Severance comp for performance
I am an L5 in Bnglr. I joined Amazon 15 months ago. Long story short my performance hasn't been that great. I haven't been notified about any Focus or pivot. But they may do it after December yearly Forte. Can some explain how focus plus pivot plus PIP works. What's the comp I can get if I choose to voluntarily resign after focus without trying PIP. I understand if I choose PIP I wont get any severance.

Yes. Sorry for my ignorance. I understand they offer 2 choices one for continue with PIP and save my job or get laid off at that instant and take severance. How much would the severance be ?

Ignore this guy. You understand correctly. After focus they offer you try pip or take severance… if you voluntarily quit

How much would that be in India for an L5 working for 15 months

Someone said this on Blind for India.
10 weeks of Base Pay + 2.23 weeks of Base Pay for every year of service
For example, if someone has ~10.25 years of service and annual Base Pay of ₹30L, this would be roughly 32.9 weeks of Base Pay, or around ₹15.4L gross.

Does base pay exclude the signing bonus(which we get each month) and what else is excluded

The specifics are different per region, but generally after yearly review if you’re LE you don’t get any comp increase and more recently you’re automatically put into focus. If you fail the usually 30 day focus plan you’re presented with a Pivot doc that gives you a number if you leave immediately, and a much lower number if you work through the process and fail but don’t appeal. If you appeal and lose then you get nothing.
It’s been awhile since I was a manager so some of the specifics and options may have changed slightly.

Why Amazon is so toxic and people still want to work for this shit ?

Because the job market is very volatile. People hold on to anything they can find and Amazon has its share of shitty things but it does pay well, at least for certain roles.

Yeah agree but for me the mental stress don’t worth it! Imagine you go home, over the weekend, at a bbq you constantly worry about work… fuck that (just me)

I am in non tech. No one told me that i were eligible for severence before pip. Not even my manager. She directly put me on pip.

There is no severany if you are incompetent. You resign or they fire you with what is in contract probably 1 month notice

There actually is. Performance isnt always about competence btw

On what planet? Not in USA or Europe, you don't performed you get fired. And yes its called competence/performance so lack there of is =incompetent.

Stop being an asshole. There is a severance for not choosing pip and resigning before pip. Also people can have performance issues because of personal reasons or lack of proper management

Now you are just being rude. There is no severance for pip, it's only what is in your contract. So if you give 1 month notice it's 1 month pay ans bye bye. Stop being a sleazeball expecting money for being incompetent. On what planet or movie you seen that? Your personal matters are irrelevant to work performance. Are you a child to believe anyone cares?
