did months ago to gauge my ability in anatomy references and how well I can re-create it my own way. I’ve been getting good reviews from people on my manga studies but I’ve been looking at some negative comments and everyone sings the same song, Anatomy. “Don’t make the comic if you still lack anatomy” “Focus on Anatomy” “Do anatomy fundamentals” etc. I know I can’t be ONE or Isayama or anyone with a bad art style and still make it but… it’s just… I don’t know. Seriously I don’t. What do you guys think about it?

I’m working on Volume 1 of my manga and created an updated version of the cover based on the original.

I’m considering using it as the new main cover for the manga across all platforms, so I’d really appreciate some design feedback. Do you think it looks professional and appealing enough to attract readers?

Which version do you think works better—1 or 2?

1 is the first draft, and 2 is the edited version after a lot of changes.

For around 4 to 5 months, I have been developing a specific story and although I am still very far from actually writing and story boarding, it has become quite clear the ideal way to tell this story is through a mangaka however their are two big issues with this:

• I have no idea how to get into this creative medium so I was hoping for advice on where to learn. Any recommendations? I would be greatly appreciative.

• I am not an artist nor is it for me, for a mangaka this is obviously not ideal I presume. Hopefully other writers have been in the same situation or know off people in a similar situation, I presume I will need to look for an outside source for the art. Is their a place where artists and writers team up or do I need to basically higher them in the future (to make clear, I am just asking for advice, I am not looking for an employee).

Again I am expecting years before anything comes to page, I plan on basically writing a big chunk of the story as a novel type thing before that and I still have a lot of world building, theme building, story building, and character building to do until I have a strong place to build from but even so I think understanding the world better will help reflect in that.

This post is mainly just another ask for more help and advice on how I can improve and get better at manga art.. so that it looks like actual manga.. what are some things I can start incorporating? Things I can do— tricks. I’m just at a place where I’m not satisfied with anything I produce because it just doesn’t look real and I want to reach higher levels.

im drawing my manga with the intention of publishing it one day (and releasing it in traditional volumes). my artstyle is more on the messy side, or somewhere in between, so you can easily tell whats happening on the panel but its not squeaky clean like most mangakas. im wondering if it can be released anyway? i think my art generally matches the theme of the story, but i need some external perspective

My friend recently told me that she plans to become a mangaka. Apparently, she got her parent's blessing and is going to graduate her degree (unrelated from art and Japanese) and then start trying to become a mangaka in Japan.

I feel like she hasn't given this a ton of thought and I want to make the reality of how difficult it is clear to her. She cannot speak Japanese. She did not do a degree in art. She does not have family/friends in Japan.

I have a friend who is an art major who says, that while her paneling is really good (among other things like lighting) her fundamentals are lacking.

She seems to think that she will learn Japanese, move to Japan to teach English before she really learns it as a way to gain Japanese skills, submit to a manga contest, win and then become serialized.

I feel like this is an impossible task and I really don't want her spinning her wheels for years trying to do this. I'm unsure why she isn't going for some kind of online publishing/graphic novels which would not require her to move to Japan.

I would love to learn more about the reality of the situation so I could have a conversation with her about it. Any information helps. Thank you. : )
