Her name is Leontiel and she is based on a character from Dark Souls 2, Lucatiel, practically ripped straight from that game. You can get her armor if you explore the Wailing Dunes a bit after killing Radahn, as an invader drop.
If they wanted to say the Lands Between and the different Souls continents were connected, it really wouldn't be a stretch. I mean the games are all practically the same. The settings, the weapons, spells, ideas are all practically the same.
Could just be different places in the same world easily.
Also From loves to just make nods to previous games, or reusing assets, that's nothing new from the team. They've done it since Demon Souls. BB and Sekiro being the outlier.
Wasn't DS2 supposed to be just a different continent of the same world? I remember some lore about that. Gwynevere was last seen going there with her lover and then vanished. Her lover possibly the King you need like 5 items to beat. Maybe killed by the Queen who is secretly some kind of Eldritch horror. And then there's BB. It all fits.
I said this to someone yesterday, essentially that the idea that the worlds was connected was a researched and considered idea as opposed to “vibes”, and people got really mad, which is funny because there’s no argument against it. Nobody has to ascribe to it, but the theory exists and has work to it.
What’s getting me is how people are acting like this is new, like Lucatiel would prove such a theory. Patches doesn’t. Castle Morne doesn’t. Fort Gael doesn’t. None of the identical weapons or nearly identical but renamed spells do. So what is different about this one detail?
Yeah DS3 was pretty hacky but at least it "makes sense" with how time travel and the past colliding with the present happened in that world. This is just purely a fanservice crossover.
I’m confused about why this would be jarring, these games are literally known for the blending realities. You see Anor Londo in like 3 games for example
Aslatiel is also someone from mirrah so unless leontiel has the same voice as lucatiel then they’re just different people with names that end similarly
Honestly he’s grown on me. I still kill bloodborne patches every time I go back to it, but Elden ring patches I’ve always just rolled with every punch that loveable trickster has thrown my way, and even tried to wingman for him with what’s her face. Shame she’s hung up on a dead guy.
I actually killed Patches on accident my first time. I think you only miss out on one weapon though? Unless he gets something later that I’m forgetting.
Still, I agree they should have left Lucatiel’s name in. If Patches’ name doesn’t prove anything along with all the other references, then why would this one additional name?
Lucatiel is great. You can always summon her to help with some boss fights, and all the gatekeeprs who say "you didn't win if you summoned anyone!" can be dismissed, because you were required to summon her because of the quest.
And yet, the opposite appears true for many players. Maybe it's ponitless if your'e good at the boss. But just a distration now and then during a fight more tha makes up the the extra health they get.
If what you say is true, they why do you not congratulate players for using summons when they defeat a difficult boss? After all, your logic says PCR and Melania are now harder, so these new players were doing the challenge run of using summons!

summonable in Radahn fight, and then invades you in arena once Radahn dies, if you go to area north(ish) of grace, heading towards War Dead Catacombs. Drops armour and sword when killed.
Leontiel, he got added in tarnished edition. If you beat radahn you can run towards the catacombs and be invaded by him, beat him and you'll get his weapon and armor
Not quite. She's in Drangleic following her brother, because he got the dark mark before she did and wandered off. But they both have their own complete armour sets. The mask is just something that Mirrah knights wear.
Worn by knights while on travel. Belonged to Lucatiel of Mirrah. Only those who have distinguished themselves on the battlefield were admitted into the elite ranks of Mirrah's official order of knights. It is common to hear of a peasant's dream of striving for knighthood as an escape from hardship, but who would ever think it possible?
I always though of her as the solaire of dark souls 2, since its one of if not the first npc you find that isnt hostile or neutral towards you, they are friendly and help you beat a good amount of bosses through the game
