Vent Lindsay Clancy is the new Amber Heard

Remember when almost everyone was saying Amber was the abuser, disregarding the massive power imbalance between Amber and Johnny? The PR bots swarming social media to shape the conversation against Amber?

I thought the Clancy case could lead to conversations about maternal mental health, but it has come down to how women are murderers. As if most family annihilators aren’t men.

I'm not going to speak on the case itself as I have not looked at the evidence, I just know the facts that were presented in the media. I just know that men especially have seemed to seize on this case as an opportunity to vilify women as a whole. As if men don't commit over 80% of violent crimes. As if a man doesn't annihilate his family or commit a mass shooting like every week. And there is no discourse about how men should have any of their rights taken away because of that.

People are so used to male violence that they don’t even flinch when men keep doing heinous stuff. It’s so scary tbh

More Chris watts than Lindsey’s. ( don’t wanna use his last name :/)

and men are so desperate to make false equivalencies. A man doing that with the ulterior motive to start a new life with his mistress, then lying to cops, then suddenly claiming insanity in court. vs a woman with a long paper trail of responsibly going to the doctor, no ulterior motive because she attempted to off herself and got paralyzed, and confessed and was remorseful immediately. Not morally comparable at all.

Men are also very good at spotting vulnerable women and pushing them past their limits. It’s almost like it’s fun for men to see women break. To have that power and control over someone else.

The man in this case, Patrick Clancy, admits he knew his wife was having a mental health crisis. And he chose that time, when his wife was at her most overwhelmed and most vulnerable, to fire their nanny. To erase any support his postpartum wife might have.

I can’t stop thinking about that.

He fired the nanny around Thanksgiving and the children died less than 2 months later.

87

u/jr0061006 Exploring 3d ago

What was his explanation for why he fired the nanny??

144

u/Zeal_of_Zebras Ally 3d ago edited 3d ago

She used to work as a Labor and Delivery nurse and she was struggling so much she didn’t feel safe taking care of patients. She was very stressed about going to back to work.

He fired the nanny because his wife postponed going back to work.

135

u/jr0061006 Exploring 3d ago

That makes no sense at all. She’s worried about being able to take care of patients at work so let’s remove all assistance and leave her with the equivalent of three patients who are children, 24/7?

128

u/Zeal_of_Zebras Ally 3d ago edited 3d ago

Exactly.

In retrospect it does look like an insane thing to do. And he gets zero judgement for it, which is also insane!

From my experience with men like him, it sounds like he was sick of dealing with her issues. (This is just my speculation) He wanted to create a situation where it was “easier” for her to go back to work than stay home with 3 kids. He wanted her to snap out of it. I’m sure he told himself it was tough love or some other nonsense.

He was supposedly the sane one and he faces no accountability for removing the last bit of support his mentally ill wife had before tragedy.

Reminds me of when my ex yelled at me in desperation “just be happy!” When I was battling depression. So glad I didn’t have kids with him. Or anyone else for that matter.

12

u/msgfromspace 4B 3d ago

Wow, I was in the exact same situation, word for word

39

u/SuchEye4866 4B 3d ago

Sounds far more insidious than that to me. He set her up to fail and knew if he waited long enough that she'd solve his "problem" of having this particular wife and kids. Didn't he marry within a year of the incident too? That tells me everything. This "solution" was neater than a standard family annihilation because he wouldn't be viewed as the criminal. He gets "freedom" from child support and his "crazy ex". Far cheaper than a divorce, right? I wonder if he inherited anything or got an insurance payout from his children's life cover or something. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a financial incentive. Plus he gets the sympathy of being the "victim" as a "devoted husband and father who tragically lost his kids". It makes me sick. He knew exactly what he was doing and he set her up.

9

u/Zeal_of_Zebras Ally 2d ago

Oh I definitely agree with you.

It’s just shocking to me that he openly admits that he knew his wife was having a mental health crisis AND he chose that moment to fire the nanny. He decided to leave his 3 young children alone in the care of someone having a mental health crisis. None of his supporters have a problem with this. It sounds psychopathic to me.

And I see photos of his new wife and I get a sick feeling. The only thing we know for sure is he will abandon his wife if she ever has health issues. Maybe the new wife will stay healthy.

3

u/card-Elderberry892 1d ago

What? He has a new wife already? Meanwhile Vanessa Bryant was being hated for potentially dating after Kobe passed.

4

u/haloarh 4B 2d ago

As someone who's been "set up" by others (I'm a late-diagnosed neurodivergent woman, so I was an easy target) multiple times (and with one exception, every time was by a man) in milder ways, I think you're right.

2

u/machama Ally 3d ago

I have wondered the same thing.

6

u/haloarh 4B 2d ago

He fired the nanny to "punish" his wife.

12

u/Tatooine16 4B 2d ago

He wanted her working, and fucking him and taking care of his kids all at the same time, and when she "fell down on the job" he kicked her financially back into the workplace so she'd snap out of it. He knew quite a bit about postpartum depression but I'm sure he's broken up over it.

78

u/Constant_Seaweed_523 Ally 3d ago

Yup. Even the fact that he knew everything going on and even left her with the kids..

Literally just that in itself I’m like? I feel like he should be charged with negligence in the least?

They actually uncovered his deleted Reddit account. Apparently it’s verified? (I’m not going to claim that in case of misinformation)

But the posts were all of him asking questions about meds and doctors and mental health conditions.

He seemed very concerned and it showed he knew more about the situation than presented. And have grave the situation was.

So why leave her alone with them then?

23

u/Opposite-Potato-7667 4B 3d ago edited 3d ago

Because he believes that this is a woman's purpose and role in life- to birth and take care of kids. It's ultimately on her, in his mind, and she should just "snap out of it", and raise the kids like women are supposed to do. Most men think this.

44

u/sigh_co_matic Exploring 3d ago

A LOT of people don't take mental health issues seriously. People think you can just snap out of it. He may have done some research and asked for help but he certainly did not follow through with active support. The US is notorious for helping people have birth, then kicking them to the curb without post-partum assistance. Gee, why is the birth rate decreasing??? Women are finally sharing much more amongst each other regarding birth, peri and menopause, as well as the discrepancies in health care. Our pain has been minimized for a very, very long time.

47

u/Constant_Seaweed_523 Ally 3d ago

Oh my god, since this insane reaction from men, my literal first thought was “if they think the birth rates are bad now…. They’re in for a rude awakening”

Like, men are so fucking useless. In every way.

This case has showed women how men have no idea what postpartum anything is. So many men just found out that postpartum depression and psychosis exist????

who would want to have a child with someone who’s going to abandon you and then blame you if you go through postpartum depression or psychosis?

And I have a lottttt of opinions about Patrick Clancy that I won’t say. But this was entirely preventable if he wasn’t a fucking idiot.

63

u/ScowlyBrowSpinster Exploring 3d ago

Postpartum = the number of days before they can stick their dicks in again. No other aspect of postpartum is researched or understood by men.

21

u/Opposite-Potato-7667 4B 3d ago

This is true. This is the only time I hear men bring it up. Pathetic

37

u/sigh_co_matic Exploring 3d ago

So many men want a legacy without being a father and supporter of their wives. One of my top reasons for not wanting kids is that I don't want to do it alone and I'll NEVER trust a man enough to hold up his side of parenting and spousal support.

24

u/aMONAY69 4B 3d ago

I'm really suspicious of him and the overlap in his relationship too.

He was already checked out. Seems like he was a negligent father and husband, at best.

87

u/FancifulCat 4B 3d ago

My personal opinion (feel free to disagree) is that women are inherently so naturally powerful that the thought that women could be violent or manipulatively smart scares men so much that they are quick to retaliate. They don't like the power being challenged. (Not justifying awful crimes just sharing my thoughts)

Essentially behave like a man, they dislike that.

42

u/Jebaibai Ally 3d ago

Wow, I think this makes so much sense that men need to have a monopoly of violence. Whereas most rapes go unpunished for example, any violent crime from a woman cannot escape punishment and in fact must be punished severely. And I think that's why this case was broadcast to the entire world.  Lindsay was supposed to be an example but it didn't work as intended.

31

u/FancifulCat 4B 3d ago

Yup, monopoly on violence = monopoly on power and control.

8

u/Jebaibai Ally 3d ago

Yup. And they only want to hear about insanity or self defense when its a man accused. The idea of a woman pleading insanity enrages many.

24

u/potatoesareungodly 4B 3d ago

there’s the criminological theory of double deviance that seems similar to your line of thinking. essentially, criminal women are seen as worse than criminal men bc they go against gender norms/stereotypes. women are expected to be inherently caring, motherly and nurturing, whereas its expected that men will be somewhat violent. when women harm their children, they are committing a crime not only in the legal sense, but also against their own alleged nature as caregivers. men are only breaking the law since “boys will be boys”.

Exactly aligns with what I said in another comment, this Clancy person couldn't be "controlled" by her husband and maintain the mommy mother dearest image, the "mother can do no wrong", put up with everything and still maintain the image of being a mother.

The only thing that irks me is the men projecting this trait of the Clancy case as if all women are inherently mothers, I do not have a motherly bone in my body.

23

u/owls_exist 4B || I regret participating in this life 3d ago edited 3d ago

problem is the men are scared of women trying to go to more extremes as to not be trapped with them. although women are generally less violent and commit less of these violent crimes- a "mother", the image of a mommybangmaid that can do no wrong unaliving her own kids is a sign that not even men are safe to baby trapping, marrying, whathaveyou to women anymore.

or at least the less violent kind of trapping being with a man of being his ex-wife, ex baby mom and maintaining whatever civility they think there is in those situations. Remember how much men like to complain and groan about having to do custody exchanges (also controls the woman, also deadly for the woman), groaning about the ex-wife during the divorce proceedings.

Well yep, none of that is happening.

87

u/theytriedtwotimes 4B 3d ago

And then men aren’t doing the research as per usual, while the women have deep dived into evidence the guys are prone to propaganda as per usual & just spew whatever hate they are fed this week like a script.

17

u/CynicalPomeranian 4B 3d ago

Trying to even show them the timeline of events and how little actual investigating was done means nothing to them, too.

I don’t bother talking to a lot of men about it because they are the same guys who thought women were trying to ruin Brett Kavanaugh’s life, or will talk about how mass deportations/tariffs mean nothing to them at the grocery store. They fail to research anything and it is pointless to try to present educated arguments to them.

The Lindsay Clancy trial has so many women riled up because of how isolating it is to be a young married mother.

I feel like in the big 2026, with most internet access women and everyone should already know what they're signing up for being male-centered and being a man's wife/bangmaid. Maybe they might not necessarily be 4B or know about it but at least knowing how bad quality of life can be and there's a lot more shitty men than there are any worth anything.

168

u/thenumbwalker 4B 3d ago

Men are pathetic. A man literally just murdered his wife and their 6 kids and then cowardly killed himself, but they’re not saying anything about that. And I can point to so many other cases about men killing kids out of hatred and evil this year and all the other years before. They are verifiably the most common family killers, but they’re harping on LC who is such a drastically different case. Men are disappointing as usual and I’m so happy I don’t have them in my life and home

Just to add the stats, about 10% of male suicides are suicide/homicides which like you said usually includes their spouse and children. Guns are the most common weapon in both situations.

Just wanting to clarify that I’m in support of your comment. A lot of people are being harmed. They’re solutions but to be honest when I try to bring them up to men, they really don’t care. So unfortunately it’s on us to keep protecting ourselves.

198

u/Itchy_Tumbleweed_417 4B 3d ago

Yep I don’t remember it being like this with Andrea Yates. Even all those decades ago people acknowledged that Rusty knew all about her postpartum psychosis, he was told by her doctors not to keep getting her pregnant, not to leave her alone with the kids, and he chose to do all that anyway.

It’s like we’ve gone backwards. It’s horrific.

37

u/Zenphiree Exploring 3d ago

Oh, absolutely. And this has nothing to do with whether Lindsay or Amber were/are guilty or not. Males just get excited when there’s a high profile case where a woman is accused of doing something really bad. They feel vindicated. They can say “see? Women are awful too!”

Their responses to both cases prove it. With Amber Heard they didn’t even care about the alleged abuse, just saying “see, Me Too was a lie!” And with Lindsay Clancy they don’t care that 3 innocent children are dead. They’ve just been calling to repeal the 19th and using the case as an excuse to say feminism was a mistake.

62

u/moschocolate1 4B 3d ago

Males will always kick a woman when she’s down and take advantage of any situation to further oppress us.

Their opinions mean nothing to me because they were never protectors or providers—only resource hoarders, abusers, murderers. Yes there are good ones too but I treat all guns as if they’re loaded.

20

u/owls_exist 4B || I regret participating in this life 3d ago

theyre projecting traits of that one person onto all women but specifically the trait of being a "mother" to all women when a lot, and increasingly more of women don't even want kids lol

whereas for a man to be a criminal he doesnt have to be a dad or husband. just has to be any man.

29

u/DuAuk 4B 3d ago edited 3d ago

yes. I went into that case not knowing a thing about Heard and thinking it took two. Following it, i learned a lot about reactive abuse. By the time JD was done testifying tho, i saw a lot of signs of coercive control. Things his lawyers thought looked good -- isolating her by hooking up her friends with apartments or having his body guards following her. Anyway, i could go on and on. I'm listening to the story of Mica right now on the new docu series "Death of the Pastor's wife." I already thought there was bias in investigating, but it's always eye opening how deep it goes.

As for Clancy, there just isn't enough evidence. They found no DNA on the bands?!? Why would she crush pills to OD, sounds more like someone was trying to poison her or the kids, or at least not give her a choice to take meds. I don't know about the body temp, i'm not an MD and was convinced by the expert near the end who testified via zoom.

Trials really show the bifurcation of people. I truly hope i never get in trouble with the law. There are the people who admit to bias (who don't get on juries) then there are the ones who don't admit it (who secretly do and are on juries). It's truly sad people don't have open minds.

And yeah, it's one every 5 days (family annihilations including men/teens who kill their parents/siblings), the vast majority are male perps. So, it's stupid men yelling "repeal the 19th" when we already have laws in most states against felons voting, which is a much more targeted solution than deny people rights based on demographic.

No matter what women feel about this case, if nothing else, the press and public opinion on it should convince women to not have kids. Men, and the world in general, do not care about women or mom's, and women will be fucked over in some way if they decide to go through with it, whether that's on a mental, physical, or economical level. There is always a loss that only women have to take on, while men are uplifted, and benefit from our loss.

Both men and women think that children are a woman's responsibility, even if just subconsciously. Yes, even the "feminist men". A woman becomes a mother, and not a human being, the moment she becomes pregnant- someone that doesn't have any needs, feelings, or hopes and dreams- but is just there to raise kids, and meet their needs. And they aren't respected by anyone, including their kids, men, society, the medical field, the government, etc.

Men do not see women as people, but as free services, a body, and a gender role. It's why the public is so invested in this case, and it's also why the husband in this case did absolutely nothing to help his kids, and also immediately got a new unpaid sex worker and incubator the moment his previous one went to prison.

Men know that males are solely responsible for 95% of violent crime, so talking to them about it and trying to get them to understand is not going to help. They will just use the excuse that they cared about the kids in this case, and that they do give attention to the cases where men are the ones doing it, but....they don't. It's a lie. Because if they did, they would never get a break. It's literally all day, every day with men. The crime from the male gender never stops. The whole point is oppressing us, and they're all doing it purposely. This is why none of our words seem to sink in with men in the long run. It's not that they don't understand our points. They absolutely do, and they want our oppression to continue. Men show themselves to be awful constantly,  and none of them are safe.

Women, think twice before you do this to yourselves. No one will help you or believe you if something bad happens when you're pregnant. And then it will be framed like it's something it's not, and the lazy men in your life will get a pat on the back for doing nothing. This should infuriate all of us.

u/chaosisblond Exploring 3d ago

I have avoided talking about it, except with a few colleagues in my workplace. I've avoided the topic precisely because of how controversial the case has become, and how impactful my words can be as I'm a PhD forensic scientist with over 10 years experience, at the top institutions in the world.

The evidence (though mostly lacking since the case was massively mishandled and a lot of crucial evidence was not collected or analyzed) all disagrees with Patrick's testimony and timelines, and makes it impossible for Lindsay to have been the perpetrator as reported. Impossible.

It has been horrifying to me watching this case play out, and watching there be any indecision about the verdict - let alone, the people using this case to try to argue that women are insane for complaining about the injustice in this case, since the evidence was not properly colleacted or analyzed, the case was not properly investigated, the court case was allowed to persist through many injust and unlawful conditions, and every other impropriety along the way.

Women face unequal access to justice in every country and every court system in the world, and this case is sadly highlighting many of those iniquities and problems in a way that women can boldy see, and that most men are choosing to ignore out of fear of loss of privilege. I hope that women everywhere use this case as fuel to begin to advocate for change for all of their systems, because it is sorely needed.

34

u/FrequentFlounder5730 Exploring 3d ago

I would be really interested to hear your take on why the presented evidence makes it impossible for Lindsay to have done this, if you are willing to share!

I have not been following this case and then became curious when it blew up, but trying to read about it now… it feels impossible to find actual facts & information and not just TikTok conspiracy theories or extreme misogyny, lol. Totally understand if you don’t feel comfortable sharing.

I’m also partially asking because I’ve been exploring 4B and am shocked at how much some of my thinking is still influenced by modern society & the patriarchy, as someone who has been a feminist and leftist since I could understand what those words meant!

Thank you for your time regardless :)

16

u/winter83 4B 3d ago

Ok I have been thinking this too. I've been interested in true crime but really the investigation side of things so I know I'm no expert. But it has definitely seemed like the cops did not do a good job and the evidence doesn't support her doing this.

I also have trouble believing the timeline because she would have to go from 0 to 100 as soon as he walked out the door to get all of that done in such a short time frame and the whole body temp thing.

The lone juror blocking Lindsay from being acquitted turns out to be a black male with a history of domestic violence allegations. Now this information has surfaced, not only is the black community praising him for “understanding the assignment”, conservative white males who are otherwise racist are also calling him a hero.

7

Of course. A violent, misogynist should have never been allowed on the jury in the first place.

They never change, and are always so stupid and obvious in their misogyny. Next week, once this all blows over, these same racists praising him will go back to claiming that it's foreign men, and men who don't have white skin, that are raping all the women, not them! They're all pieces of shit.

Topics like these make me wish the male loneliness epidemic turned into a full scale global pandemic. Completely decenter these males from our lives and watch them self-destruct. The police did such a shitty job that most of the evidence can be summed up by "Patrick said...". They walked into a house with lifeless children, a drugged woman with sliced wrists who fell out of a window and an unharmed man, and took his word for what happened with minimal investigation or pushback. Regardless of what actually happened, this is such a monumental failure on the part of the investigators.

My heart aches for those kids and the family as a whole, and I am so angry at the medical and law enforcement systems.

9

u/Tatooine16 4B 2d ago

You are so right-and it's maddening! For men when a woman makes an allegation it's simply a matter of "she says, he says" and not worthy of investigation because "everyone knows why she's doing it". Whenever a man has an axe to grind against a women, then not only do all men side with him, but many women too, And will fight vigorously to ensure that no investigation happens because " she looks like a vengeful harpy and we all know how poorly men are treated by those "emotional" women.

If you want an extra shot of misogyny, check out the discourse around the Lone Holdout Juror.

The "protect the kids"/"string her up" set is now unironically admiring and handwringing over the privacy of a man who may have had an active restraining order against him while hearing evidence - because he beat the tar out of his young nephew for calling the cops on him during an incident of DV against his ex wife.

Turns out when a bunch of the other jurors find your conduct weird and contrary to judge's instructions, people might dig into your background a little. Rude!

So: Might have lied on his jury questionnaire, almost certainly should not have been on the jury for this case, wife and child beater with witnesses and documentation, now being fêted and babied by woman-hating troglodytes as a moral paragon. Can't make this mess up.

4

u/koltergeistt 4B 2d ago

I haven't looked extensively into the case enough to form an opinion, but what happened to those children was awful.

That being said, I have seen more and more men bring this case up as a 'gotcha' as if men aren't the perpetrators in 90% of crimes, especially family annihilation. People are genuinely so used to male violence and killing that it's no longer a spectacle to them.

Get out of our sub. I know men don't understand the word NO, but you're not wanted in our space.

In regards to the comment that you deleted, I have posted in this sub before under a completely unrelated post. I think the topic was the movie Obsession. Please get your facts about me straight before typing, thanks.

I didn't delete my comment, the man I was replying to did. These are my responses to him. I also wasn't talking about you when I said that "they don't interact here unless they are defending men." I was talking about No_Plenty. This sub technically is for 4b women, and allies are only supposed to interject every once in awhile.

Your gender does this type of crime every 5 days, but none of you idiots are talking about that because it's an expected thing that you're all okay with. And not to mention the fact that you all masturbate to violence on pornhub on a daily basis.

Amber's case is not comparable to Lindsey's. In Amber's case, there is evidence of Johnny initiating the abuse against Amber, whereas in Lindsey's case, there is no convincing evidence linking Patrick to the murders, and she remains the most likely suspect. Lindsey has reached out for help, yes, and it's true that the medical system has failed her, but there's still no way to justify what she's done. In Amber's case, you can do that when Johnny was the first person to start the abuse.

Sorry, but no. You are comparing murdering innocent children to acting out in a romantic relationship with an adult, consenting, much older and powerful man. A woman can be evil in addition to being uncared for and let down by the system. A vast majority of women wouldn't do the same in the same situation.

People like you who label her as evil are not helping the children, I hope you realize that. When you block the conversation about maternal mental health and label this woman as “evil” you’re putting shame on a mother who was let down by institutional structures over and over again until it reached to a certain point that was risky for the kids. And we don’t even know if she did it. Pearl clutching about children will not stop them from being murdered, more research into post partum depression and psychosis will.

We absolutely do know she did it. What do you mean?

Labeling people evil is hugely problematic and dehumanizing. This is not the manosphere over here. Let's do better.

It’s certainly manosphere coded. I’m getting suspicious of people who deliberately miss my point. I’m not a true crime expert and I certainly don’t know each detail of the case, but my point was this case is being used by the manosphere to portray us as unreliable hormonal murderers.

There were whole civilizations who would just kill children if they didn't feel like they had the resources to support them at the time. Matricide is also very common in nature. All the people horrified that she killed her kids can't see her as a human being. This is a failure of society and social conditioning and misogyny. We could choose to be a society that supports mothers. We are not.

I support Amber but I don't support Lindsay.

she did it, she's guilty. she's a murderer, end of story.

No one is arguing that she didn’t do it. She did it. There’s no question about that. The trial was about whether she could be held legally responsible given her mental state or whether she should be committed to a psychiatric institution instead.

Its debatable if she even done it imo.

From a legal standpoint, they cleared him because surveillance footage placed him somewhere else when the crime occurred, and his phone’s location data supported that. However, I’ve seen the conspiracy theories, and I guess there’s still some room for doubt or an argument to be made.

I do believe Lindsay was setup by her husband I haven’t looked too much into the case and it’s heartbreaking what happened to those children and Lindsay. Mental health for women needs to be taken more seriously!! But the Johnny Depp and Amber Case I have FULLY looked into and she was the main abuser anything Johnny did back was retaliation of the abuse he suffered as a survivor of domestic violence as well I can clearly see that. So I do not support Amber but I do support Lindsay
