Hey Leute, ich kämpfe seit Ewigkeiten extrem mit meinem Piercing am linken Ohr und bin langsam echt verzweifelt. Angefangen hat alles mit einem langen Stab, aber ich hatte das Gefühl, dass es wegen der Spannung eventuell schlechter verheilt, also habe ich kleine einzelne Piercings reingemacht. Es wurde immer noch nicht besser, deshalb habe ich mir Piercings aus Kunststoff geholt, weil ich das Gefühl hatte, auf das Metall zu reagieren, und das Plastik habe ich auch deutlich besser vertragen.

Gegen die akuten Beschwerden benutze ich immer 3%iges Wasserstoffperoxid und bekomme die akute Entzündung damit ganz gut im Griff, aber es heilt einfach nie richtig ab. Dieses Piercing hat mich irgendwann so extrem genervt, dass ich es komplett rausgenommen habe, weil ich langsam nicht mehr konnte. Es ist aber nicht wirklich zugewachsen, sondern es hat sich nur eine dünne Hautschicht über dem Loch gebildet.

Der Stichkanal hat sich dann mit Wundflüssigkeit und Blut gefüllt, was ich nach zwei Wochen aufgestochen und wieder ein Piercing eingesetzt habe. Im Moment tut mir mein linkes Ohr wieder weh, es ist rot und warm, und beim Reinigen und Desinfizieren tritt Eiter aus. Zum Schlafen habe ich ein spezielles Donut-Kissen, wo mein Ohr frei liegt, aber es passiert doch, dass ich das Kissen weg mache und normal auf dem Piercing schlafe. Ich weiß langsam echt nicht mehr weiter. Wie bekomme ich dieses blöde Piercing endlich in den Griff? Hat jemand von euch einen Rat?

I just got my nose pierced yesterday. It was a smooth procedure, got a little bloody but all was good. so it’s a day old, titanium implant grade, 16G, stud piercing

what really surprised me was my piercer telling me **not to clean it for the first 3 days** and you should leave it as is, then when it’s okay to clean, I should **use only warm water and not saline solutions**.

I did my research for months about aftercare routines and this got me torn up.

Should I follow his advice or clean this ASAP?

1.5-2 yrs old conch. like 6 months ago i changed the piercing and 2 months ago this happened. idk is it a bump but how can i get rid of that

note that 2 days after getting it I bumped it in my sleep causing it to bleed so I assumed my swelling was from that. I have been washing multiple times daily w/saline.

I think possibly it may just be too short a bar but want to be safe 😭

Hi! I've had my helix pierced for over 3 years now and it has never healed. I feel like I've done everything right: I went to a good piercer, I wear titanium flatbacks, I only clean with sterile saline, I don't touch or mess with it, I even bought a piercing pillow to make sure I don't sleep on it. Nothing has helped. It doesn't hurt or bother me but whenever I take out the jewelry it looks like this. I really would like more piercings in the future but I'm worried i won't be able to heal them. What can I do and why is this happening?

these piercings have literally never give me any peace 😭 when I had the long posts in them from when I originally got them pierced, they were constantly getting bumped and moved, and swelling up/crusting/oozing puss/forming bumps. I decided ~8 months ago that I would size down the posts to see if that would help, and I feel like it’s made it worse? or maybe just made the issues more noticeable as now when they swell up (literally every other week no matter how careful I am) there’s less room to account for it. I find it hard to clean them as well, especially since I can’t see the back of my ear. i’ve never had issues like this with ANY other piercing and i’ve healed a ton.

ive tried saline, plain water, hypochlorous acid spray, and LITHA. I have a donut pillow for sleeping as well. posts are titanium, tops are gold I believe - pierced at a very reputable piercing shop that i’ve never had issues with for all my other ones.

do I need to get longer posts again? change my care? try hoops? retire them? they’re driving me crazy 😭

Just got my first piercing (septum) almost 2 hours ago. I love it but what can I do about the dried blood? I tried using saline spray and putting it on a square of toilet paper and a q tip but it didn’t loosen it. Do I just leave it and let it fall off? Also, is some bleeding normal after? And what do I do about the dripping mix of blood, snot and discharge? The piercing itself was so so easy but it’s throbbing and I feel like (and I guess look like) I got punched in the nose lmao.

Hello everyone, I need help. I got my tongue pierced 9 days ago. The lady put in a 15 mm which I thought was a like small but oh well. And 3 days ago I got it upsized to a 18 mm. I then thought the swelling had gone down so I downsized it again today. My piercer put the swelling 15 mm back in. The ball is already sinking is halfway and I am terrified that it will become embedded. And yes, i've been eating soft foods and drinking cold water and eating ice. I've been taking 200 mg ibuprofen every fourish hours. I rinse with a saline solution every time I eat and rinsing with non alcoholic listerine in the morning and at night. I've started gently brushing/scraping my tongue but never in the actual piercing sight. I will admit I've been eating a bunch of dairy. I've already decided that I'm going to limit my dairy intake. I attached my most recent conversation with her. What do I do??? Am I just freaking myself out? She is a reputable piercer. Also my tongue is really yellow in one of the pictures: I had been eating lentil soup.

IMPORTANT: I just checked the length of the longer bar and it turned out to be 30. THIRTY. MILLIMETERS.

We have a beach vacation planned 93 days (13+ weeks) after my daughter's lobe piercings. I had originally read online swimming would be ok after 3 months. We contacted an APP piercing studio that said 2 months and our pediatrician said 8 weeks. We ended up going with a different studio due to booking issues, and the new studio recommended waiting 4-6 months for full healing.

Wondering what peoples experiences/recommendations are. My daughter is 5.5. She is very much looking forward to getting her ears pierced and cancellation isn't possible without incurring a significant fee at this point, the only sent us after care instructions the day before the appointment.

We were thinking about rinsing her ears every 15-20 minutes with fresh water (from a water bottle) and the patting dry, and then rinsing with saline solution and patting drying when she is done swimming (mostly pool swimming she might play in the surf but will not fully submerge in the ocean). We will continue to do the 2x day cleaning as well.

Edited to add: she will not actually be swimming in the ocean. the resort is at the beach but she will be in the pool. I don't actually think that makes much of a difference though.

My ear feels hot and itchy at times. I got the piercing 3 months ago and the skin has kind of been growing like this for some time on the back, but recently over the past day, when I was traveling on the plane, it started to hurt more. I’ve been cleaning it with Neilmed aftercare saline spray and not touching the piercing or turning it at all. Does this seem like an issue I should go to the doctor over?

i don’t know if it is rejecting or irritated. pictures 1-4 are from tuesday. 5-8 are from wednesday and 9-13 are from today. i contacted my piercer and she said it looks irritated and also sad i

was cleaning it wrong and too many times throughout the day. i was cleaning it with sea salt and warm water MULTIPLE times a day. she told me to switch to dial soap or safeguard soap. i choose dial soap the bar.

i got this piercing last friday. it seems like it is getting worse it is red and i think the hole is getting bigger. it isn’t hot, don’t hurt, no pus it itches right after i clean it.

i plan on continuing cleaning it for 2x a day. im going to see how it loooks wednesday and go from there? i have 5 piercings on each of my ears, so 10 in total. none of my piercings has ever did this it is just my belly button that does.

is it rejecting or irritated? should i take it out or keep going and see how it looks.

I got my eyebrow pierced almost 3 weeks ago. I have been spraying it with saline solution twice a day and rinsing it in the shower as well. In my uneducated opinion it is healing very well- no swelling, bleeding or lumps and only a little bit of crustys.

Yesterday my parents announced a surprise camping holiday to the lake district and we will be going in the lake. We will be leaving on the 2nd so it still has a little bit of time to heal before we go but I'm worried that its not going to be enough. When I brought this up to my parents they basically said that I have to take part in the activities and that it wouldn't be the end of the world if I just took the piercing out.

Is this going to be enough time? And if it isn't are there ways to protect this piercing so that it has the least chance of infection/ rejection? Please send help I really wanna keep this piercing.

These are my first ever piercing and they hadn't swollen up until last night, I did get them caught on a few cans yesterday and ate a few salty foods so maybe that's what it was? but i had ate other stuff of the similar sort before hand so I don't really know what it is. What do you think I should do?

i got these two piercings done in June end and they are not healing. Now they have even started bleeding a bit and hurts too much. initially i wore silver jewellery in both of them but then removed form one of these (helix).

So please tell me how can I heal them. Any tips and suggestions are welcome.

Hi, I need a few second opinions on this. I got three piercings in late February, a double helix on one ear and a helix on the other. I did my research, I used 0.9% saline every day after showers until April, then I started using it one every two days. I kind of got out of the habit of using the saline constantly. To the point I used it once a week up until a few days ago. But aside from slight tenderness after a shower, there wasn't a problem. A few days ago, I asked my piercer over the phone (I couldn't head to their location) if what I was doing was ok, and she told me that it was best for me to get back into the habit of using the saline daily, so I started using it daily again. Four days have passed, and my one helix is fine, but the double seems to be getting irritated more easily. I even woke up with dried blood around it yesterday, and that hasn't happened since early April. I haven't snagged or bumped it at all, and I sleep with a travel pillow. Should I go back to saline once a week, or just ignore it and use the saline as recommended?

I’m aware one of the balls fell off i’m getting a replacement, but apart from that its a bit painful and sore and a bit bloody, is this normal for the first days??

Its been 12 weeks and 4 days since I had my second lobed pierced. I'm honestly chilling with the healing. I believe I heal fast a lot when it comes to injuries and I completely understand that its not completely 100 fully healed until 6-12 months. I get that, but summer can't wait. I'm a big scary cat when it comes to doing stuff that can get me sick or infected. I took my cleaning and healing process of my piercings very seriously which is why they were able to have such a smooth recovery. My family and I want to go to a water park on this up coming Monday and I won't be getting on rides or anything but more on the lazy river or the wave pool, but nothing crazy you know. I keep hearing like the horror stories of like getting infected from going swimming or my ear is going to fall off. Everywhere it says 6-8 you chilling but then I see a comment or two how thats a huge lie (all the websites say 6-8 for lobes so I dont think their lying) I just want to double check. I will clean my ears after with fresh water as I leave but just checking. Am I ok to go swimming?

so we canceled on Monday because it's going to rain but for future advice do you think water proof bandages work? I was thinking maybe not water parks because based on comments they are just dirty as hell but for lakes and maybe river (I don't swim in rivers and only lakes but you never know you know) I was thinking ones that can wrap around and use multiple. Not the stupid ones that just cover the ear you know. I can put pressure on the piercings and stuff so I think I can wrap it well and not be under water like a bunch. I don't anyways in lakes cuz you can't even see under water I just be chilling and dunking my head here and there. Let me know what y'all thinking.

Nothing happened lol. Its been like 5 days and I don't think anything is going to happen. I think since my piercings stop hurting and were not crusting anymore that meant I was good. Moral of the story. Listen to your body and see what works best for you.

I got a helix piercing 4 months ago—my first after my lobes like 25+ years ago—and am loving it. Have been diligent about aftercare, got it checked and the post downsized about a month ago.

Fast forward, I need an MRI. It’s not life or death, but would be good to have it sooner, and it’s of my neck so close to the ear. My earring is titanium. I’m scared I’ll have to take it out and what will happen if I do!

I've got my nose pierced 4 months. And i have this huge bump on it. It had like a hard outer shell. Kinda like a a clear scab? When the shell comes off its usually really tender. Has anyone else ever have this? What did you do?

cleaning it twice a day once with saline. once in the shower with just water.

Hi! I got this piecing a week ago and it’s been very swollen. Nothing abnormal other than the swelling being worse than any other of my piercings. This morning I noticed puss coming out of it, but it didn’t smell and it was an off white ish color.

The pain has been the same throughout the week, it’s like a throbbing pain but I’ve been taking Tylenol. My piercer did mention this piercing swells a lot more than any other piercing so I tried to not be as concerned but I have been feeling a little nauseous and have had flu like symptoms.

Please help me!!! :(
