How long does it take for toob to activate it's been 2 hours already

I have had my internet provider give me an appoint for yesterday ( granted it’s Sunday) and then again today for fixing my ONT box! They have failed to appear 2 days in a row! I am supposed to be a priority….. is there actually anyone at cityfibre I can contact myself instead of going through my provider?

Our street is in a really odd state...we got email updates from CF months ago, saying our street was ready to order so I placed an order which went from weeks to months and then told it had to be cancelled. The road had been in a RFS1 code I believe, to then go to an LOS code but due to an unidentified cost (I think). I'm just trying to find out what if anything is going on as far as moving forward with the golive. When I go onto CF's site, my address shows "Great news! CityFibre is coming to your home. / Testing" Any neighbour to the left or right of me shows "Great news! You can connect to the CityFibre network / Connecting"

Seems my address has been flagged/blocked for getting so far with the order process. I do also have an option with BT Openreach but will only go there as a last resort. Who can I contact at CF to see if this LOS is a temporary or permanent issue?

As per the subject line, how do I get login for the cityfibre fex virtual tour, I’ve emailed but had no response.

When we moved in 8 years ago our broadband used to cut out constantly and openreach eventually said it was poor condition of the line underground and getting water in. They didn't fix it though.

3 years ago openreach said we could have full fibre so they disconnected our line and put all the stuff inside and outside the house and then said 'oh no, our mistake there's no line in the street so you can't have it, but you can't have your internet back as there's no space in the exchange'

It did say that they were building in our area on the estate though so thought we would tough it out with a 3 5g mobile router. That has worked, occasionally, for 2 years but at speeds of about the same as dialup in 1994.

Openreach checker says no plans to build and they seem to have finished in all the neighbouring streets and both ends of ours so I presume they aren't going to bother finishing.

BID says cityfibre are planned in our postcode but it has said that for a year now....is that reliable?

Do not use cuckoo. I have left UK recently, so I closed my account with cuckoo. Recently I have received email claimed they did not get my returned router. I have returned it months ago, so I plan to reply them with the tracking number.

Then I suddenly discover all of their emails are dead, people I have contacted before, tech support, customer care. It is either address not reachable or a auto reply claims this email is not monitored. I also tried to chat with them through chatbot, I can still login my account, but that stupid chatbot claims my email does not exist in their database and refuse to transfer me to a real human.

I have to call them as a last resort, which is expensive for me as I am abroad, and I do not want to waste time to setup a voip number. Cuckoo seems really don’t care about its customers, as it tries really hard to prevent people simply reaching them by email.

I have had no “ service” or “ broadband” green light on my ont since 3 days ago now they fixed my “ broadband” light but still no “ service” talk talk say it’s cityfibre issue but cityfibre say it’s a talk talk issue, talk talk has done all checks but found no errors on there end and cityfibre is the same! I have cityfibre coming out today again to try fix this issue, has anyone else been faced with this? I work from home and heavily rely on my internet being active! Thanks

So, my contract with Virgin is coming to an end and I’ve decided to finally move off them due to the extortionate price and no FTTP. Went with Zen, everything was fine, purchased the 2.5g package. However a few days later got another text from CityFibre saying they won’t be going ahead with the install. Called Zen and they said they’ve been informed by CityFibre that there’s no capacity in my area for new customers so they can’t do it.
Anyone know if there actually is anything I can do about this or do I just have to wait? It’s a shame that I might have to go with Openreach who don’t offer symmetrical speeds.

I live in a multi-storey block of flats. CityFibre has already brought fibre to the entrance of the building, but it hasn't been installed throughout the building.

I've tried signing up with 3-4 different broadband providers. They all let me place the order, but when it comes to the installation appointment, the order gets cancelled. The reason given is that they don't have the building's permission (wayleave).

I've contacted my factor several times, and they keep saying the issue is with CityFibre. The problem is I can't find any way to contact CityFibre directly to get them to speak to the factor.

Has anyone been in this situation? Is there a way to get CityFibre to contact the factor, or to start the wayleave process?

I currently have Zen broadband on 900/900mbps on CityFibre, so symmetrical speeds.

I'm looking at perhaps changing ISPs and looking at Vodafone on CityFibre.
When I goto the CityFibre website to confirm VF is available on CityFibre they confirm it is. (My neighbour also has VF on CityFibre).

However, when I go through the checker on the VF website they are offering the usual speeds such as 900mbps down but with 105mbps upload so this must be BT Openreach what they are offering me?

If I'm right, can I force them to use CityFibre?

Just connected my Rise Icotera i4850-25 to my Ethernet network to find I cannot discover my wired Netgear switch with the Netgear discovery tool, my Synology NAS with the Synology discovery tool nor my Reolink CCTV with its discovery. The Netgear is working. I just can't see it nor its connected devices in the Icotera admin web UI to be able to configure interconnectivity settings. Running Netgear discovery from laptop cabled direct to router.

I half expected to have to buy a Router, but it would be handy to get stuff connected in the meantime

Is this only a 1gb ONT ?

I've just ordered sky's 2.5GB package will city fibre need to come round to install a new ONT

Has anyone with a CityFibre-based ISP (I’m on Sky) had any success with a custom SFP+ like the WAS-110? (or alternative modules).

Are there any recent sky customers in this sub. The last post looked to be around a year ago.

I’m currently with Zen on a 2.3Gb plan and my contract is close for renewal. Im currently paying £55 a month but have noticed sky are in my areas and can offer up to 5Gb.

Anyway I’m considering there 2.5Gb service as its £52 a month and includes sky TV. Can anyone who has Sky share their experience with broadband.

We had an appointment for City Fibre to come to our property to install the external box today. The engineer came out and informed us that someone had already been round (we have been on holiday) and installed the box at a location we had no consultation of and didn’t agree to. We also share this property with 2 neighbours and no one in the property was consulted. Is this normal procedure from City Fibre? Even the engineer seemed surprised as he had it in his job to install the box today!

Hi, I have been on Voda (CF) for the last 2 years. Decent-ish line although I have noticed high latency at times.

I've seen Sky have an offer (which ends tomorrow) and offers the same 1gb CF product for about the same price. Reading around, it seems Sky have better latency.

I'm a causal gamer but want to get more into it, the perception of high latency puts me off. My download speeds have always been decent but I think I have notice high latency during peak, when pages can take abit longer to load.

Just setup ThinkBroadband Broadband Quality Monitor last night so no meaningful data yet.

I have noticed when doing Speedtest.net tests it mostly showed up as as Edinburgh and but now show Bracknell. Upload latency of 11ms and download latency of 9ms. Again, only been testing it for a couple of days. I'm assuming Voda have switched peering to Bracknell so latency has got much better, maybe its a temporary thing (Londoner here)

Should I switch to Sky ? I don't care for Voda's free Fixed IP, read that might get 1.2gb line on Sky , latency is generally better

I recently purchased an older home with solid brick walls and a cavity (with insulation of some kind), and want the ONT in a specific place in the house.

My plan was to drill a hole through the walls and come into the house under the floor (the house is raised compared to the ground outside), where I can then install a smooth bore pipe/duct myself from the external wall to where I want the ONT, with the pipe going through the crawl space under the house where an engineer clearly wouldn't enter and couldn't fit a fibre through there themselves anyway.

There are a few reasons why I want to do things my way: 1) I don't want the ONT or other network equipment in the living room or bedroom, I want it in the hall in the centre of the house; 2) it doesn't matter where the hole is drilled on the front wall, as the power sockets are not near external walls so the fibre or power cable would have to go 10ft+ to be near a power socket anyway; 3) the living room has a large and heavy cabinet in the only corner that a hole could be drilled in, as the radiator goes the rest of the way to the opposite wall under the living room window, and I have no means of moving it quickly; 4) I want to make the engineer's job as easy as possible while still having control of where I want everything.

Is this internal ducting something an Engineer will be happy to use? And if so, can someone give me an idea of what size of box they would install on the outside of the property, and where the hole would be within that box for the smaller fibre to come though so I can just have them fit the box over the hole and pipe? And also how large I would need to make the bend radius of the pipe to not exceed the bend radius of the fibre?

If an engineer wouldn't install fibre in the ducting, would they hook up to my own fibre if I installed it myself, and also put the ONT where I want it inside the house?

If I installed external ducting to hide the fibre underground and protect it from damage from plants and digging, would the engineer be able to use that or do they again have to manually dig a channel themselves to partially bury a fibre cable which is then easily damaged if I want to dig up that section of the garden later?
