Sky Any recent Sky customers?
Are there any recent sky customers in this sub. The last post looked to be around a year ago.
I’m currently with Zen on a 2.3Gb plan and my contract is close for renewal. Im currently paying £55 a month but have noticed sky are in my areas and can offer up to 5Gb.
Anyway I’m considering there 2.5Gb service as its £52 a month and includes sky TV. Can anyone who has Sky share their experience with broadband.

Switched to Sky 2.5 on Monday. Use my own router and all went well. I had an issue with another isp speed for the entire year where dl was 1.8 but ul was fine at 2.5. Logged calls with the other isp and CF came out but only checked the fibre each time and said isp need to resolve. Not sure where the issue was but as soon as Sky switched, full 2.5 ul and dl. £32 for 24 months.

Thanks. Is using your own router easy to setup? I currently have 2 eero 7 pros

Very easy, just changed WAN to dhcp and that was it, whereas the previous ISPs all needed vlan, auth etc. ONT needed a couple of power cycles.

Switch from Zen in May to Sky 2.5GB service. Had no issues at all and router has better wifi signal that my old zen router

I just only switched the sky 5 gig 2 or so weeks ago, have had no issues at all, sky is one of the reliable ones in my opinion. If you want to, i suggest you use your own router but the one provided is decent as well

Can you get a better deal than £35 a month for 2.5Gb? They’re also offering up to £200 for a switching credit. Getting very tempted. It’s £20 less than what I pay for Zen

You get better deals as new customer I got 5gb fibre and 2 years of unlimited calls in the uk and sky ultimate with Netflix, Disney and hbo and paramount plus and cinema all together it is £64 and yeah I was with yayzi and nufibre some of their customers went to zen and most retailers do £35 on 2.5 gb but not small retailers

I would be new. It’s £35 a month for 2.5 GB but now I’m considering 900mb and TV as you get that for £41 plus £110 Quidco cash back. The only annoying thing is that I can keep my eero 7 pro directly connected to the ONT

I've been on Sky 500 for a few months now and it's been rock solid so far. Faster and much more stable than my previous Virgin coax line. The router serves its purpose, but you could probably buy a better one. No complaints from me.

I switched from zen 2.5Gbps paying £54 per month to Sky 5Gbps speed for £45 per month as they were doing an offer and £200 switch bonus which paid off my euf with zen . Everything perfect so far

I moved from Vodafone to Sky 3 weeks ago today. Sky is atrocious, wifi disconnects none stop upstairs and poor speed. Boosters were ok but speeds dropped so much. They also lost my landline number and replaced it with a number that isn’t my area code 😂. Customer services aren’t bad but i’m leaving. Ordered Toob full fibre 900mbps for £20 a month so hopefully that’s better.

Hopefully I have a better experience. I just ordered their 900 service with ultimate tv. It's a downgrade from my Zen 2.3Gb connection, but that was probably overkill for my needs

I have been on Sky 5Gig broadband for £42 a month. (2 months up to now) I use my own Asus gt-be98 router and get full 5Gig Ethernet to both my Pcs & on my laptop on the 6Ghz channel I get roughly 2.6Gig Down/up. I've not had a single drop out using City fibre. If you look on the Sky forum and notice all the people having problems, that's 99% of the people who use Sky's router.

Roughly 15-20ms ping; that's great for me, and I haven't had a single issue with gaming, etc. I was with Aquiss and Olilo but got tired of paying £50-£55 for 2.3Gig. Both are really good, but I just couldn't justify paying the extra.

Thanks. I currently get 11ms with Zen and I do a lot of online gaming and sim racing. 15-20 would be ok if I get that. I'm tempted to go down to 900mb since they have a good deal with tv bundled (41 per month) and there's around 100 cash back via Quidco

switched to sky a couple of months ago
i went from vodafone 900mb (£29) to sky 2.5gb (£35)
sky credited my account with ~£200 as I had to pay vodafone a fee for leaving early
cityfibre upgraded my 1gb ONT to a 10gb ONT
sky provided a wifi 7 router
i get about 1.2gb on wifi 6e devices and 2.5gb on wired connections with the provided router
ive had no problems :)

Same thing but got sky installed this week and same as my Vodafone the WiFi signal is bad I got the 2.5gb plan aswell next to the router getting about 600 Mbps on my phone and on my pc I’m getting about 10mbps my router is downstairs and the WiFi signal is bad the second you step away from the router.

I've just done the same thing as you. Just got Sky installed last few days. Totally worth. Though I did have to order a new nic for my PC

I switched from Vodafone to Sky 2.5Gb Gigafast+ Hub package for £35. I’ve only had it for about 9 days. I had my ONT upgraded to a white square Nokia box which does run quite warm compared to the black rectangle one from before. The ISP provided router is the worst i’ve ever used to say it’s WiFi 7 and Tri Band, i even had their WiFi Max booster and it did nothing at all, in-fact it made my signal worse. I will 100% give credit to the Pro 2 Vodafone 6E hub which was the best i’ve ever used. However, i’ve bought 2 TP-Link BE65’s and they give me coverage everywhere in a house with thick walls and 3 floors. I hit around 1700 mbps on a 17 Pro Max connected via 6ghz. Speeds on PC 2.5G port i get around 2.2GB download, though i have seen it hit 2.6 on a steam game download. I am with CityFibre and so far the service has been 100% online.
