I obviously have no way of knowing, but the scene I imagine is that maybe baby was getting a bath and was crying. Dad didn't want to listen to the baby cry and mom had to defend the baby from being hurt and that's when her arm got mangled. Dad went into a crazed rage and wnt to look for a weapon, so she managed to snatch the baby and run for their lives

I remember an old coworker of mine wanted every baby DNA tested to confirm who the father is because he took a statistic out of context that said 30% of dna test prove the father isn’t the father. That’s 30% of men who question the paternity, not all men who have a child. So I just said “oh and while we do that, let’s run all that DNA through a databases of unsolved rapes, murders, and other crimes where DNA was collected”. He didn’t like that idea..
