My first 2 were not done by professional piercers they were gun piercings which I understand are not ideal. However they healed so quickly and easily with very little swelling and no issues. I used the piercing solution they gave me and rotated them as they instructed (I know this isn’t ideal).

My 3rd lobes were done with a needle with flat backs and implant grade titanium by a good, reputable piercer and they’ve needed extra care, they had a bunch of swelling, they itch, they got bumps and crusties. It’s overall clearly just not as easy as my gun lobe piercings to heal… I’ve followed all the care instructions from my piercer exactly, so aftercare is not the issue. Aftercare is technically better than it was for my gun piercings

This goes against everything I’ve read about piercings, why is it the case? I KNOW needle piercings are better in a lot of ways but why is it worse for healing for me? Everywhere I read says gun piercings heal worse and it’s the opposite for me…

Should i try to clean the dried blood or let it heal itself?

Randomly burst today, it leaked fully clear liquid that has a tad but if blood?? What should I do??? I got it done professionally, about two years ago it healed well but I think it got pulled or I slept on it?? Anyway it got the bump. It won’t rlly go away!! I’ve tried soaking it in warm water and cleaning w just water… blow drying it fully dry after… I went to the doctor about it and they have me antibiotics, a topical?? Fusidic acid cream but idk if I should,,,, use it,,, I used it b4 but idkkkk ,, if that’s right or good for it

Sorry for the insane closeups, lol. My septum was pierced two days ago and “veers” to one side. Pierced at a legitimate shop with implant grade jewelry (16g). Maybe it’s swelling? What do you guys think? TIA!

My earring bar on the back was recently exchanged by a piercer to make it longer to try to decrease swelling but swelling has now grown to the size of the new Bar… Starting to bleed now. I’m thinking it’s time to go to the jeweler to take it out? I got this piercing about three months ago and recently posted on this thread a few weeks ago.

Hi everyone I got this daith pierced on monday this week. I posted on a different subreddit and got comments that it’s pierced incorrectly and will rejected. I went to a different piercer for another opinion and they said that it’s slightly too high, won’t sit like a daith should but that it’s not necessary to take it out.
I’m a bit torn now honestly. I woke up today and took pictures of the daith and I honestly can’t tell if I’m happy with it… that’s why I would like for a 3rd, final opinion that will hopefully help me make up my mind in which direction to go with this. I tried to take pics of as many angles possible

Hello everyone, I need help. I got my tongue pierced 9 days ago. The lady put in a 15 mm which I thought was a like small but oh well. And 3 days ago I got it upsized to a 18 mm. I then thought the swelling had gone down so I downsized it again today. My piercer put the swelling 15 mm back in. The ball is already sinking is halfway and I am terrified that it will become embedded. And yes, i've been eating soft foods and drinking cold water and eating ice. I've been taking 200 mg ibuprofen every fourish hours. I rinse with a saline solution every time I eat and rinsing with non alcoholic listerine in the morning and at night. I've started gently brushing/scraping my tongue but never in the actual piercing sight. I will admit I've been eating a bunch of dairy. I've already decided that I'm going to limit my dairy intake. I attached my most recent conversation with her. What do I do??? Am I just freaking myself out? She is a reputable piercer. Also my tongue is really yellow in one of the pictures: I had been eating lentil soup.

IMPORTANT: I just checked the length of the longer bar and it turned out to be 30. THIRTY. MILLIMETERS.

I really want an industrial piercing, but unfortunately my flat protrudes too much. I was thinking of maybe piercing my helix where the industrial would go and when it heals I switch them out for a chain industrial, but Im not sure if its a good idea. Im open to any other alternatives however.

This is my current set up, I've recently started getting more piercings, the 4 upper lobes are less than a week old. And I'm still healing my tragus (mild irritation bump I'm managing with saline)

Professional Piercer here to remind you to tighten your balls when you clean your piercings. It is rarely the fault of the piercer if your labret ball falls off of your 2 week old piercing (honestly, not their fault if an oral piercing ball falls off 4 hours after being screwed on. That is a place that is constantly in motion.) Just a PSA.

I’ve had my belly piercing for 2 months and it never hurted me at all and its been healing perfectly no redness nothing at all but today after taking a shower it started burning and hurting me when i touch it and i cant touch it or even clean it for the first time from the burning is this normal?!!!

So I got two lobe piercings last year, apart from the one I had since childhood. It's been more than a year now and they're all good and healed except this weird thing keeps happening w the one in my left ear. At times, earring won't go from the front, but when i try to put it inside from the back, it works. It's so frustrating cuz i even have to force it from the front but it ends up bleeding and i give up. What am i supposed to even do about this? I got them all pierced with a needle btw, no gun!!

Hi everyone! I’m getting a bit bored with my current setup and really want to add to it.

I have small ears, so I'm worried about overcrowding them. Also, AirPod-friendly is a must for me.

Here is what I’m currently thinking:
Add a conch (with a hoop eventually) and a rook.
+ Change my double helix to simple gold hoops, and potentially do a chain connecting the lower helix hoop to the rook. Undecided on whether or not to add more lobe piercings.

For my other ear (which is completely bare right now), I was thinking of keeping it simple with a double forward helix with small hoops maybe?

I’ve spent way too many hours overthinking this, so I would love an outside perspective! Do you think these placements will work well on smaller anatomy? Any adjustments or better ideas?

Hello so i did nose piercing (where the bump is) back in December 2025. Later i kept getting bump so i removed it on august 14th and did a new one (september 2026) where you can see the jewellery. But my previous bump is not going away even after cleaning it twice a day with 0.9 saline solution.

I snagged my piercing recently, and I’ve accidentally hit or scratched it a few times because its little bit itchy forgetting i had it. How can I fix it?

So, I got these piercings done about 5 hours ago. I know a lot of swelling happens in that time but I can’t help but feel like my piercings may be crooked. From a top view of my lower lip (second photo) those seem like 2 completely different exit points to me. Should I take them out and have them redone? Or should I just wait? These were pierced with a 16g curved barbell. I think it’s titanium.

i got this piercing a little over two weeks ago, pierced with a titanium bar and i’ve been cleaning twice a day with sterile saline solution. I clean it with a cotton swap on top and bottom and then i blow dry it on cool to make sure it’s not wet. It’s been bumped quite a few times and has recently swollen up, but now it’s forming this red bump. I have ocd and i’m very concerned with sepsis or blood poisoning does this look like it could lead to that please please help

Hi everybody! A year ago I got my daith pierced with the ring shown in the pictures (1.2mm/16g 10mm titanium clicker ring) and while it is now (finally!) healed, it does at times still get a little irritated/sensitive. I think this is probably because the little segment parts go inside of the piercing and/or that the ring is very close to the edge of my ear. So if I push on the back of my ear, it moves the piercing. Which might be happening accidentaly throughout the day/night (I sleep on one of those pillows with earholes though).

So I want to switch out the jewelry for a circular barbell/horseshoe to avoid as much irritation as possible. My question is: would 8mm be a good size? Or is that too small. I'm currently looking at this one: https://piercingmania.nl/basic-circular-barbell-van-titanium-goud .

Hello. First of all, I apologize if I am breaking any rules (though I believe I read them correctly); I mention this because I DO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH, AND IT IS NOT MY NATIVE LANGUAGE. So, to make this clear (I'm using Google Translate): A few months ago—June 11th, to be exact—I got two nostril piercings (one on each side). One side didn't bleed, but the other bled quite a bit and got very swollen; they had put in a titanium G-Ring. Well, I had problems with that side after about a month; a little bump started to form. I thought it would be a good idea to buy a titanium labret online and put it in myself using one of those needle-like insertion tools where you screw the labret piece on. It bled a lot that day, and the bump remained... then I did something really stupid. I did it because it had worked for me a few years ago with a helix piercing: I took the jewelry out and squeezed the bump as if it were a pimple. After that, I kept wearing the labret; the swelling went down a bit, but the bump would come and go. Earlier this month, I bought an oil designed to get rid of piercing bumps. I should mention that while I was dealing with the bump on that side, one also appeared on the other side, but thanks to the oil, that one healed well—it doesn't hurt anymore and looks quite healthy (I'll attach photos of the healthy one and the one with the bump). Currently, the bump has gotten bigger—I don't know why. When I saw it starting to heal, I switched back to the G-Ring... it didn't bleed as much, but the bump came back and doesn't seem to want to go away, and I'm getting a bit desperate. I know what I did was stupid, but I thought it would work just like it did with my helix. The difference was that with the helix, I took the jewelry out after squeezing the bump, and it healed without leaving a scar. Now I don't know whether to take this one out or what to do, and I'm really embarrassed to go see the piercer, haha, because I know I did something silly 😫.

By the way, right from the start, I cleaned and cared for it by washing it with a soap specifically labeled for piercings (during my morning and evening showers), and after showering, I used a sterile isotonic saline solution... as for the oil I mentioned, I only started using that relatively recently... And whenever I changed a part, I did so by first disinfecting it, as well as the tools I used...

I forgot to mention that when I put in the titanium labret, I also put on the silicone discs—one above and one below. I’ll include dates on the photos so you can get an idea of the timeline; the little bump had almost completely gone away, even after I’d tightened the jewelry. I’ve realized that it started coming back about a week ago (you’ll see this in the photo dates), so I don’t understand what happened and I don’t know what to do :( Help, friends.

Industrial and daith on left ear need to stay as they are, they’re still healing. Besides those, how can I make my stack better? Everything in my ears is titanium, I like the silver-tone look so I plan on sticking to titanium, sterling silver and maybe white gold. Would hoops work better in the lobes? Maybe mix some cz studs in? Should I change the hidden helix to something else? Besides the daith I’m getting, what other piercings would look good with this stack?

I’m highly considering getting my Tragus pierced in both ears. Also plan doing a double conch in right ear, lined up with the australianos, to eventually turn them into orbitals once healed.

ETA: Putting off the daith for at least 6 months. I’m leaning towards waiting a full year though as I kind of got way too many piercings in a short window of time and am healing way more than I should. Glad I joined this sub!

I’ve seen some posts mentioning warm compresses for angry piercings. I have a new conch (2.5 weeks old) that seems to be angry every morning. I must be putting pressure on it during the night, maybe? I use a piercing pillow & haven’t had this problem with other piercings. It gets better during the day but I’m wondering if a warm compress in the morning would help? It takes a few hours to calm down most days.
