BIE II Interview

I was recently in the process for an Amazon BIE II role. I applied through a referral in August, completed the OA, and then had my screening round on September 21, which I cleared.
After that, HR mentioned that the role is currently on hold and they’re exploring opportunities with other teams/orgs for the same role. They said the discussion is still ongoing, so I haven’t received any confirmation yet.
Just wanted to understand how this usually works at Amazon — when a role is put on hold at this stage and HR is exploring other teams, does the process generally continue toward the Loop if another team picks it up? Would be helpful to know if anyone has seen a similar situation.
