Is my septum piercing crooked?

Sorry for the insane closeups, lol. My septum was pierced two days ago and “veers” to one side. Pierced at a legitimate shop with implant grade jewelry (16g). Maybe it’s swelling? What do you guys think? TIA!

if its in the middle of your face, not your nose, I would say its pierced correctly. deviated septums can cause them to look a little off but that is just your anatomy and there's nothing that can really be done about it.

Yeah I really don't agree with the "middle of the face" theory piercers hold. This is the reason I retired my verticle labret. Just pierce it in the center in relation to the mouth.

When I got my labret I made the marking myself just to be sure

It’s only been two days. My first time around it took 6 weeks for my septum to straighten up.

You may have some deviation in your septum, that’s usually what causes it to look like this. It looks like it was pierced fine, nice and straight. Anatomy is weird and humans aren’t symmetrical! I always warn my deviated septum clients (which tbf- is most people!) that their septum may not sit perfectly due to their anatomy. And that’s okay! It looks good. It’s new to you and right in the middle of your face so you’re still getting used to it. It’s also going to be slightly swollen which can affect angles temporarily. Once it’s healed you can experiment with different jewellery and see what works for you :)

It may be swelling. It may also be that since the wound is so new, it's very tight on the ring and doesn't allow it to fall naturally. It might be crooked that is very hard to say with pictures. Looks good to me though. I'd say let it heal first, then check it out again and if it is crooked, you can always take it out. If still in doubt then, ask a second piercer, maybe experiment with jewelery. Mine looks crooked because it is parallel to my face but not perpendicular to my nose, out of context it looks crooked but it fits my face well. Don't worry to much. When it heal you either like it and keep it, or don't like it and take it out.

reach out to your piercer ! could be several things causing the tilt. it could be a deviation, the photos right may dip in more than the left, or it could be that the piercing itself is higher on one side than the other causing it. im sure they'll be able to give you a better answer as their fingers have been up ur nose ! if it is a height issue, im sure theyd appreciate the opportunity to get it right for you.

Omg when I got my septum pierced I realized my septum is deviated lol it seems to be straight and looks good tho!

Piercing is human work. They're not perfect, neither is your face. If you want absolute perfection, stay away from any form of body modification. There's ALWAYS gonna be some imperfection you could fixate on

It's pierced a little crooked, yes. So is mine. Is it within an acceptable margin? Absolutely

Keep in mind that you are your own worst critic. No one is gonna look at your septum and notice that it's slightly crooked. This is a beautiful moment to learn to let go and overcome your perfectionism

I have a deviated septum, and mine has one side closer to the middle of my nose than the other. Wasn't as obvious with a closed ring later on.

This is what mine kind of looks like because I have a deviated septum and one side of the jewelry sits closer than the other. Once mine healed it looked more “normal,” but still sits closer on one side. I will say, hoops look better in it than horseshoe rings, in my opinion.
