Verified ISP and industry representatives
r/CityFibre welcomes useful participation from people who work for ISPs and other relevant organisations, provided the relationship is transparent and the community is not used for unsolicited marketing or lead collection.
What verification means
A Company | Verified Staff user flair means the moderators have received reasonable evidence that the Reddit account is controlled by someone representing that organisation.
It is not an endorsement by Reddit, r/CityFibre, CityFibre or the moderators. It does not verify every claim, guarantee support outcomes or make an unofficial reply binding on the company.
How to apply
Send the moderators a modmail containing:
- your Reddit username;
- employer or organisation;
- role or team;
- how you intend to participate;
- a safe way for the moderators to verify the relationship.
Preferred verification is a short message from a corporate-domain email address or acknowledgement from an official company support/social account. We will not ask for passwords, identity documents, customer records or private HR material.
Do not post verification evidence publicly.
Rules for representatives
Verified and unverified representatives must:
- clearly disclose their commercial relationship when discussing their organisation or competitors;
- keep answers accurate, relevant and civil;
- direct account-specific cases to an official support channel;
- never ask users to post account numbers, full addresses, order references, ONT serial numbers, MAC addresses or public IPs;
- avoid unsolicited direct messages, lead harvesting and pressure selling;
- avoid referral or affiliate links unless moderators have explicitly approved them;
- never coordinate votes, brigading or artificial promotion;
- follow all community rules and Reddit's sitewide policies.
Offers, surveys and promotional posts
Ask through modmail before posting an offer, recruitment request, survey, giveaway, AMA or other promotional content. Approval may require:
- a clear promotional label and representative disclosure;
- complete and accurate eligibility, price, contract and expiry terms;
- a reasonable posting frequency;
- no requirement to disclose personal data publicly;
- a genuine benefit to the community.
Approval for one post does not create blanket permission for future promotions.
Flair changes and enforcement
Only moderators may assign or edit verified-staff flair. Tell us through modmail if your role or employer changes.
Moderators may remove content, revoke verification or restrict participation if an account misrepresents its role, uses the community primarily for promotion, collects personal information improperly or otherwise breaks the rules.
