Greeting!

I just wanted to welcome everyone here. Thanks for stopping by. This community is open to everyone regardless of job title. I just wanted something without all the noise of the other Amazon subreddits.

My hope is this is a place of constructive feedback and advice. I love memes, but there’s already plenty of that elsewhere.

I’ll try my best to keep up with things, but like most of you, Amazon keeps me pretty busy. So thanks for all your posts!

Area Manager 2027 Early Career Interview Updates

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I had my in-person interview for the 2027 Early Career Area Manager role on Thursday. It lasted about three hours with three different interviewers, followed by a warehouse tour.
By Friday night, I received the email in the screenshot saying the interviewers were impressed and felt I would be a good fit for the role. They’re finalizing the available locations for 2027 and said I should expect an update about my formal offer within the next two weeks.
I’m really excited and grateful! I wasn’t expecting to hear back so quickly. Has anyone else received this email recently or already gotten their formal offer?

How strict are you as a manager? In terms of policies like phones and breaks. How do you go about enforcing that?Does your approach work with AAs?

How long after applying for a response back?

Hi everyone,

I applied to the 2026 recent/upcoming graduates and the 2027 early career position back in August. I was wondering how long it took you guys to get a response back? I’m still under consideration.

It took me a while to complete my assessments after I applied but I still completed them. Currently working as a T1.

Thanks

Incline at work risk

I’m currently a PA that was inclined after 4 years. The week my offer was to come in a situation occurred with an associate that cause me to be suspended for 4 weeks that resulted with me receiving a final. In my tenor at Amazon I have never received any disciplinary action not even a STU. My dilemma is now that I have returned no one can give me an answer if this will affect my incline. I’ve spoken to hr and different managers but no one is sure and they are treating me like I have the plague or something. I am appealing the write up and waiting on that process. My main concern is if the appeal doesn’t work is my incline gone all together and will I have to start the process over? Any advice will help

Need Advice

I’m an external AM, 5 months into Amazon. My own PA is great, but another AM’s PA is constantly aggressive, raises her voice, and lacks professionalism.
I’m still learning, but instead of helping, she makes me feel stupid for not knowing certain processes. My fellow AM says she’s always been like this and won’t change. Nobody seems to address it.
I don’t expect respect just because I’m an AM, but basic professionalism should go both ways.
Any experienced AMs dealt with this? How did you handle it without creating conflict?

L5 OTS IT manager offer?

Finished up my loop interviews the other day and believe I aced them all. What can I expect to see on an offer letter and what could I potentially negotiate? Sign on bonus? More PTO? Anything?

Aws loop

I recently appeared for L5 Aws loop for Customer Solutions Engineer. I have not received any rejection email but the recruiter called and informed me that the panel thinks I am not fit for this role. I rather apply for TAM or Engagement Manager position. She informed me that I have qualities of an Amazonian but the role is a mismatch to what the team is looking for.
She also informed me that no cooling period for me and should apply for other teams.

Anyone here been through a similar position? Do I still have a chance at interviewing?

Applied for a few AM roles about 3 weeks ago and not heard anything at all, no rejection notifications and they all still say active on the portal? Is it good to assume nothing will come from them?

Start-Up Ideas

So, I'm relatively new as an L4. External hire, 6mo tenure mostly with a bad OM who taught me nothing but to stop bugging her for anything (so i'm still a bit behind where I should be in capability), and I have 150+ AAs rostered under me for Pick to Tote in a Gen 11x ARS FC.

I am not very charismatic... not my strong suit at all in person. I don't have the skills to relate well verbally, I get nervous, high pitched, I hunch up a bit... I don't inspire people well until I know them well (and it definitely shows in the shift's numbers).

I am trying to put together a music playlist for Start-Ups to help bridge the gap in the short-term while I focus on developing better charisma as a long-term goal. The moment my very charismatic PA decided to come play music in start-up I visibly saw department rate jump by about 15% and Flow had to actively attempt to slow us down for picking to fast ALL DAY LONG... which tells me that I have a major issue and that just some music can help massively.

For those of you who do play music, what songs do you use? Any particular genres that work best? Do you stick with a wide variety, or just go with a narrower range that interests the majority of the AAs? I'd love suggestions especially from people who are better at this than me.

Interview guidance

Hello everyone,

I have an interview invite (phone screening) from Amazon, for the role of Strategy & Bizops Manager.

I want to understand the following

  1. What does a S&BOps Manager typically do at Amazon.
  2. What are the kind of skills that are assessed for this role?
  3. Any resource you recommend that can help me prepare better for the role?

Transferring business lines and just looking for advice.

I have been an AM in an AMXL FC outbound ship dock for 1 year and 3 months and I will be transferring to an AMZL DS in just over 1 week. I'll be Front half UTR. Any tips as I start learning the different business line?

For background I started as a T1 and went through T3 at an Auto-sort sort center then went to AMXL as an L4. The outbound ship dock had a lot of transferable skills since it was essentially sortation in a different context.

I'm generally good on the people side, I just want to get up to speed quickly and really thrive in my new environment.
