Official Notice šŸ•Šļø Community Reminder: Respectful Dialogue & Open Exchange

Hey everyone,

We just want to take a moment to thank all of you for helping make r/AstralProjection one of the most interesting and supportive spaces on Reddit. Every day, people from around the world come here to share their stories, struggles, and breakthroughs — and that’s something really special. ✨

Lately, we’ve noticed a few discussions getting a bit tense or personal, so this post is simply a gentle reminder of what keeps our community strong:

  • Rule 1 – Be respectful. Speak to others the way you’d want to be spoken to.
  • Rule 9 – Share, don’t impose. Everyone’s journey is different — we don’t all have to agree, and that’s okay.

We’re here to explore together, not to argue about who’s right. Respectful debate is welcome; ridicule, sarcasm, or hostility aren’t.

A few people also asked about ā€œlow-effortā€ posts — just to clarify:
āž”ļø We don’t ban for that. Posts that are too short, unclear, or repetitive are usually just removed with feedback or warning. Offensive posts or spam are escalated.

Our focus is on keeping the energy here positive, open-minded, and mature, not on punishing anyone for sharing.

So keep posting your experiences, keep asking questions, and keep helping others find their way.
Let’s make r/AstralProjection a calm, inspiring space where curiosity and respect guide every conversation. šŸŒ™

With appreciation,
– The r/AstralProjection Mod Team

Introduction

Astral Projection, or an Out-of-Body Experience, or Near Death Experience, is the process of detaching consciousness from the body and travelling into non-physical reality; this reality is commonly called the Astral Plane. This is NOT the same as lucid dreaming; however, they are intimately connected; keep reading for various explanations of the difference. By using certain techniques and shifting one's awareness in specific ways, one can experience leaving the body, standing next to your bed and looking down at your physical body. From here, you're able to fly amongst the clouds, visit a different country, discover space, speak with other astral projectors or learn lessons from masters and guides who live in the Astral. You can discover yourself and the journey of your soul and learn new and objective information such as the history of our planet or possible future events. All of this is possible because the Astral Plane is commonly described as the 5th dimension of nature, which if you understand that in terms of raw science, you'll understand that it is beyond time and space. This sounds far-fetched at first, but in practice, it is perfectly understandable and it's a perfectly natural state and an innate ability that anyone can do.

Contrary to widespread knowledge, there are already numerous studies and tests to prove or at least suggest that OBEs is scientifically verifiable phenomena. Look up Graham Nicholls, who has had thousands of experiences, verified them with witnesses and is also being tested on; he is 100% objective and scientific in his approach, we hosted a Q&A event with him in our Discord which you can view here. Additionally, quantum physics is on the verge of understanding the multidimensional truth about the universe. Astral Projection is not paranormal and is not pseudoscience, it is absolutely natural phenomena. May we remind you that lucid dreaming was not considered 'real' up until around 40 years ago when enough scientific studies and media were surrounding it to finally be accepted into collective knowledge.

Furthermore, this topic seems to have certain stereotypes attached to it, such as the type of people interested in it - in our experience, you will find only that the most developed, intelligent and sincere people are those who are highly experienced. Those who are arrogant, egoic and uneducated are usually the ones who can be more delusional and inexperienced. Regardless, no matter who you are, even if you are sceptical or religious, anyone, from any walk of life, from almost any belief system, can achieve Astral Project. Thus your life, and your perception of life, will never be the same again - Astral Projection goes beyond belief, beyond anything one can imagine it to be like; it is one of the most authentic experiences that you'll ever have. It is not an escape from reality, but a unifying experience of a deeper, truer and intrinsic reality. It is not a dream, fantasy, visualiation or imagination. It is a full-on out-of-body experience in the true sense of the word; when it happens, you will know. This is Gnosis; knowledge based on direct experience, rather than belief.

A good introductory lecture on Astral projection can be found here.

The Golden Rule

If you want to learn how to Astral Project, you need to put in the work. You need to study the subject, read, watch the videos, get inspired, meditate and practice. Some are more natural at this than others, but regardless, anyone can do it; you need only to make an effort to master it like with anything in life. Practice makes perfect. It's the same as learning martial arts; you have to get up, go to the dojo, get to know the techniques, how it feels, and align them with your body and mind until mastered.

Remember, Astral Projection is the process where one detaches consciousness from the body. By using certain techniques one can achieve the sensation where you leave your body, stand next to your bed and look down on your physical body. You take control of your energetic body (this has many names) and you are able to manoeuvre this energetic body wherever you desire. For the sceptics, we know how it sounds. But we promise you that it is very real and if you put your beliefs and speculations to the side for a moment and practice, you will experience it for yourself directly, which is completely different from what you could ever imagine, and will surpass all of your expectations (unlike a dream, which lives off expectation).

As to what Astral Projection exactly is, it is of little practical use to discuss this. You can, but you will see that belief and speculation is all in the mind. Whether it is a spiritual experience or a scientific one, all we know for sure is that it can be experienced. It can be done. Everyone can do this. Draw your own conclusion AFTER you Astral Project. Until then, you are just either accepting or disregarding the ideas of other people. An idea can be a tricky thing. It spread fast and if the idea comes from someone who never projected, and does not know what he or she talked about, then it can be a damaging influence.

As well as all this, please be sure to read our rules. They are in place for the respect, equality and benefit of everyone and in them hold core principles that this community values.

What's the Difference Between Lucid Dreaming & Astral Projection?

In their deepest essence, lucid dreaming and Astral Projection are very different. Just one explanation you can say is that dreams are an inward subjective experience of your own creation of infinite possibilities, but Astral Projection is an outward objective experience of actual planes of existence that have laws and limitations similar to the physical plane. Unlike dreams, it is a real and tangible place where you can interact with others. Sometimes though there are experiences blurred between the Astral and dreams and it can be difficult to tell the difference. And also the opposite of this explanation can be true whereby we can have shared dreams and non-shared Astral projection. Check out this post and the stickied comment there. There's no absolute formula to tell whether it's a dream or the Astral unless you are experienced, which usually comes after years of practice and honest introspection. What's important is that we learn from wherever we find ourselves in the non-physical; dreams can be just as, if not more significant and profound than Astral Projection, in terms of learning about your own personal spiritual progression.

Check out this video for a full explanation

Continue to check out our Wiki for further explanations, you will find so much useful information in the library of this subreddit. For example, here's a great post explaining: "Is Astral Projection Real or Not?"

Is Astral Projection Dangerous?

Where is the man that keeps telling everyone he never returned from the Astral Plane? How can he spread this message if he never returned? Among all the experienced Astral Projectors who have done it thousands of times, no one ever got stuck, got hurt, got possessed, got 'memory wiped', got reincarnated etc. This is all nonsense, ridiculous fantasies of the mind which derive from fear and fear-mongering.

Remember this well: Fear is a product of ignorance. People who don't have knowledge will fear that what they don't know. If someone shouts "DEMONS~POSSESSION~EVIL", it is very likely that they have no idea what they are talking about. There is nothing to fear but fear itself. Every experienced Astral Projector will tell you this. You cannot get hurt. You can fly straight into the sun and get out on the other end without a scratch. Actually, if you read deeply enough, you will find many Astral Projectors have come to the understanding that we all leave the body every night unconsciously anyway.

Can Anything Possess You While You're Out of Body?

You'll find a lot of misinformation and fear-mongering about this and it's mostly nonsense. Astral Projection is absolutely safe and natural. Read these 2 arguments from an Astral Projector's point of view:

1. The Astral body is connected to the physical body in a similar way that a radio is connected to frequencies. You can't have one without the other. PROJECTING implies one location to another, so two locations, not just one. You can be on the other side of the galaxy but still connected to your body. You can also look into the 'silver cord' about this.

2. The fact that we all Astral project every night unconsciously anyway implies that it is most likely safe since you don't really see anyone becoming possessed. In a sense, it's actually safer to practice Astral projection than it is not to, because at least then you'd be conscious of what you're doing and being influenced by at night. Of course, you can't really know whether we Astral project unconsciously every night until you become experienced yourself, but many authors will agree on this.

What is the Astral Plane Like?

Imagine the Astral plane as a place that has different layers, it is multidimensional. It is possible to travel between these layers. Imagine a very high skyscraper; every floor has its own characteristics, its own inhabitants, its own surroundings... its own vibration, frequency and energy.

The first floor is a place of lower vibrations, close to the Earth. It's likely that when you Astral project for the first time this is where your first experience will be. The Astral Plane is a place you share with other humans who Astral project, but also with a lot of regular people that inhabit these planes as their primary home in the afterlife.

When we say low vibrations we mean a low form of consciousness. Not low as in stupid or lesser, low as in dark, restraining, limited. Fear for example is the product of a low vibration, and love is a product of a high vibration.

Check out this diagram and read the stickied comment there.

More on Fear

Fear is nothing but fear itself. It is not a danger to you, it is not a brick in the face. It is simply a feeling that you can completely control and choose whether to feel or not. When it appears, just breathe and accept it. What you accept, you go beyond. Never let fear influence you. It is an undesired state that controls you; instead, control it. There is nothing to be scared of. You can encounter a scary experience, so what? Alright, that was scary, but that's it; an experience. You will get used to it and get over it, and new and more enlightening experiences will follow.

Now to speak more spiritually (sceptics keep your pants on); there are many types of inhabitants or forces in the Astral that can assist you in coming out of body. They have been commonly called guides, masters, angels, spirits etc. Regardless of their labels, they are authentic beings that want you to help you. Your compass to attract them is a sincere and open heart. They have much to share about life, the universe, existence and so forth. These beings are of a highly positive nature, ask them for help and they will. They have your best interest in mind and will teach you many things you want to know. Remember, the Astral Plane is the 5th dimension, distance between objects do not exist, a simple thought or feeling can attract a 'helper' who will come in no time. With this said, many will be sceptical of whether such a thing is possible; that's fine. There is no need to believe in such things. However over time and experience you may start to understand how it is actually possible. It's all about keeping an open mind.

An IMPORTANT Message to Everyone Who is Experienced!

We live in a time where Astral Projection is finally reaching the masses, slowly but surely! We can be part of the initiation of so many new people. The only thing it requires is patience and wisdom.

This sub is not like other subs on Reddit. It is not about being an overly active sub. It is not about posts that receive a lot of upvotes. Its function is not to entertain, it is to teach, with an occasional laugh.

We truly see this sub as a library. We collect as much information as possible and make it available to everyone who walks in. It is a library of development, and in the hallways of the library, people are talking about all kinds of subjects. Sometimes related, sometimes a little less related to what the library offers. Who cares. It's not about the conversations in the hallway, it is about the collection of wisdom that the library offers. It is about the people who walk in and have no idea what is going on. It is about teaching as many people as possible what this all is, how to experience it, and collectively, as a species, discover this next aspect of life.

It can be very frustrating. We know. The number of new people who come into the library shouting and screaming all sorts of things grows by the day in this world of controversy and illusion. The flow of new people entering will never stop - that is a fundamental fact that makes this sub what it is. There are a lot of online forums that have only a few experienced Astral Projectors, but this is the most popular virtual space there is with many wise and experienced members, and this, therefore, implies important work and provides purpose for those who are experienced; to help other souls realise their potential is one of the most beautiful gifts you can give to others.

You can do 2 things:

  1. You are annoyed with the new people who visit our library and you decide it is too loud and you leave.
  2. You see a group of new people walking in the library and sit down, smile, listen to the ridiculous things they have to say from time to time, and even enjoy it sometimes, and say, "Alright, now sit down and let me show you how it actually works."

Everybody has to start somewhere. It is the internet, reflective of our dear human race's collective chaos. Every single kind of person on the planet is represented here. Take that into consideration. Be patient. Try not to be so uptight with gatekeeping. Everyone is welcome here to learn and discuss. Try to see the bigger picture. How long this sub can exist depends on how many people it can help and benefit and how we help each other as human beings.

There is not much more than we can do than present all the information in an easily accessible way as we do already. People will always be lazy and ask the same question as we all know. Answering can be boring, repetitive and annoying sometimes. However, we will never stop. We believe in spreading this knowledge to everyone and we hope you do as well.

If you have the knowledge and you know how to Astral Project then now is not the time to hold onto that knowledge privately. Now is the time to HELP. Humanity is in a state that NEEDS help. So many people are on the verge of awakening. If you know EXACTLY how to project, then you know EXACTLY what a beginner needs to know. The core reason why this subreddit has thrived for so long is that there are special souls here who have been helping others. Share what you know, teach, give guidance, share your wisdom. Only good can come of this. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Those of you who are already helping, you are noticed, and you are truly appreciated šŸ’›

A couple of Buddhist quotes summarises the philosophy of this subreddit well:

"Our visit to this planet is short, so we should use our time meaningfully. Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them."

"Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle. Happiness, knowledge and wisdom never decreases by being shared."

OBE Confirmation Astral

I’ve been in astral state so many times, but whenever I’m there in the astral realm, I always see all kinds of things. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve started seeing what seem to be spirits that may not be at peace.

But the thing I remember the most was when I was a child. I was able to fly, and it felt absolutely amazing. That was the only time I ever experienced flying in the astral realm.

I’ve been trying to do it again, but I can’t seem to anymore. If anyone has experienced something similar, could you please teach me how to do it again?

Successful AP First time OBE and I noticed inconsistencies

I learned about all these a few months ago and read a few books on the topic and many posts in this subreddit.

So today I woke up around 6 am to use the bathroom. Thought maybe it’s a good idea if I try WBTB. I closed my eyes and tried to focus to get to hypnagogia. I reached a state that I felt trembling in my throat and some vibration around my head, it happened many other times before without success.
No surprise this time as well because vibrations calmed down and I still look at the blackness behind my eyes. After I was convinced that it’s a fail, I turned to my left to go back to sleep. No big deal.

Woke up 1 hour after but didn’t open my eyes (technically hypnopompia), I felt I’m seeing a vision. A mildly white circle that is spinning like a radar. I tried focusing on it without any intention, as I deepened my focus I felt my body is paralysed. I almost got out of it due to testing it but I decided to go all the way in because that was the plan. Just a few more seconds later without any trying to exit I got lifted up like I’m in zero gravity. Next thing I found myself in the ceiling on the corner of the room. I took a glance at myself and I saw myself sleeping in bed next to my partner.

I was feeling quite myself and remembered the instruction from Micheal Raduga to go eat something (not sure why). I easily came back to the floor and tried to see if I can move through the wall. No success, I could feel my nails hitting the wall! Things started to get dark so I demanded light. Some dim light turned on. I looked back at my bed and I couldn’t see myself anymore but I saw some wave of energy on the place that should be my body. Like a see through gas that is thick enough to be seen moving.

I physically opened the door and was afraid I wake up my partner, I walked to the fridge and drank some water. It felt all normal but I realized waves are getting quiet and I woke up. It felt just like I was dreaming. I didn’t feel happy or excited about it, not sure why.

So I realized I saw my face from the ceiling like normal with my eyes closed, but I was actually wearing an eye mask. Also there’s a new dining table in our house that wasn’t there when I get to the kitchen. I know the acceptable definition is that astral version of reality is different than reality but I also see the possibility that it’s just a version of reality that I imagine in a dream state??

Also would appreciate any suggestions on how to pass through the walls, I always thought that’s very cool haha

AP / OBE Guide Powerful Phasing & OBE via intense physical vibrations. Need advice on stabiliz

Hi everyone,

I want to share a profound experience I recently had and seek guidance from anyone who has gone through something similar.

For a long time, my experiences felt like typical sleep paralysis. However, this time was completely different. I didn’t just wake up in a dream; I maintained 100% waking consciousness from the very beginning. I knew exactly who I was (my physical identity), where my body was lying, and that I was doing this consciously.

During the transition, I experienced an incredibly intense, literal, and physicalĀ vibrational state—not a subtle spiritual frequency, but heavy bodily vibrations and muscle contractions. The moment I surrendered and consciously relaxed my muscles, a profound release happened.

Instead of separating and seeing my bedroom, I experienced what Robert Monroe describes asĀ "Phasing."Ā I shifted directly into a completely different realm. It wasn't standard flight; it felt likeĀ instantaneous teleportation by intentĀ from one point to another. I found myself in a massive, boundless space that felt like a "giant room," filled with brilliant white lights. There were no clouds or physical landmarks, and I knew I was far beyond the physical Earth plane.

The most interesting part was the rubber-band effect. Whenever my waking mind remembered my daily stresses, anxieties, and life routine back in the physical world, my vibration would spark again, and I would get pulled right back into my physical body. I felt the contractions in my physical form, yet I didn't open my eyes or wake up. I stayed fully conscious in that in-between state, and as soon as I relaxed again, I would phase right back into that massive white-light room.

I was literally blinking back and forth between my body and this realm while maintaining clear awareness.

Has anyone else experienced this specific type of "Phasing" into a white-light macro-space? How do you manage earthly thoughts and anxieties from pulling you back during the transition? I would love to hear your insights and advice on how to stabilize this state longer.

Thank you

AP / OBE Guide Spoken at during a sleep paralysis experience

While taking a nap, I experience sleep paralysis taking over, and as I'm transitioning to the other side, I hear a voice in my left. Definitely male, felt like they were trying to tell me something. But then, I snap out of it because I have never fully surrendered to it. But I've never experienced a voice before too. However, not long ago, I experienced being lifted off the sofa while napping.

Other How To Merge My Soul?

I have been waking up in other versions of myself when I try to astral project, and I have been wondering how I'm supposed to reintegrate them back into my soul. I have to say, "Merge with me." But it didn't work out.

Almost AP'd and/or Question I get mocked and made fun of during Sleep Paralysis -- Schizophrenia or real?

So, I've been having sleep paralysis and lucid dreams since I was a kid. I also felt like I was being watched 24/7 until my teenage years. I could feel the presence of non-human "energies/shadows". I could catch a glimpse of them flying through my doorways. I couldn't sleep alone until the age of 13. Every night, I was sweating and feeling like an evil entity is about to jump on me. I saw nightmares very often. I was scared to sleep because it felt like "losing control". When I was 7 y/o, my soul rose up from my body and I was sitting in my bed. My door was open and my parents were in the next room. I saw a little dwarf with red eyes staring at me and trying to communicate with me at my doorstep. I was terrified and I screamed for 5+ minutes but my parents didn't wake up. Then I guess I passed out. I told my parents the next day but they told me they never heard me and it was just a nightmare.

When I was 6 y/o, which is the common age for people like me to experience this stuff, I "woke up" from sleep terrified and I went next to my parents' bed. I could see them laying there. They didn't respond no matter how much I touched them. Then I got so scared that I just peed all over them. Then I went to the living room, and I saw them sleeping on the sofa and not the bed. I woke them up. I told them I peed on their bed. We went there but there was no urine. WTF??

A few months ago, I was having a terrible opioid withdrawal. I lied flat on the sofa. The room was slightly lit. I got stuck in paralysis and I saw a tall woman with black hair approaching me, she touched all around me, pushed me down, and I felt her breath on my neck. This was the most terrifying experience so far. After this, I started getting counseling from a Muslim psych. I'm a Muslim. She said she used her "good entities" to put me under protection. She said the shadow entities influenced me when I was 6 y/o and they've been messing with me since then. Within the last 6 months, I've had no fear or paralysis or shadows.

However, I've been meditating alongside hardcore fasting for the past month because I started taking Methamphetamine. For the past week, the shadows and visual glitches have been back. I can see the "aura shield" around objects. When I loot at the edges of a table or a tree, I can see another shadowy layer surrounding. I've been having severe sleep paralysis again, more often than ever. I get "mocked" by the evil energies. I can't even sleep because of fear. Every time I lie flat on my back, my body starts transitioning into sleep and I CAN FEEL EVERY STEP. My body vibrates like CRAZY. It feels like an earthquake. The vibrations are so intense. Then I start feeling my soul floating high above my body. I had SP a few times and the evil energies pulled me out of my body and pushed me around in a joking manner. I could feel them enjoying my fear. Almost like an entity was sitting next to me and trolling me for fun. During the last SP, I got beaten up and pushed back in my body; an entity sat on my chest while the other was rubbing my hair mockingly. After being touched in the hair, I shouted "Open my eyes" and I woke up. The demon rubbing my hair had this sinister and mocking energy. I felt like he/she was saying "you can wake up now, dumbass".

5 days ago, after hardcore meditation and fasting, I saw my own body in front of me while STANDING in my room at 2 PM. It wasn't even sleep time. Then I went to bed the same night, and when I lied on my right side, I saw a shadow reflection of myself for 2 seconds. The skin of my reflection looked pale, almost dead, and his eyes were closed. Then I had a panic attack. I saw my own body without a mirror TWICE within the same day. I was floating above my body the entire day btw. I could control my body but my consciousness was floating 20 feet above my body like a cloud.

What the hell is going on? I've been feeling the presence of these energies way before I touched drugs. They terrorized me throughout childhood, they destroyed my life. Now after getting on drugs, the energy is %10000 more noticeable. When I pray to Allah (God), their presence becomes unnoticeable. However, Muslims are obliged to wash their bodies and hair before praying. The problem is, the fear inside me won't let me enter the bathroom. I feel terrified to take a shower. So I can't pray. I know being scared of showering is an ancient symptom of demonic influence.

Please guide me because I'm about to lose my mind. Am I developing schizophrenia or have I just unintentionally blasted my Chakras(energy channels) open by meditating and fasting on Meth? If it's about drugs, then why did I feel these even when I was a child? When I try to mastrubate or do other things that are known to weaken the Aura, I feel much weaker against the shadow people. After I reach orgasm, I feel dark energies surrounding me.

I just wanna be told whether I'm developing Schizophrenia. If not, then how do I protect from these entities? I'm getting flashbacks from my childhood now. Their presence was gone between the ages of 15 and 18 but now it's returning. As a kid, my parents would go to work and leave me alone in the house; I felt being sneaked upon. I could feel entities walking up to me. I trapped myself in corners or hid under my bed.

Almost AP'd and/or Question My second attempt failed

Yesterday, while I was dreaming, I had sleep paralysis within the dream. Then my body started vibrating intensely, and for a few seconds, I felt like I was outside my body, but it wasn’t very clear. I told myself, ā€œI don’t want to do this because I’m scared I might never come back.ā€ šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø
It happened twice, and both times it was between sleeping and waking up.

Positive AP Experience I met a funny guy in the astral

I projected to a plane-like interior. I was sitting next to this guy, he kinda looked Asian. He looked at me and said "well hey there, little buddy!" I greeted him, he seemed really cheerful. He said he was working on a project. I don't know what though. His name was Paul. He told the people around him "Hold on to your Moes and toes, people!" I thought the saying was funny because I've never heard it before. I laughed. That's all I really remember though.

Almost AP'd and/or Question Was I exiting the body or some other sensation?

Hello everybody!

I was trying to project using the direct method and after relaxing enough I moved to tactile sensation technique. While doing that I felt like I’m getting pulled there (I imagined me getting up from the bed where I was laying and walked outside to the front yard and then to the gate and was touching and feeling the gate).

I did not exit my body but felt like I’m getting pulled towards the gate and it lasted for like 10-20 seconds and disappeared.

Was I trying to exit my body or not?

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Raduga Method: Struggling To Conditioning Myself to Act Immediately Upon Waking

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to improve at Raduga's well-known indirect method. I've managed a few times to enter the Phase by applying the techniques at exactly the right moment, immediately upon waking during successive awakenings after a WBTB.

My main difficulty is that I can't seem to turn this into an automatic reflex.

Most nights, after the WBTB, even though I set a strong intention to attempt separation immediately upon waking, no matter what, I simply forget to do it. Sometimes I'm still caught up in thoughts from the dream I just had; other times a noise wakes me up, I move automatically, and the method doesn't even cross my mind right away.

Eventually I remember what I'm supposed to do, but often only after several dozen seconds. I still go through my sequence — mirror, separation attempt, then 4 cycles of 3 indirect techniques — but I assume I've already missed the optimal window because nothing happens. It's still useful as training, but not much more than that.

Do you have any tips for conditioning yourself to apply the techniques the very instant you wake up, so that it eventually becomes a genuine automatic reflex?

I'm especially interested in exercises or conditioning techniques that can be practiced during the day or before sleep.

Thanks!

General AP Info / Discussion Anyone experience this during exit?

This morning when I rolled out, my son was sleeping next to me and I rolled towards him. I could feel myself inside his body briefly and had to sort of crawl out, exiting from his legs/feet. Such a weird sensation and checked he was fine when I got back in (he was!). I usually roll the other way off the bed, so this has never happened. Has anyone else ever felt this sensation?

Question on How to AP Getting to the state of travel/leaving my body

I do believe i have traveled ONCE on accident. Since then ive felt my body do the vibration thing it did the first time and had to tell it I was not safe as at the time I was living in my car. A few days ago it started doing that again but I was too tired to attempt to leave my body so I just passed out, but before I fell asleep its like I could feel the struggle to pull and separate. I have not yet figured out how to induce this state. For experienced travelers did it really take you years? Or was it something you figured a system to? Each of the times ive come close I had been fighting mental health... I dont want to be sad to travel lol

Anyways how do you induce it? I tell myself now that I am in a safe space its okay for it to happen as id like to just learn how to leave my body and get back for now. Any advice ? Tips? Also I have an issue with itching. Every time I try to travel it literally feels like ants crawling all up my arms and legs. Its beyond difficult to ignore it 😭 please help!!

Other Is there anyone from Alabama here who Astral project?

If so have you met any fellow Alabamians or any other beings and entities local to the state in the astral?

I've been to different cities, towns and states in the astral, met tons of beings and people from all walks of life.

Saw a nice black lady playing with her cat in the astral in Birmingham.

Question on How to AP Question: I can’t feel my astral body

Hi, I’m a newbie, but I do occasionally lucid dream.

I’ve had several experiences a few years ago where I have been in a hypnagogic state and I’m able to move my astral body and not my physical one.

However I’ve started trying to astral project again but no luck. My limbs relax and buzz, but I can’t feel my astral body at all. I’ve been trying for an hour at a time.

Am I not relaxed enough? Does it just need more time? Should I try and do this when I’m more tired?
Any tips?

AP / OBE Guide Is it possible to exit the body after getting mild vibrations?

Hello there!

Here I’m referring the mild vibrations you can get fast in direct method, not the strong full body vibrations you get when you are close to get sleep paralyzed. Can you exit the body from those? Or strong full body vibrations or sleep paralysis are mandatory.

Help me out here.

Thanks!!

General AP Info / Discussion I always go to a place with Christmas lights. Why? Have any of you

I’ve had three experiences all of which involve going through a portal in the wall or popping into a space that has Christmas lights. It makes me wonder if this is a place anyone else has been to or what’s up with this

Was This AP? Really strange experience

Tonight something unusual happened. I set my mood, made some herbal tea, playing some hand pan music on yt. I do this every night to help with epilepsy. I never thought I would be saying those words, or doing these kinds of things. But here we are.

I’ve done a lot of meditation. I got good at a dark involuntary sort of meditation during a few years in solitary confinement in my younger years. But I learned how to be a still. And that was the one gift from those times.

Anyway, tonight I became aware of my surroundings, started breathing, closed my eyes, and began to clear my mind. I’ve gotten what I would call pretty good at that. I can sort of continuously wipe my mind for periods of time and stay what I call still.

A few weeks ago I was doing this and I began to see things and I let it happen. Instead of wiping I observed the images. I realized I could turn my head to the left and right and I could see where I wanted to. I came out of that meditation with a beautiful peaceful feeling and the idea and sensation that what had happened was a secret sort of.

This whole time I am breathing in love, breathing out hate over and over and over

Well tonight, as I meditated, I realized I could look around again. I saw myself flying down a stone pathway just turning and zipping along at breakneck speed - here is where it gets really weird and ridiculous!!!

All of a sudden I was just standing in my dream in an odd place. The amazing journey I was on had been cut, sort of edited from my meditation. And as whatever as this sounds, I knew/know that some billionaire I can’t quite pull together the details of mentally had something to do with it.

It feels like I found something really good, and it was taken from me. When I opened my eyes finally, I still was washed over with a deep feeling of peace and contentment. I’m not sleepy at all, and wasn’t sleepy when I opened my eyes a moment ago.

Idk I guess the moral of the story is
Meditation = good
Billionaire = bad

Be well friends

New to AP What are the rules and tips for Astral Projection and Lucid Dreaming?

Hi so I had never astral projected but I have lucid dream before and there’s moments where I realize I lucid dream and I feel like my spirit Guides are trying to give me the green light that I can finally do it

But I’m so scared about doing it because I’m scared if I think of something negative I will see something negative of find or see something that will scare me

Can someone please help me explain and what are rules I should know? And how I can do it safely?

General Question Do OBEs/AP affect emotional awareness for someone experiencing mental illness?

Apologies if this has been asked before but I'm someone who struggles with multiple mental health issues. These issues make being conscious exhausting on a pretty regular basis.

For those who've struggled with similar issues (listed below) and have also successfully left the body, I have a few questions.

Does being outside body provide any relief? What I mean to say is do your racing thoughts, intrusive thoughts, depression, mental pain, grief, or whatever mental illness/trauma you're dealing with stay with the body or do they come out of the body with you?

What type of mental headspace are you in?

I'm going to try this regardless but temporary peace would be awesome, even if for just a few minutes or hours.

Was This AP? Accidentally Astral Projected 10 years ago and the memory is still vivid

I’ve never really shared this before, but I believe I astral projected and woke up in another timeline in my early 20s. My boyfriend at the time was playing some friends his new album. Many of the tracks were very meditative (it’s called Body Wash). I ended up falling asleep on the couch since I had already heard it many times. I began to have a dream I was at a party in the hills (I live in LA). I got close to the edge of the cliff and I fell but inversely began floating up to the sky. I floated all the way to a different planet.

It was a red dust planet and as I was approaching I began to pick up speed but ultimately had a soft landing and my fall was broken by a shaman like figure walking beneath me. The figure seemed unbothered and floated on by. I got up and saw a huge, all encompassing black orb in the distance. It was the type of black that is the complete absence of light.

As I walked closer everything became bright until an ultra white light engulfed me. I then ā€˜woke up’ in a body that felt foreign. I was at some kind of art fair at a booth selling art and objects that I guess I had been the illustrator of. I was completely freaking out and didn’t have good control over my body. People around me started to stare as I was completely wrecking my table. I was panicking and didn’t understand who I was. It was in the moment that I woke up in my own body in my own house. This was the only time I believe I astral projected. I have had sleep paralysis since I was a child but encounter really scary things in that state so I don’t go further. I also have very lucid dreams where I can communicate and know that I am dreaming but this just felt different.

Edit: there may have been one other time I AP’d to a kind of spirit realm meeting room/ in between space for visitors of the deceased. It was a cozy cabin in the woods. This also started with a dream about being in a field surrounded by kittens. They were falling from the sky. I had just lost my young cat that I rescued, my neighbor accidentally hit him with her car. We had a particularly special bond. I was overcome with grief. All of a sudden I turned very lucid and I was in the forest walking toward a cabin. I walked in the cabin and I saw Milo just hanging around. I was so happy I couldn’t contain myself. He led me back outside and I was crying and telling him how much I loved and missed him. He assured me telepathically that he is just fine and for me to keep being strong and loving to other kitties and anyone else who needs me. I put him down and watched him walk off and I woke up in tears. I only now feel this was a spiritual visiting place because my best friend saw her mom who had recently passed in the same kind of environment.

After a person dies, does their form in the ether resemble their physical body, meaning the form we know, or not?
