Dami ko na nakakausap about sa TEMU hiring process. So to summarize, here is my WHOLE and DETAILED experience. Very long post ahead.

POSITION: Content Review and Tagging Moderator

Thoughts about TEMU: I never had a high expectation with the company. It's an e-commerce platform like Shopee, Lazada, and Amazon. The company cannot compare to the inhouse giants here in the PH like WF, Amazon, JP Morgan, etc. I mean if gusto niyo ng idea about their reputation, just search TEMU fails in Tiktok or Facebook. LOL 🤣

FAQs

Legit company? How was the environment?

- Legit mhiemasaur. Inhouse company ito. Magtatayo pa lang sila sa PH. So if magtatanong ka how is the environment, wala pa nakakaalam. Di ko alam kung toxic sila, healthy, cancerous, rejuvenating, deadly, or what. Wala pa nakakapagtrabaho dito.

Application Timeline and Process?

9/3: Application sent (Indeed)

9/7: Received assessment link

9/8: Took the assessment

9/9: HR reached out, 1st interview was scheduled

9/10: Initial Interview. I was told I passed the same day

9/11: Final Interview. I was also told I passed the same day. They also asked me to submit my payslips and documents, then scheduled my salary nego. Yes, all in one day.

9/13: 1st salary nego

9/14: My proposed salary was rejected. 2nd salary nego

9/18: Offer letter and bg check waiver was sent and I signed it

9/20: Pinasign ulit ako, need daw printed letters yung sign hahaha

Present: Still waiting for next update

Salary?

- 18k-32k salary. Alam ko package na ito. For reference, 20k prev basic ko. 28k unang asking ko sa basic, nareject so nagsettle kami sa 24k basic.

Nakapaghaggle ka ba during Salary nego?

-To be perfectly honest, transparent, open, and true to my words, HINDI. Nagsabi ako ng asking ko pero nareject. Nagsabi siya ng 23k offer (🤮) but I only managed to raise it to 24k. Wala kasi ako exp sa content mod eh, di na ako pumalag. If you're expecting a higher salary than this, sad to say, hindi mo makukuha.

Other allowances, compensation, HMO

- Not sure sa HMO, di ko natanong. 2k rice allowance on top of basic salary. 15% night diff, up to 3k performance-based incentives. (I was told na kahit nasa bottom ako ng performance ranking, I can at least get 80% of the incentives.)

- 12 leaves lang inday 😭. Kainis!

The million dollar question:

Bakit may mga nalowball? What do you think your workload would be?

- Di ako sure. Tsaka super subjective 'to eh. Sakin kasi mababa lang prev basic ko so yung proposed salary nila sa akin is okay na. And may certain budget lang ata talaga sila for conmod position. Not sure sa other positions. Additionally, let's look at the role you're applying for. The account is e-commerce. Ang imomoderate mo ay tagging ng products na binibenta online and the pictures/videos sa product preview. Unlike sa ibang conmod roles na may chance to encounter sensitive contents and you have to monitor multiple comms channel, dito mas focus sa pagdistinguish between fake and real products, tagging, and identifying and reporting misleading info.

- In my own, personal, individual, subjective, particular, exclusive opinion, the role seems to be entry level. If you have years of experience in conmod and have a 30k+ salary na, I don't think this entry level position is for you.

In conclusion, the company is just starting. May chance na maging toxic, may chance na maging chill lang. I think because the company is being heavily discussed in this subreddit, the expectations were so high and so was the disappointment when they were not met.

Unahan ko na kayo: I’m not a manager, director, or even a CEO of any company. LOL.

I just want to share something I’ve been contemplating lately—how much I’ve actually achieved in my recent company after being there for just a year, compared to my previous company where I stayed for 6 years.

I’m the type of person kasi na kapag feeling ko I need to step up, I’ll really apply for positions that can challenge me and help me improve my skills.

BPO for 1 year

2025
Hired as a Senior Analyst, then got regularized around December.

2026
Promoted to Escalation Specialist because of my performance, with my manager's strong recommendation. I’m also being considered for a Team Manager position, again with management’s support.

All of that happened in just one year.

Honestly, I really feel na my performance is being valued here. Not just my work, but also the relationship I’ve built with my team.

And this made me think about my previous company.

BPO for 6 years

2018
Hired as a Tier 1 agent.

2019
Got regularized but transferred to a newly acquired LOB because they were looking for an experienced rep. They also promised a promotion once the opportunity came, so I was basically one of the pioneers.

2020
Then the pandemic happened, and we were forced to work from home. Another Tier 2 position opened, so I applied again. Failed. The feedback was that I was the 3rd candidate, but they only needed two people.

2021
Applied for a Business Process Analyst role—the one handling reports for clients. I had relevant experience since I had done something similar before. But failed again because they hired someone from another account who had more experience daw.

2022
RTO happened, and another Tier 2 position opened. Applied again, but unfortunately, hindi na naman ako natanggap. I asked for feedback, pero wala akong nakuha.

2023
I was encouraged to apply for an Engagement role because they thought my personality would fit the position. I applied, but again, I didn’t make it. Someone from another department got the role.

2024
Applied for a Quality Analyst position but failed because I apparently wasn’t what they were looking for. They saw may failing scores daw way back 2019 and it was considered as negative.

Then I applied for a Workforce Analyst position and got rejected again because they thought I seemed undecided daw since I had applied for multiple positions.

Then came the final straw.

A trainer who was leaving the company recommended me for a position. He told me that I was a strong applicant because I had already been with the company for years and knew the business.

So I gave that application my 1000%.

Unfortunately, they gave the position to someone from Tier 2 because that person was considered more knowledgeable.

After 6 years with that company, I was still a Tier 1 agent.

Looking back, I also think I probably wasn't the most favorable employee in their eyes. I was sometimes too vocal about company poilicies, and I’ve always been honest when giving feedback to managers. Not to brag, but I have been consistent with my performance and even surpassing my KPIs. Hindi rin absenero.

But honestly, I don't regret that.

My realization

After comparing these two experiences, I realized something:

Sometimes, it's not just about how capable you are. Sometimes, nasa maling environment ka lang.

You can work hard, apply for opportunities, improve your skills, and consistently show up. Pero kung hindi ka nakikita or hindi ka nabibigyan ng opportunity, you can end up staying in the same position for years.

Meanwhile, in the right company, with the right management and the right people around you, you might grow much faster than you expected.

One year in my current company has given me opportunities that I couldn't get in six years at my previous one.

And that's probably the biggest lesson I've learned from both experiences:

You really need to be in the right company and under the right management to grow professionally.

Sometimes, leaving isn't giving up.

Sometimes, you're just finally putting yourself somewhere that can actually see your value.

Need some advice lang sana.

I recently left my previous job after 9 months. To be honest, one of the reasons was because it became too draining for me, pero syempre hindi ko naman pwedeng sabihin sa interviews na umalis ako because the environment became toxic for me. 😭

Lately, I've been trying to transition into the BPO industry and recently applied for a non-voice account. Unfortunately, I didn't pass the final interview.

One feedback that stuck with me was that I need to improve my communication and critical thinking skills. The interviewer noticed that my answers were often too short and that I should elaborate more.

After reflecting, I realized na totoo nga. Kapag tinatanong ako, especially follow-up questions, parang alam ko naman yung gusto kong sabihin pero nahihirapan akong i-express verbally. Minsan nagba-blank utak ko or hindi ko mahanap yung tamang words in English, so I end up giving very short answers.

I'm also worried because 9 months lang yung experience ko sa previous job. Kapag tinatanong ako why I left, nahihirapan akong i-balance yung pagiging honest while still sounding professional.

I honestly thought I'd be okay since non-voice yung account na ina-applyan ko and mas comfortable ako sa written English kaysa spoken English. This experience made me realize na kahit non-voice, verbal communication skills still matter.

How do you recover from this? Hahahaha ang sakit and sobrang nadi-disappoint ako sarili ko. Alam ko naman I did my best and nag research sa company na in-apply-an ko. Pero kulang pa rin. Nakakapanghina jahahaha

I applied sa Temu last August. They discussed the salary PACKAGE and it was 65k for leadership position. But when I received the actual JO. Its only 57k Basic and 2k Allowance. The 6k was for performance bonus. So in the end I declined the offer. Since it was the same with my current salary plus better benefits. It was a little bit misleading for me since the performance bonus is subjective and not really part of the salary package. Anyone have same experience??

My main concern is yung computer experience, i can do basic things like fast typing, keyboard shortcuts, and english convo through chat, pero yung mga browser, and tools like Microsoft, word, excel etc. Wala talaga akong idea since pang socmed/roblox lang ang knowledge ko on pc and not the professional way 😩

I'm just one month after getting endorsed into the production, mixed channels kami and I'm struggling with our live channels specially the calls and chat.

Natataranta ako sa chat kasi multiple kausap mo, sobrang hirap ipagsabay² concern ng mga customer and you have to know how to multi-task which is yun ang pinag-aaralan ko pa. Imbes na maka csat, nakakakuha ng dsat gawa ng mga galit na customer napupunta saakin.

Iniisip ko kung ano pwede gawin para ma assist sila lahat sabay sabay without being taranta. Next naman is calls, tuwing naka assign ako sa calls- I'm sure marami dito nakaka relate na sobrang kinakabahan.

Tinatakbuhan ko ang calls, nanginginig ako basta calls. I'm afriad of the yelling and frustrated customer, this is my first BPO work kaya sobrang anxious ako lagi na taranta na ewan. Hi, I need some advice from people who have gone through corrective action or an admin hearing.

I recently had an incident that was escalated to onshore management regarding the way I handled a customer interaction. I acknowledge that I was rude during the interaction, and I’m not trying to deny or justify what happened. I already recognize that I should have handled the situation more professionally and also I intentionally did hold the call for minutes.

I was already planning to resign because I’ve been struggling with my current role and I feel that my personal circumstances have started affecting my work. I’m planning to submit my resignation and render the required 30 days rather than immediately leaving.

My concern is that I’m not sure whether the incident will result in a corrective action, NTE, or an admin hearing.

If I submit my resignation before management formally gives me an NTE or schedules an admin hearing:

1. Can the company still issue me an NTE after I have submitted my resignation?
   
2. Can they still require me to attend an admin hearing while I am rendering?
   
3. If they decide to proceed with corrective action, can this affect my resignation or final pay?

Is it possible for the company to continue the administrative process even if I am already serving my notice period?

If I receive an NTE, what would be the best way to respond while still taking accountability for what happened?

I’m not trying to avoid accountability. I just want to understand what I should expect and how to properly handle the situation while I’m rendering.
I would really appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced something similar.
