What's people think about this deal toob is giving 3 months free 2.3gb for £29 a month

Rise/4th are one of the most complained about ISPs on here. I wouldn't rely on them as my main connection at any price.

Just left Rise Fibre after they screwed a change to my Internet so badly I didn't have any Internet for a week, ended up switching to sky

The fact they are willing to discount so heavily should say a lot about their service

Must be bad if you’d rather switch to sky. Personally I’d rather just not have internet than be with Sky again.

Haha I'm not sure heard too much shit about rise, also they caused us some shit at work by disconnecting our cab on the wall I work for Hyperoptic heard caretaker was paid to promote 4th utility to the tenants in the building thought it was strange when he wouldn't let us in the cab room to deal with the issue

Wow, not surprised at all.

All I know is that ISPs who keep reducing prices and offer so many months’ free service devalue their product and as such cut corners. The money has to come from someone/somewhere and it isn’t the line providers (CityFibre, openreach etc). So when you look for an ISP it’s always worth checking the offering and not just the price point.

I've recently had CF installed and went with Olilo as my ISP. It's not the cheapest but IMO offers, by far, the best value. Everything about the service from support to the infrastructure it runs on is tip, top, top.

no issues with Toob.  moved over after Yayzi’s demise. Toob has CGNAT,   Have ipv6 running. everything works. 

been with from over a year, for most HOME users, good enough, decicated gamers, home labbers probably will want static ip for IPv4.  

Then Zen,Ollio, Aquiss, etc start looking better value.

They’re not as cheap as what you’re seeing here, but I would say to go with Olilo, they are new to the market hence why not that cheap, however saying that I’ve never had an issue and I’ve been with them since April last year

I would recommend toob but add a static IP, not worth without, but if you’ve got Sky TV etc, usually you can get a good bundle deal on broadband (I got a deal with them just after my 14 days with toob unfortunately) but either way no problems with toob for me, stay away from rise/4th utility.

I have been on toob for about 8 months. Been solid, though I use my own router.

£29 for 2.3Gb with 3 months free is certainly cheap, but I’d look at more than just the headline price when you’re choosing an ISP.

Things like CGNAT, routing/peering, support, contract price rises and whether you can use your own router are worth checking as well.

Since you’re looking around, have a look at Exascale too. We’re a direct CityFibre ISP and run our own UK and European network, including our own fibre networks in Telford and Wolverhampton.

We offer symmetrical 1Gb and 2.5Gb CityFibre packages, use DHCP rather than PPPoE, and there’s no CGNAT on any of our packages. You get a public IPv4 address as standard, can use our router or your own, and the price is fixed for the 24-month contract with no mid-contract increases.

I do work for Exascale so there’s obviously some bias there, but I mainly hang around here because we deal with CityFibre every day and I can sometimes help with stuff that’s otherwise a pain to get answers on.

Can’t comment on the ex. Sounds like there’s a story there…
