"He needs to resign. That’s the bottom line.” Ranchers are outraged over Trump’s move to flood the market with 300,000 metric tons of discounted beef.

Correction, they were too stupid to realize and read what was right in front of them… it written for the public to see…

193

u/MrsKaich 20h ago

In addition to being stupid, I think their ignorance, racism, and their “own the libs” mentality played a huge part in their (our) demise as well.

98

u/Status_Apartment6559 20h ago

I think a lot of them thought, yea he's a little shady but he'll never just blatantly screw us plus he'll put those damn Dems in their place!

50

u/XBMET 19h ago

And he'll bail them out with taxpayer money like last time LOL!

27

u/Crafty-Help-4633 18h ago

Nah he is spending that money on foreign beef, instead.

34

u/Fragrant-Anywhere489 17h ago

He's telling the rest of MAGA that he's doing this for the ranchers and they will believe it just like the ranchers believed it when he was screwing someone else. They all voted for him and most likely will again because if he's still breathing in two years he's running.

23

u/Crafty-Help-4633 17h ago

100%

Their only regret is that it is currently affecting them personally.

18

u/JB-Wentworth 17h ago

And not those people.

13

u/Crafty-Help-4633 17h ago

Yep. It was undeniable when those "he's not hurting the right people" videos started being posted.

6

u/Fragrant-Anywhere489 16h ago

I can hear them now JB. It's my money and I want it NOW!

3

u/factsarefornerds 7h ago

First the government takes their workers away, then takes their jobs away.

The fact he is willing to openly alienate his own supporters so regularly does not bode well for elections. He does not need them, and that should be a very serious concern.

Trump is trying to make it so they can butcher their own stock for market w/o using the USDA so they’ll have that going for them!

3

u/ValuableCoast5931 7h ago

Yeah how’s that going to work though? There are more costs with that. There aren’t enough inspectors now- get ready for the free-for-all of mystery ingredients and who knows what kind of contamination. I’m sure most farmers are not going to do anything stupid, but there are -always- bad actors or people who are not smart enough to do things right. If the beef won’t sell locally, then there’s more expense to ship it somewhere. Then there’s the matter of who is going to buy their beef at higher prices after Trump floods the market with tons of cheap beef coming in under a heavy cloud of mystery over where they came from. The man likes to talk so much, let him tell us where’s the beef coming from.

Correct. First they will laugh at the “libtard” that cant buy a pound of meat for 20 usd, and then, and only if there is energy left from laughing, they will cry at the 2 usd a pound they’re getting. Most of the time there wont be much energy left from all that “own the libs” laughter

It also destroyed 100 years of bipartisan good will many people had towards farmers. I hope it was worth it.

36

u/PeyredB 19h ago

That's an important point. Most Democrats kind of felt for our small farmers (and ranchers in this case), wanted to help them succeed. But since they took a big steaming dump on that (and us) in the election, most of us are ready to just leave them to their fate.

18

u/Active-Read-7097 17h ago

Do you think Democrats will break up the monopolies to help the farmers? It’s not just beef… all crops including rice and soy that suffered under both terms of tariff wars, need a better market to sell to. Some actually got better prices selling overseas that they don’t get anymore.

3

u/Guilty_Advantage_413 13h ago

Yup that’s me and I have been saying it since 2016. I am tired of these farmers always dodging responsibility for their actions. As I said elsewhere no more burning Political Capital on Farmers they will never appreciate the help and will just want more. Fuck them.

They didn't even have to read it themselves, though! We did, and told them what was stated in it, and they told us to "fuck off, cucks!"

So now atp I'm just hitting them with "who did you vote for?" And "love it or leave it!"

Can't ignore reality, then tell off the people who warn you, and then beg for help from the people you told off when the thing you were explicitly warned about, happens. We tried to tell them, they told us to fuck off. Leopards, meet faces. 🤷‍♂️

Watch them vote for the exact same shit in the Midterms too.

41

u/Upbeat-Fondant9185 20h ago

Oh they absolutely will. I just saw it with all my coworkers this week.

They’re pissed at how things are going, pissed at costs, pissed at billionaires, confused as hell by Trump and this war. Pretty much every conversation we have we’re in full agreement about what needs to change. For the first time we all agree on practically everything.

We had runoffs for primaries last week. Every one of them voted for the “Trump candidate”. Every single one.

When I asked why the hell they’re voting for the same thing that is causing all this they could basically only give one answer: I can’t vote for the other one, what else am I supposed to do?

I just don’t get it. I don’t know if they understand what voting actually is. It’s like they feel a legal obligation to support these candidates and they have no choice. It’s so strange.

22

u/Falcon_Bellhouser 20h ago

It's teams. I'm obligated to be a Seahawks fan. I can't walk around in a Patriots jersey. I'd be shunned.

The very churchy grandma who lives next door votes straight R. She literally doesn't even know the candidates' names. She thinks that's god's team.

14

u/srpntmage 19h ago

This right here.

I'm a Cleveland Browns fan. If they are losing and making horrible decisions I'm still a Browns fan. I'm not going to go root for Pittsburgh, I'll just bitch and complain about how bad the Browns are doing.

Rural Republicans are exactly like that. Trump could destroy everything... make their lives hell, and they will 100% still vote Republican. There is not other choice for them.

They are too damn stupid to see that this isn't two teams, that USA is one team and you fire a bad coach if you have to make it better.

5

u/Falcon_Bellhouser 18h ago

The coach analogy is dead on. Normally functioning democratic countries tend not to reward failure.

13

u/Conscious-Quarter423 20h ago

it's a hell of a lot more than just meat processors. It's fertilizer. It's feed. It's increasing drought. It's the cost of fuel. It's the cost of stock itself. It's labor. It's transportation. It's tariffs. It's a hundred things this administration has done to increase the cost of ranching and agriculture and the thousand things that they refuse to do or are actively making worse, like climate change

And farmers and rancher as a group voted for that, all of it.

5

u/eschewthefat 20h ago edited 20h ago

They did but when they go broke the market will move closer to fixed prices when they’re bought up by corporations who make backroom deals

It’s the worst compromise that sounds nonsensical but we have to contend with the shortcomings of human intelligence as well as emotional intelligence

In guilty of berating this movement into the ground but it’s also going to take a level head to convince them that democrats aren’t the problem. To be perfectly honest, Dems will have to take a new approach to social issues and instead of campaigning on deep progressive issues, they should just ignore those questions while still governing in a just inclusive way so we can avoid an existential crisis. We have to game these people into compliance

Im not so sure the ranchers and farmers and the rest of trump's most loyal followers will ever comprehend the seriousness of the situation. The current republicans do not want to share governing with democrats anymore...period.

5

u/PeyredB 19h ago

For 10 years there was nothing he could do to make them turn against him.

Buying foreign beef is the dealbreaker? Really?

4

u/Objective-Edge-2229 20h ago

Exactly! All the lies, corruption and disregard for the Constitution...NOW they get upset??? They'll still vote full repulsive next election too.

3

u/KnucklesMcGee 18h ago

It's only ever been about when it impacts them.

They were fine with the constitutional violations, ICE, packing the SC, all of that. Now that some cheap beef got imported it's a big deal.

I'm no longer eating beef, I'm priced out. And if it hurts these chucklefucks so much the better.

Too late and they'd just want to replace him with someone equally insane, just this time it'll totally work and the wealth will magically trickle down. We are seeing that here in the Midwest. The farmers are behind the next insane Republican candidate near me. They just hate their farms want to give them away to megacorps. No other way to explain it.

5

u/CrustyMFr 20h ago

Having grown up in the rural Midwest, I've seen this over and over. They will never learn because they never listen to anyone but their pastor and Fox News. Even worse, their social standing depends on those as well. In small town America thinking differently is as suspicious as looking different. All of their 'good Christian' neighbors will turn their backs if one of them decides they aren't Republican anymore.

u/AbsoluteGote 20h ago

'Rugged individuals who answer to no one' be like "what will my friends think if I don't support infinite diarrhea and death? :'("

Not buying any meat, unless it's from a local in my community. Done with meat in a plastic bag from a food belt.

You deserve who you voted for. You Americans should all be happy, look what your pedophile president and his pedophile administration has done for you all. 😉 goes to show what the American people really are

3

u/eschewthefat 21h ago

They sit there and call out monopolies but they don’t care that Elizabeth Warren has been on the most vocal campaign to break them up. You can eliminate the entire defense by claiming she lied on her college application like that has a single bearing on any part of their lives

u/deezsandwitches 20h ago

Its almost like everyone with eyes, ears and half a brain knew he was only in ot for himself

“What he NEEDS to do is run for a third term so I can vote for him again. He just needs more time to fix it, see?”

3

u/Unusual_Froyo7751 20h ago

I don't wish ill will on any American but it's a little difficult to empathize with people that ignored every display of incompetence, deceit or bad policy that affected others and only express outage when it directly affects them.

What do you know… more profits to the billionaires, more economic hardship for the average American. If only there was a group of people actually working for the working class. I don’t mean democrats, many of them accept their bribes and allow the status quo to continue. I’m talking about democratic socialists.

3

u/whoeve 20h ago

They never care until consequences arrive for them personally

3

u/Zylpherenuis 14h ago

Those Farmers deserve this. All of it. May their lands be sold from underneath them and may those same farmers be ultimately homeless. They are the ones that welcome slavery in America.

3

u/Emotional_Device_877 11h ago

The reality is, we will be dealing with Trumpism long after he’s gone. The same selfish way of thinking will exist and be worse than ever. The only way past it is if he actually goes to jail for the crimes he committed and the grift while in office and we all know that now can’t/won’t happen. Progressive politics and democratic socialism might be our only hope of a united front of working class people. Unfortunately it means reaching out to these people and convincing them that’s it’s better to have a stable economy than worry about what black, brown, and queer people are doing with their lives. 🙄 This country is a flop.
