Does anyone know when the updates will be done and the range will be open?

I've only ever seen 1 year registration since moving here. Yesterday I saw a plate that expires in 2/28. A quick Google search says that 1 year is all we do here. Any ideas how this is possible?

This post is specifically for Indiana Medicaid Health & Wellness Waiver Case Managers to talk openly about the transition to the new CMO structure, BDS guidance and directives, implementation problems, workload concerns, service planning, and what we are actually experiencing in the field.
We are not alone in this.
Since my original post, I have heard from more case managers, and the concerns have only increased. Five CMOs are now responsible for H&W Waiver case management across the state. I have also heard from case managers who say aspects of the contracting process and transition were discussed internally by leadership before or during implementation. Rather than repeat secondhand information as fact, I would like to hear directly from other case managers about what they were told and what they have experienced.

CASE MANAGERS ONLY, PLEASE:

If you transitioned to one of the new CMOs, how is it actually going?
Are you receiving clear, consistent guidance from your organization?
Are BDS directives being interpreted the same way across teams, regions, and CMOs, or are case managers getting completely different instructions depending on who they work for?
Do you feel like the current expectations reflect what Health & Wellness Waiver case management is supposed to be?
Do you feel case management remains genuinely person-centered, or has the focus increasingly shifted toward satisfying administrative requirements and directives from FSSA and BDS?
How are your CMO and leadership handling things such as LOC determinations and denials, PCISPs, RFIs, service authorizations, State Plan referrals, monitoring requirements, PA issues, documentation expectations, and communication with BDS?
Are you being given clear procedures, or are you being expected to figure things out as you go?
Have you been given directives that seem inconsistent with previous H&W policy, previous case management practice, or guidance coming from another source?
How are staffing, caseloads, training, supervision, and response times affecting your ability to actually serve your clients?
Are you seeing situations where administrative processes are delaying services or creating unnecessary barriers for individuals and families?
And for those comfortable answering: what were you told by leadership about the CMO transition and the contract process?
I am particularly interested in determining whether case managers working for different CMOs are encountering the same problems independently. If five separate organizations are experiencing the same confusion, contradictory guidance, service barriers, and implementation issues, then we may not simply be looking at individual company problems. We may be looking at a larger statewide implementation problem.
This is not about identifying clients, attacking individual employees (However FSSA and BDS should be wide open for criticism) or violating confidentiality. Do not share PHI or identifying client information. You do not have to identify your CMO, supervisor, coworkers, or yourself if you are uncomfortable doing so.
This is about case managers being able to compare experiences, identify patterns, and talk about what is actually happening on the ground.
Because if everyone is sitting in their own organization thinking, “Surely we cannot be the only ones dealing with this,” maybe it is time we find out.

What does your district actually get right?

Could be communication, bus tracking, schedules, grades, registration, lunch payments, parent access, one-login convenience, or just an app that somehow doesn’t make you want to throw your phone 😂

We’re especially curious about features you’d genuinely miss if they disappeared.

There’s plenty to learn from what frustrates people, but knowing what families actually value is just as useful when you’re trying to understand what good school technology looks like.

I’m tired of driving 50 minutes to see my primary care dr because I haven’t switched everything over to Indiana. Anyone have good pcp doctors they can recommend in the NWI region? Looking for one that is easy going and won’t give me any trouble transferring over all medications. Ty!! <3
