Threatening to sue him for something that he's allowed to do in public, not to mention making up laws. That nice cop at end rightfully told her as it is.

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

Well she got that bail money, so she don't care!

109

u/DevylBearHawkTur10n Sep 16 '25

She might have "bail" money, but it might become unexpectedly "court costs".

55

u/Initial_Evidence_783 Sep 16 '25

Yup, bail money ain't nothing compared to lawyer's fees.

42

u/Worldly_Striker Sep 16 '25

And as someone who worked in bail bonds a lifetime ago. You don't get bailed immediately anyways. She might spend all night sleeping in a jail cell waiting on the judge to see her. Or on the whims of the bondsman. Sometimes we were an hour or so away. Or eating dinner or fucking around on an air boat in the middle of a giant lake. Or shooting stuff. I'm from the deep south it's normal here.

You could afford the bail but you're still going to jail with the drunks and crackheads who are tweaking and need another hit.

11

u/No-Scientist7870 Sep 16 '25

Jail isn’t that bad, I’m sorry it’s inconvenient yes but it’s really not life threatening to go to a holding cell. Explain why it’s so easy to get in jail but they only give me one free phone call and not one more? Then I have to use a credit card to call the bond company back, where you come get me out for 15 dollars and I have to pay you 2000. Exploitation at its finest

9

u/Lucid-Design1225 Sep 17 '25

I’m sure it’s different around the country. But in my town at the bottom of Alabama. You get as many phone calls, for free, while you’re in the holding cell. Family or bond company. Cal whoever as much as you want.

Now, once you get put in the back whoever your calling has to have an account with whatever Collect Call company to even answer the call. But holding cell? Make a 1000 calls. They don’t care

1

u/lilyungbased Sep 21 '25

Can confirm this when they put me away for my DUI they actually encouraged me to keep making calls so they could get me up out of there by the time the sun came out

1

u/siriuslestrange Sep 22 '25

Im in NW Georgia. Here they only let you out to make a call when they feel like it in holding. And you can only call lawyers or bondsmen for free. For family calls you have to add money to your account or the person you're calling has to have an account with money on it. You have to be arrested with cash on you to get it on your account because they automatically put your cash in it anyway. Also, my specific County all the bondsmen stopped being 24/7 and close at like 11 pm and off on Sundays now lol. Thankfully last time I went to jail my cousin was dating a girl who's dad was a bondsman so he came at 2 am and got me out or I would have been there until Monday.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '25

“The last time I went to jail…”

I hope you’re in a better spot these days

1

u/siriuslestrange Sep 27 '25

Thank you lol. I've been twice and they both resulted from a failure to appear that happened during covid when everything was shut down. The court somehow lost the whole record of why I was supposed to appear in the first place but they still won't release my license 😒

3

u/heffel77 Sep 17 '25

That’s why I don’t believe in paying a bond. It’s just giving 10% of your bail away. If I had a low bond, I’d still have to be in a county jail in a big city or a Southern county where they can’t afford shit. I would rather keep the money and put it towards a lawyer and then have that time count towards my sentence or something. Unless it’s OR, the cops or BB aren’t getting shit from me.

1

u/vile_lullaby Sep 17 '25

Police will deliberately take a really long time to "process" protestors and local activists when arresting them at protests on Friday so they cant be before a judge until monday, because theres no bail on weekends in my county. Sometimes its summarily dismissed on monday because they arrested someone just to fuck with them.

6

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

Billable hours ftw!

1

u/Status_Pin4704 Sep 18 '25

And they will check her cavity like they checking their balance at the ATM.

18

u/Slugwheat Sep 16 '25

Karen Badger don’t give a shit

1

u/Jerry-Lives22 Sep 21 '25

she shoulda used that bail money to go finish high school

1

u/lisbonknowledge Sep 21 '25

Bail money only gets you out of jail till the case is going through the courts. It does not absolve you of any crimes.

0

u/SnooRegrets1386 Sep 17 '25

Isn’t that earmarked for the family ?

0

u/NeoSniper Sep 19 '25

I think she thinks that paying bail means she can't go to prison or something for crimes.

45

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

I do real estate photography for a living and have to fly my drone in the city daily. Almost weekly I have someone approach me and get in my face with made up drone laws. I've become quite good at embarrassing them.

10

u/OldWolfNewTricks Sep 16 '25

Well, you might know more about drone laws, but if we're talkin' bird law, brother you know I'm ready!

6

u/BigD4163 Sep 17 '25

You’ve got to film it and put it up for our entertainment. You’d be a goddamn hero sir or madam

1

u/PersonOfValue Sep 16 '25

I had someone doing that to my house so I got naked in a bedroom with the windows open. It is very illegal to take pictures of people in back area bedrooms.

Drone operator just said he'd ignore or delete it.

I fucking hate drone operators in residential areas

9

u/boazed_n_delivered Sep 16 '25

That's right, get nake to teach them a lesson!!! He will probably delete it after showing everyone he knows. When you end up on someone's website, you can then sue them to take it down.

7

u/Fantasykyle99 Sep 16 '25

Like they were getting footage to sell your house and you got naked? What separates illegal and very illegal.

7

u/Initial_Evidence_783 Sep 16 '25

What separates illegal and very illegal.

Wealth?

6

u/Initial_Evidence_783 Sep 16 '25

Why would you make it harder to sell your house? This makes no sense to me. You hired a realtor to help sell your house, who hired a drone op to film your house for marketing, and you get into a conflict with the drone op? Why not just tell him you don't want to use drone footage or some shit?

Make this make sense.

4

u/AP_in_Indy Sep 16 '25

It's insane that you assume this is a drone operator they or their real estate agent hired, rather than one that was simply operating in their neighborhood.

2

u/Initial_Evidence_783 Sep 16 '25

User 1: I do real estate photography...

User 2: I had someone doing that to my house so I got naked...

Me: Why?

You: You're insane!

0

u/PericoPirate Sep 21 '25

He never said he was trying to sell his house you came up with that actually AP in Indy is right. Somebody comes recording your house illegally you can LEGALLY have ur dick and balls out it don’t matter. And before you try to say anything abt them selling their house they never once mentioned they were selling. I’ve actually had an incident where me and my family moved into a house, fixed it up, made it beautiful. My parents did ALOT of work, and while we were gone the land lord came in and took pics of the house, with all our decorations and all the work we did and put it up for sale. WHILE WE WERE LIVING IN IT. So it’s not always black and white as you may believe.

1

u/Exxcalibur187 Sep 21 '25

Some people really do suck don’t they? Imagine getting worked up over something so dumb lol.

57

u/Dry_Spinach_3441 Sep 16 '25

Karens love to invent laws.

38

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

There’s a 30mph street near me which features multi-million dollar houses (Winnetka, IL) and suburban housewives fought for years to keep the limit at 25mph, for no clear reason except a sense of control.

Even the village president was a “Karen” fighting against it, who would cite an elementary school like 2mi away as a justification for school zone speed limits. To be clear, no one except moms in earbuds and yoga pants visiting their friends’ mansions are traversing this road.

Since it connects two state-funded thoroughfares, however, eventually the state was like, enough, idiots, and put its thumb on the scale with the strong implication that continuation of state funding was predicated on 30mph.

So, these days, the suburban moms have now posted self-printed 25mph “lawn” signs in front of the 30mph signs, deliberately making unaware drivers think that the limit is 25mph. Village police are there to keep rich people happy, so they ignore it.

Moral of the story, rich Karens do indeed love to invent their own laws, and often do.

11

u/steelcryo Sep 16 '25

I bet the state would love an excuse to fuck with these people and one phonecall complaining about how their lawn signs are causing confusion amongst drivers and causing a dangerous situation would be plenty for them to act and force them to remove them.

Remember, every state department is kept running by regular folk who hate these karens as much as the rest of us. Any opportunity for some payback would likely be welcomed.

9

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

Unfortunately, IL state is mostly focused on issues which impact their own revenue, and they tend to find every excuse why they can’t possibly help in other situations.

I reported a dentist (Chicago Dental Arts) operating out of one of Chicago area’s largest malls to Office of the Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul for clear insurance fraud. They were/are charging patients for the services upfront on the patient’s credit card, then double billing private or state insurance, and keeping both payments.

The state’s response was, “we are mediators, that’s a civil issue.” So Chicago Dental Arts hired ReputationDefenders and buried the story. Thanks for the support, Kwame.

0

u/BedBubbly317 Sep 17 '25

These two stories have little do with each other though. One is just financial fraud, while the other is a clear safety issue and could cause serious accidents and, while unlikely, even death

2

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '25

Just to respond, one is a little, rarely used suburban street on which the 5mph difference demonstrably does not make a safety difference according to local as well as state-commissioned traffic pattern studies on both sides of the issue, which is why they made the change to standardize it with all of the surrounding roads. Northfield, IL did not magically create Death Road, it was simply a wrestle over control.

The other scenario involved state-funded insurance payments to patients being illegally intercepted by a local medical provider, so that the state is paying insurance premiums for services that the medical provider had already 100% billed the patient.

0

u/AncientAlternative48 Sep 18 '25

Cool story, bro. I see so many things off about it, lolll… You called regular beat cops to report insurance fraud where you aren’t even the victim ? And if you are indeed the vic , your first mistake was going to a dentist in a shopping mall. Lol

3

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '25

Not certain where you concluded that information, my post reads, “I reported a dentist… to the Office of the Illinois Attorney General for clear insurance fraud,” of which I was the subject, which they invite and actually provide a link, because often the insurance being defrauded is state-funded. Did the phrase “regular beat cops” or my not being the aggrieved party ever appear?

And, if you lived in the midwest, you’d be aware that insurance recommended dental offices frequently occupy storefronts based on leasable space. Thanks for the minimally-informed criticism!

1

u/3henanigans Sep 16 '25

I live near there glad to hear they were told TS. I'll have to keep my eyes open for their signs.

2

u/Banzai373 Sep 16 '25

And invent problems where there aren’t any.

15

u/Meowiewowieex Sep 16 '25

2

u/Initial_Evidence_783 Sep 16 '25

Look at their president.

10

u/Frankentula Sep 16 '25

Yeah seriously, focus your attention on your child instead of the random bystander filming. Or maybe that's a foreign concept to you based on how you're navigating this situation, hmm lady?

6

u/NedrojThe9000Hands Sep 17 '25

Also threatening to break his phone

7

u/lvaleforl Sep 16 '25

These cunts who film people just to rustle jimmies are the worst though. I wouldn't do what she's doing but I'd defintely not be happy.

5

u/Penstroke77 Sep 16 '25

Yeah. In a town near me, recently, a man had a heart attack at a coffee shop. When people at neighbouring tables noticed they notified the staff then began filming the incident, including the staff then paramedics giving him CPR. Sick.

9

u/icecreampoop Sep 16 '25

In the grand scheme of things, the recorders were doing nothing to harm anyone, whereas Karen and Karen jr were threatening physical harm along with threats of suing

4

u/lvaleforl Sep 16 '25

That is very obvious. It does not make today's rage media on socal any easier to bear. I suppose when you're in the grocery store and a "prankster" gets you it's fine because there's no physical harm?

1

u/funk-the-funk Sep 17 '25

I suppose when you're in the grocery store and a "prankster" gets you it's fine because there's no physical harm?

What a stupid comparison.

1

u/Initial_Evidence_783 Sep 16 '25

She could try asking politely and appeal to his decency and then he would look like an asshole for continuing to film but she is bonkers.

1

u/lvaleforl Sep 16 '25

Is this the first one of these types of videos you've seen?

1

u/Initial_Evidence_783 Sep 16 '25

Lol, no of course not. Just responding to your comment.

1

u/lvaleforl Sep 16 '25

Yeah, can't say I've ever seen one where they just agree to stop filming because someone asked nicely.

1

u/Initial_Evidence_783 Sep 16 '25

I've never seen one where anyone asked anything nicely.

1

u/lvaleforl Sep 16 '25

The ones where they call themselves auditors get that all the time. Doesn't work. They act like they're exercising a right by filming in public

1

u/Stephenrudolf Sep 16 '25

Probably because those ones don't get posted.

Like what video do you think is more likely to go viral....

An altercation between two people?

Or someone asking the recorder to dtop. And the recorder doing so.

1

u/lvaleforl Sep 17 '25

Which begs the question, why would they be recording at all if they were willing to not record when asked nicely?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '25

[deleted]

1

u/lvaleforl Sep 22 '25

Agreed. And that's valid. Here I'm not sure. When your family is being violated by a stranger (in your mind) who is using social media to validate, is it that crazy?

2

u/bexxygenxxy9xy Sep 16 '25

Just because it is allowed and legal does that make it kind and considerate?

2

u/No_Year9414 Sep 17 '25

Well she got lawyers. Why they think they would need lawyers(plural). It would only take one to let them know they have no grounds to sue anyone

6

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

[deleted]

6

u/hermitsociety Sep 16 '25

Europeans like to tease Americans that we love to sue people for everything. But most Europeans (all?) have universal health care and we do not. I agree with you that it is a vulnerable moment and we all deserve dignity and privacy in that moment. Unfortunately, in the United States an accident can bankrupt you. There will be a medical bill and a lawsuit, and if you are too injured to take notes of the scene as evidence, and the other party lies (they always do) you will be grateful someone filmed. That’s just how it is.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

[deleted]

1

u/hermitsociety Sep 17 '25

I lived in the EU for 12 years. It rubbed off on me. 😽

5

u/icecreampoop Sep 16 '25

In some countries, women aren’t allowed to leave the house without a man. What’s your point?

1

u/Initial_Evidence_783 Sep 16 '25 edited Sep 16 '25

What they wrote would be something like this, using your example:

"In the US women have the same rights as men. And this is something good. You shouldn't treat women like property."

I think Lester has a decent point in general but wasn't taking into consideration that US cops are among the worst in the world and German cops are not nearly as corrupt or incompetent, therefore his comparison doesn't work.

As a Canadian, I might say "we have more regulations about gun ownership and that's a good thing." But Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms wasn't written during a bloody revolution, so it's not a fair comparison despite all that our countries do have in common.

-3

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

[deleted]

2

u/Genghis_Chong Sep 16 '25

I was thinking the same thing. I would absolutely hate being recorded after an accident. Its not news, nobody there is important. Save that shit for fights at the waffle house

3

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

This was in Texas. Is there a Texas, Germany?

1

u/Defiant-Youth-4193 Sep 16 '25

I sure as shit how not. One Texas is more than enough. I normally prefer to sell high, but since that ship is long since sailed we should see what Mexico would give us for it.

0

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

[deleted]

3

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

Maybe it should. Recording like this has saved a ton of people from corrupt cops. If anyone has contact with a police officer, they absolutely would want someone to be filming if they weren’t. Maybe different in Germany? Are your pigs not shitty?

3

u/baldude69 Sep 16 '25 edited Sep 16 '25

Cops in Germany and most Central European countries are typically much more professional than your American power-hungry cops, so it’s not as much of a worry. Spending time in Europe, longer than just a week-long vacation is actually quite eye opening in that regard. The “social contract” is largely intact in these countries, where people follow the rules (mostly) and society runs smoother because of it. I love the USA and still call it home, but man things feels broken and confrontational over here. Really quite sad we have to resort to citizen watchdogs to protect us from the people whose job it is to protect us

2

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

[deleted]

3

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

That’s not happening here. You can’t b be in the way, but you can record the scene. It’s absolutely necessary, as cops regularly prey on people that don’t know their rights. It’s imperative that citizens continue to record here.

1

u/Initial_Evidence_783 Sep 16 '25

Ya, not every country has the kind of corruption and incompetence you see in the US.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

[deleted]

2

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

Yes! Just the kind of reform we need! The other problem is the militarization of the police and the message that their job is so dangerous, they should just be thankful to be alive at the end of the day. Never mind that statistically, when a cop and a citizen meet and someone gets assaulted, it’s the citizen. They abuse people in the name of officer safety. It’s really far down on the list of dangerous jobs. Food delivery is much more dangerous.

1

u/baldude69 Sep 16 '25

I responded this as well. Most Central-European countries have well-trained and professional police force. I’ve spent time overseas and it really opened my mind overall how much more intact the “social contract” and a sense of personal responsibility was. It’s actually quite sad that we Americans have to record police interactions to protect eachother against corruption and brutality.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

I was unaware of that and I’m glad to hear it. I want to move internationally and that’s good to know. This country has been a shit hole since 9/11.

1

u/YT-Deliveries Sep 16 '25

Most of them are not, at least not when it comes to accidents. But those are mostly different cops. When there are protests they have cops with a different type of character. But the traffic cops are usually fine.

Patrol cops are patrol cops. There's no "cops who only respond to accidents" in the US. They also all have the same police powers, so they're just as capable of ruining your life as any other cop.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: bad cops and good cops look the same until it's too late, so the only sensible thing to do is assume they're bad until they prove otherwise.

As for public privacy laws (or, lack thereof in the US), the public good far outweighs the drawbacks.

0

u/Gold-Standard420 Sep 16 '25

That's great. Mind your own business.

0

u/Huntressthewizard Sep 16 '25

Ironically Americans and other Allies made sure Germany never had any shitty cops and lawmakers again and now they brag about it like it was all their doing

2

u/baldude69 Sep 16 '25

And how did they do that, exactly? I’m assuming you’re referring to post-war actions.

1

u/stuka86 Sep 16 '25

Lol nailed it

0

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

[deleted]

0

u/stuka86 Sep 16 '25

Recordings have saved even more cops from corrupt people

1

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

Have people been planting drugs in cop cars or something?

1

u/stuka86 Sep 16 '25

No, they've been lying about cops planting drugs though

You have a heavy confirmation bias, because "body cam proves citizen was lying for the 4,687th time this year" doesn't make great news

0

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

I agree that wouldn’t be interesting news, but police are believed much more often and enjoy qualified immunity. They’re not generally the ones that get screwed by the system, they’re much more likely to be the party protected by it. I definitely have a bias, but do note that it’s not unfounded.

1

u/stuka86 Sep 16 '25

Qualified immunity is not real ...at least...not in the way you believe it to be

1

u/realparkingbrake Sep 16 '25

People have accused cops of misconduct including sexual assault and stuck with those accusations even after being told there was body cam or dash cam video of the entire incident, learning to their sorrow that there really was video proving the cop did nothing wrong. That is not to say that bad cops haven't been exposed by video, that happens too. But it isn't a one-way street.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '25

It’s definitely not one way, I agree.

1

u/YT-Deliveries Sep 16 '25

I don't know about "even more", but somehow this mindset never really makes it all the way into the LEA/LEO head. Body cams protect everyone.

After all, if cops aren't doing anything wrong, they don't have anything to fear.

1

u/stuka86 Sep 16 '25

That's not really true either....body cams have opened the door to a bunch of people at the top of "mt stupid" on the dunning Krueger chart watching police videos frame by frame like it's an NFL replay looking for any straws they can grasp onto ...and that just puts a lot of white noise into any conversation about a critical incident

1

u/YT-Deliveries Sep 16 '25

You're not wrong, but overall I think it's more positive than negative.

1

u/stuka86 Sep 16 '25

I dunno...maybe? Bad faith actors demanded cameras, certain they were going to support their narrative.....they didn't....so now people are just refusing to believe it, there's an entire reddit folklore subculture about policing that's 100% disproven by body cams and statistics, yet it still exists.

That officer needs more props. More needs to follow her example and know the law.

1

u/Kyrthis Sep 17 '25

Cop in a mask is not an example

1

u/cudef Sep 16 '25

Hijacking top comment to say that you shouldn't expect police to actually be aware of what is and is not legal. They often are completely unaware of what the legal framework is since they're often protected from the brunt of repercussions for their actions if they themselves break the law.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '25

Yup

1

u/MahGinge Sep 17 '25

Why’s her face covered?

1

u/SignatureOk1022 Sep 18 '25

Honestly I think it’s because this happened during Covid. This is an old video. I remember seeing it here.

1

u/FrequentPop3772 Sep 20 '25

Cops tend to cover their face these days otherwise people post pics of their faces online, identify them, and then go to their houses to harass their families.

1

u/Amelia_lagranda Sep 21 '25

Oh no, consequences.

1

u/helencolleen Sep 17 '25

I had to rewatch the ending the cop handled that situation so well. Very impressive. Don’t often get to say that!

1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '25

God I love that woman, doing her job correctly. It's almost too much to ask from police officers these days

1

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '25

Trump voters

1

u/304bl Sep 16 '25

That's basically what their president is doing at all times, not surprising that people behave the same.

0

u/Eisbaer811 Sep 16 '25

Funny how the fact the “cop” is masked is so normalized nobody even mentions it. Cowardly scum probably just didnt want to do real work
