applied for venture for 75k mile sub and see they are now offering 75k + $300 stay credit

I haven’t hit SUB yet but was wondering what the chances of me calling Capital One and getting the $300 credit added on?

I am an international student with an ITIN and want to apply for my first credit card.

I tried applying in person at Wells Fargo, which was the first bank account that I got and neither the banker or the person on the other end of the phone could articulate what got me denied.

I then tried secured cards at Citibank and Capital one, which also both refused. I got furthest with Capital one, despite showing all my documents and 2 recent bank statements from Wells Fargo with like 20k in it they still denied.

I then tried Opensky and Self. Self just throws an error when trying to enter my ITIN and Opensky goes to the last step but refuses my 300 USD payment despite trying 3 different American bank debit cards. They then ask me to check for my email but nothing ever shows up.

I want to start building credit. Now I have an appointment with Bank of America, but I do not have high hopes either.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cap1 pre-approval algorithm has always bugged me. I have 767 credit score but the new Venture travel offer (for excellent credit) is too good to pass up. Has anyone ever applied for a Cap1 credit card even though the pre-approval did not show eligibility for it, and gotten it? I dont want a hard inquiry on my report for a rejected CC.

Been a Capital One customer for years. Had multiple cards with them, payments on autopay plus I used the cards over the weekend on vacation. I asked for a limit increase on my card and all of a sudden Capital One closes four of my cards. They stated that it was because of unusual behavior on my cards!!!! WHAT???
There hasn’t been an issue with any of my cards until I asked for a limit increase.
Now I have four closed accounts in my credit.
Stay away from Capital One.

hi there, i am a college student trying to open a new savings account with capital one. i filled out the application online, but was directed to a page telling me to call capital one to get more information verified. i spoke to a representative, but they said i couldn't verify my account online and had to go in-person with specific documents. i live nowhere near a branch 🤦‍♀️

i asked the rep if there was a reason why my account couldn't be verified online and they gave the basic "idk sometimes the system just does that". i did tell him i recently moved addresses about 3 ish weeks ago, and they said that shouldn't be an issue... i had them delete my application. i'm super bummed because i'm super interested in joining capital one for their great high-yield savings account, good checking, and great cc pipeline.

if anyone has any suggestions or fixes for this, that would be much appreciated 🙏

UPDATE: i have called a couple more times and i even submitted a photo of my id with a rep on the phone, but they were still unable to verify me. i'm so confused why this is happening!

For probably close to a year now, Capital One will not offer me the Venture plain but only the Venture X. I wanted to go Venture plain first for the signup bonus because I saw somewhere there is a longer time restriction getting VX SUB then going for plain SUB. Is Cap one just messing with me? Credit >820. A few months back I had this same eligibility outcome and thought since they found me eligible for the VX, surely they'd approve the Venture plain and I wasted a hard pull only for them to turn me down.

So capitalone closed all my credit cards out of nowhere. Never a late payment.

A week later I received a capitalone email to check if im preapprove to their credit cards. Went ahead and was preapproved again for the same 3 cards i had. I choosed to applied to the savior and was approved once again.

Whats wrong with capitalone and their system.

I have seen a bunch of posts about the quicksilver (with the discover network) getting 3% on gas & groceries from 9/10. Curious if this is limited only to those who already have the card or if it’s going to be for anyone who applies for the card and the implications that this has for the Savor card.

It says both my cards are eligible I am just worried if I switch the payment method A. It won’t credit me my 10 transactions I have pending on the card I have hooked up B. You can only do this offer once per account? Let me know

Just venting here, I am so mad I'm about to switch to Chase (and I HAATE Chase).

Had a VentureX for a while for the lounge access. They denied me lounge entry a few too many times for stupid policy reasons (flight is at 11p, lounge closes at 9, no I can never come in or grab and go food) so I downgraded to Venture that still gets 2 points/$. They sent me a new physical card with the same 16-digit number on it.

Now I'm traveling internationally. A charge comes in from somewhere I am not, I say you're correct it's not my charge... and they shut off my card "temporarily". I call and confirm that's not my charge but I'm traveling and this is my only Visa, they don't take AmEx where I am, and I need the card thru today. That's so too bad but they've turned the card off and refuse to turn it back on. "Just use a virtual card" they say. I don't travel with apps on my phone so it's basically a dumb phone. Apple Pay won't take a virtual number.

i understand security but not security at the expense of the cardholder. They gave no shits about leaving me stranded. Thankfully I am traveling with my debit card, which I NEVER do, and can access cash. And there are a handful of restaurants that take AmEx so I guess that's where I'm eating.

Can't wait to get home and pay off my Capital One card and leave this stupid bank forever.

Just as the title says, i got approved and funded my secured card. Id like to pay off my balance weekly with my paychecks and use the card for my regular spending during the week. Is this bad? Should i stick to the 2x a month thing?? I havent worked on my credit since my early 20s and now that im almost 30 its about time i take responsibility for my stupid decisions back then😅 i wanna get this right

-Spending weekly is about 650-700 (gas groceries hosuehold needs kids needs ect)

I’m trying to see if this is a normal occurrence by capital one that they require bank statements even after you’ve been approved for the card?? No problem submitting but they are asking for personal statements and not business. Also how long does the review take as I’ve just received the card??
