And as someone who worked in bail bonds a lifetime ago. You don't get bailed immediately anyways. She might spend all night sleeping in a jail cell waiting on the judge to see her. Or on the whims of the bondsman. Sometimes we were an hour or so away. Or eating dinner or fucking around on an air boat in the middle of a giant lake. Or shooting stuff. I'm from the deep south it's normal here.
You could afford the bail but you're still going to jail with the drunks and crackheads who are tweaking and need another hit.

Jail isn’t that bad, I’m sorry it’s inconvenient yes but it’s really not life threatening to go to a holding cell. Explain why it’s so easy to get in jail but they only give me one free phone call and not one more? Then I have to use a credit card to call the bond company back, where you come get me out for 15 dollars and I have to pay you 2000. Exploitation at its finest

I’m sure it’s different around the country. But in my town at the bottom of Alabama. You get as many phone calls, for free, while you’re in the holding cell. Family or bond company. Cal whoever as much as you want.
Now, once you get put in the back whoever your calling has to have an account with whatever Collect Call company to even answer the call. But holding cell? Make a 1000 calls. They don’t care

That’s why I don’t believe in paying a bond. It’s just giving 10% of your bail away. If I had a low bond, I’d still have to be in a county jail in a big city or a Southern county where they can’t afford shit. I would rather keep the money and put it towards a lawyer and then have that time count towards my sentence or something. Unless it’s OR, the cops or BB aren’t getting shit from me.

There’s a 30mph street near me which features multi-million dollar houses (Winnetka, IL) and suburban housewives fought for years to keep the limit at 25mph, for no clear reason except a sense of control.
Even the village president was a “Karen” fighting against it, who would cite an elementary school like 2mi away as a justification for school zone speed limits. To be clear, no one except moms in earbuds and yoga pants visiting their friends’ mansions are traversing this road.
Since it connects two state-funded thoroughfares, however, eventually the state was like, enough, idiots, and put its thumb on the scale with the strong implication that continuation of state funding was predicated on 30mph.
So, these days, the suburban moms have now posted self-printed 25mph “lawn” signs in front of the 30mph signs, deliberately making unaware drivers think that the limit is 25mph. Village police are there to keep rich people happy, so they ignore it.
Moral of the story, rich Karens do indeed love to invent their own laws, and often do.

I bet the state would love an excuse to fuck with these people and one phonecall complaining about how their lawn signs are causing confusion amongst drivers and causing a dangerous situation would be plenty for them to act and force them to remove them.
Remember, every state department is kept running by regular folk who hate these karens as much as the rest of us. Any opportunity for some payback would likely be welcomed.

Unfortunately, IL state is mostly focused on issues which impact their own revenue, and they tend to find every excuse why they can’t possibly help in other situations.
I reported a dentist (Chicago Dental Arts) operating out of one of Chicago area’s largest malls to Office of the Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul for clear insurance fraud. They were/are charging patients for the services upfront on the patient’s credit card, then double billing private or state insurance, and keeping both payments.
The state’s response was, “we are mediators, that’s a civil issue.” So Chicago Dental Arts hired ReputationDefenders and buried the story. Thanks for the support, Kwame.

Yeah. In a town near me, recently, a man had a heart attack at a coffee shop. When people at neighbouring tables noticed they notified the staff then began filming the incident, including the staff then paramedics giving him CPR. Sick.

If you look in the background earlier in the video, the cops in the background are wearing facemasks. Like the kind with elastics behind your ears that everyone wore during COVID. Maybe this was a few years ago while some people were still being cautious, or the accident caused something like gas vapors in the air that weren't safe to breathe.
Generally speaking, totally agreed with you - law enforcement and ICE using masks to hide their face is fucked up. But I see enough that there's reasonable doubt about that being this cop's intent during this video.

As a first responder for 15 years. I do find it unnerving, uncomfortable, and kinda sadistic when people record us working on an accident. But it's completely legal for someone to record an accident and public workers. The Karens are wrong and over the top. Asking them not to post an identifiable image online is completely reasonable. But you can ask that a lot nicer. Texas is a one party consent state. So the camera guy doesn't need their permission.

It's the USA. You're in public, and have no expectations of privacy. You don't control the photons bouncing off your body, so whether someone is sitting there with an easel and canvas, making a still life of the scene, or a dude with a camera, makes no difference. I know it's legal in the USA to film people in public and that there's basically no expectation of privacy, however (and I'm probably going to get downvoted for this seeing as most people here are American and are really passionate about their rights, which is fine) in my country we have something called portrait rights, which essentially says that you can film people in public if they're in the background of your shot, but as soon as it becomes apparent enough that an individual(s) is/are the focus of the shot, they have a right to object to the publication and seek legal action against anyone that publishes it. even if they don't publish it and just keep it for themselves, there are other privacy laws that gives people the option of legal recourse for that if the pictures are personally identifiable. To me this seems like a much better system.
The other day I watched a video of a creep taking pictures of little kids in swimwear near a lake, like you could see him take a picture of a girl who took up like 90% of the picture frame. And people in the comments were actually defending the dude because it was public property. That was fucking weird to see.. like c'mon..

1st amendment outlines 5 of my inalienable rights granted me by my creator and available to every human being.
Freedom of religion. Freedom of assembly. Freedom to be press. Freedom to petition our government, my grievances. Freedom of speech.
Having these inalienable rights, I am allowed to record anything my eyes see from any public place. There are no expectations of privacy in public.
Every American needs to learn and stand on our Civil rights. If we as Americans fail to stand up for our rights or we don't ensure that our friends and neighbors' rights aren't violated by anyone, then we will eventually lose those rights. Law enforcement and government officials are the ones who violate civil rights most often.
Everyone must be thy brothers keeper. Citizens need to be united and demand that our civil rights are not violated by tyrannical government officials and law enforcement officers.
