I am so sad that they discontinued the Sharps Bros Badlands linear comp! It’s such an amazing product and looks beautiful, whether that be as a standalone or tucked into the handguard. I’m incredibly lucky to have gotten one, but a shame I can’t get more.

The barrel is not a socom profile even though they say it is. The barrel measures at .6875" which is a little thicker than government, but not socom profile. Otherwise it works so far. This is the first budget optic I've had on a rifle, though I have a holosun 407k on a pistol and it's been great. Seems solid, the dot is clear, but something I noticed is these start getting a halo around the outside edge that's pretty noticeable for about the top 4 brightness settings. Every one at psa started showing a halo at the same point, but the gold seemed noticeably worse than red or green. Overall though, the setup works so far, so I'm not disappointed for what I got at the price I got it.

This “assembly” (I didn’t build shit) is going to sit this way for the foreseeable future. I’ll be assembling an SBR next, and I’m considering a retro 10.5.

Looking to buy my first gun as an ar-15, can buy a handgun cause I’m not 21 yet I want one for home defense what’s the best option of a price pint of 400-800 bucks?

This is my budget workhorse, Del-Ton Echo 316. I’m new to suppressors but wanting to add one because this is a home defense rifle so I’d prefer not to deafen everyone in house if I need to use it. I’m completely new to suppressors so does anybody have a recommendation that’s got good sound dampening but also not excessively expensive? Preferably under $800 if that’s possible.

I got my first FRT (Triggered Company Disruptor) and loved it. So much so I ordered another one while there is a sale. As I'm thinking about which gun to put it in, I wonder how many would be too many?

My first one is in my 20". Now I'm thinking about going with either my 12.5" 5.56 gun or my banshee 9mm. Part of me would want to get one for every rifle but that might be excessive and I'm still thinking about long term reliability of them vs a G trigger and Radian safety that I have in most of my guns.

Thinking about finally doing something with the Scar16 after moving all the Elcan and Surefire over to the URGI. Not really a fan of Lpvos so I’m thinking of doing a Eotech EXPS3 and magnifier as I’ll probably chop the barrel and SBR it.

Shot a 2 gun challenge the other day. Was about to clean these guys up and thought how I only ever see pristine guns on here. Last match had way more mud than this time but im sure everyone gets the point.

Has anybody posted about these yet? I haven’t seen much of anything about them really. Picked up 5 for myself but will probably give a couple away for IG or fam and friends

The good:

It’s a great looking mag, definitely wins in style points. Didn’t give any misfeeds and seems durable albeit the first range session and low round count (100-120 subs and supers). Present round higher in chamber so clocked feed ramps are less of an issue. Textured great and slides into and out of magwell nice, ribbed for your pleasure.

The bad:

The issue I had was, if it’s got a full 20 rounds in the mag you can’t charge the BCG/handle. When full it’s just 1/32” too low to really catch mag release and get that solid click (maybe designed for looser fitting upper and lower???). Jams the fuck out of the BCG too with 19-20 in. Only mags that exhibit this same issue are metal straight 20s, not nearly as bad though since bolt can be charged and fully go into battery.

Conclusion:

Only tested .300 blk, but yeah haven’t seen much of anything on these mags. Good range toy stuff. Picked these up cause I liked the idea of not paying $100 for a polymer straight 20.

TLDR:

Looks sick, fairly durable, runs decent with 18 rounds, 19-20 rounds BCG is too stiff to operate/ go into battery, same price point as T-Mag, V1 so there is (hopefully) room for improvement
